It is not gonna happen because so far I can see the sign that altcoin (either existed coin on exchange or the new project) have a popularity who can beat bitcoin as the king of crypto. The community is the main reason here, which can make the price up and the price down are because the user itself. You have to know bitcoin's community is very large, maybe the most crypto user are the investor of bitcoin and they choose altcoin as the second place to invest. I have no idea to say bitcoin will be defeated by altcoin either in the condition of price or the market volume.

Who knows Bitcoin will the Number one in the future? Does anyone know that's bitcoin will still work in the future? I think here a new coin will get the first place in the crypto market. Any coin takes this place. Need more popularity and marketing with a good opportunity.

10 years passed, thousands of coins came but no one could reach closer to Bitcoin. Still, Bitcoin is dominating the crypto industry and yet no coins are closer to Bitcoin! But who knows the future? Time changes, king retires! Right now, I am remembering the Ninja Turtle movie! I hope you got my point.

For now bitcoin still number one, the dominance is really high, the popularity also really high, its the number one coin when people want to invest and bitcoin can be used in more places compare to other coin, but no one know how long the dominance going to last, new coin keep on appearing, bitcoin must keep on update to be number one

High price? Bitcoin had the ATH price of a cryptocurrency. Users? I doubt that Bitcoin users are second to none. I don't know your preference but all I know is that BTC holds records and records, if there will be a king, it will be Bitcoin. So why am I talking about Bitcoin and not these new cryptos? Because Bitcoin will stay at the top as long as cryptocurrency is around. It is a great profit generator, that is why.

Bitcoin is the first coin and the most beautiful thing is BTC can add functionalities that other coins are using now, first they use in alts and then in BTC, so BTC can be relevant for years
And you have to consider big investors are choosing BTC, it's better to trust than some alts

I think if there is any other coin that could replace bitcoin, that coin would be in the likes of Ethereum or Litecoin or better. But as of now, if the price of the altcoins are not following through bitcoin's price, I think there is no such thing that could surpass bitcoin.

Litecoin is a poor copy of bitcoin and copy coins will never be able to perform 10% as bitcoin let alone replace it. as for ethereum, it has too many problems to even become a big project. problems such as centralization and lack of immutability are the most serious issues. other smaller ones is its lack of scalability and unlimited supply. not to mention that it is a token not a currency like bitcoin.

Even if there's a lot of new coin coming, I think bitcoin bitcoin will still remain in its place. Its been there for many years. I think, as long as people trust bitcoin, it will remain as number one.

It's possible in the future that there will be another coin that can replaced bitcoin in the top 1 spot, but as of now i don't see any coins that can even reach half of bitcoins marketcap so bitcoin will still remain the king for many years.

Well, there will be a lot of copy cat coins, but most of them end up filling the pockets of the people who created it <pump b dumps> and a lot of people will be left with a empty <worthless> bag. 

One thing most of these coins cannot copy is the large network of merchants that supports Bitcoin after 10 years and the large amount of people that are using these bitcoins on a daily basis. <Demand for coins are key to it's success>

I think Bitcoin's strongest competition will come from "PrivateCoins" like Libra that are backed by large social media platforms. <Facebook / Twitter / Instagram / YouTube>

Exactly, who knows what will happen in the next few months or years to come, who knows there could be another satoshi building a mind blowing technology some where in the world, the only thing we know is that there is room for growth and possibilities, this leading technologies of today may not be in the next couple of years to come, only thing is enjoy the present and hope for a better future.

Yes i'm sure about it, in fact more than one to my knowledge. No the thing is pretty simple:

• Don't fix what isn't broken
• Don't innovate with something that was made for innovation and won't need any help

If those Satoshi's have a decent enough view of everything and someone so smart does of course, then they will invest their time and energy building something that really needs help. For example, self-driving cars, robots, electric cars, environmental-friendly ways to generate electric power.

Issues of the world that still need to be fixed and which are in a much worse state right now, some worse than the others.

yes that's right, maybe a lot of people here support bitcoin because it's currently a bull run but who knows for the future. whether bitcoin will have the same fate as Yahoo, Nokia, IBM and others or will Bitcoin like Google, Facebook and Apple increase every day. And we used to think that Yahoo was the best messaging service, so Yahoo refused to buy Google and now the company was defeated by the company he refused. Indeed, everything in this world is like a spinning wheel.

And if that happens, an altcoin will not inherit the crown of Bitcoin. Crypto will be starting all over again. And it is going to be a much harder battle.

Bitcoin for me is a very strong asset and whatever efforts the government to destroy bitcoin it wouldn't be enough to ruin or let bitcoin disappear. Bitcoin is by far valuable than other altcoins and I don't think there will be an altcoin that can replace bitcoin.
