I was not surprised to see that this new Australian team struggling against Bangladesh. They underestimated Bangladesh, who have been consistently playing well after they defeated Pakistan in test series. They are batting so well that, as of now, they have a 70-run lead and have lost only 3 wickets. They are dominating the match and are batting really well against the weak Australian bowling attack. I reckon they will get a good lead and most probably win the first Test match.

The idea that a team consisting of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins, and Nathan Lyon has a weak bowling line-up is just mind-boggling.

What makes it crazier is that Bangladesh is missing their best bowlers—like Rana, Shoriful, and Tanzim Sakib due to injury—while Australia is playing with their full-strength team.

Now, after today there is change in odds, Aussies are at 2.35 odds and I have bet few days of lunch money on 'em. I like to think Aussies still has good chance to win the game, and in all likelihood Bangladesh just might shit the bed in second innings, plus since they hit the lead I felt they are looking bit relaxed... and this attitude just might backfire.

Still there is hope for Aussies to make a comeback, today went great for the Bangbros but Aussies managed to keep them under the scoring rate around 3 or less than that for the whole innings that give them some breathing space. Next morning might be their option to get them out and play the long, tiring innings to have any lead and hope Bangladesh collapses in their final innings.

Bangladesh also performed well on the 2nd day of this test match. Tanzid Tamim scored his first-ever century and became the first Bangladeshi cricketer to do so on Australian soil, a major achievement for him. Bangladesh scored 351 and lost 6 wickets. Still, they have 4 more wickets left. BAN lead by 153 runs. A 150-run lead is what we expected from the BAN team. I think if BAN can take a 200+ run lead on day 3, then this test match will be won for Bangladesh. It will be much easier. I hope it's possible with the strong partnership of Mehedi Miraj and Hasan Mahmud, but I think Bangladesh has more chances to win than Australia. But yes, Australia still definitely has a chance to come back.

I think Australians just took them too easy in first innings and thats why their batting was all out on just 198 runs. The job is still not done, as I already mentioned that Australia has the ability to make a comeback in second innings thats why Bangladesh must try to extend their lead to 200 or 250 to give Australia tough time in second innings.

Jake Weatherald is decent but yet to perform, fielders stop dropping marnus million times in a match so he's struggling. Green still trying to figure out if he's generation talent or not. Carrey is good bat but needs a support, beau is promising if top putting some runs on board.

Bangladesh has a good chance if they get head cheaply at top and Carrey at middle , Smith is freaky guy.

Did you miss, "weak bowling attack" part? I mean, it's Starc-Cummins-Hazlewood — how exactly is it weak? This is best Australia has got, no? But, I liked the part for Green though, made me laugh.

Bangladesh team has been in much better form than Australia team in the recent Test series. In this match, Australia team took Bangladesh team very lightly due to which they were all out for 198 runs in the beginning which disappointed them a lot. No one expected the performance of Australia team against Bangladesh but seeing such performance, Bangladesh team must be praised for their excellent bowling and batting performance. Bangladesh team batted well on the second day and they gave a big lead by losing 6 wickets, but there is still time for Australia team to turn around if they can bat well. However, since Bangladesh team's batting performance is good, if they can gain a lead of 200 to 250 runs, it will be difficult for Australia to win. And I think Australia will have a very difficult time to meet the target given by Bangladesh in the next innings.

Didn't feel replying because it's a mixed bag for me if I look at it objectively.

I mean this bowling attack lost 2 back to back series against us, when as a bowling unit they were on peak and 4-6 years younger than they are now.

Likes of Siraj, shardul, washi, natrajan and saini literally on one leg ( with just 4 matches of total experience)outbowled starc- Cummins - hazelwood- lyon on their own hunting ground gaba. In the same series they couldn't break a partnership between 2 injured batters ( Ashwin with broken back + fever and vihari with hamstring injury).

They are still fine attack and could make good comeback because of their quality but sometimes they lose their marbles as bowling unit when someone actually put a good fight and that's what bangladesh did. They can still make a comeback but bang bros spirited performance turned their opponents into medicore, atleast in first 2 days and bangbros deserve credit for this. For context it's Bangladesh first Australia test tour in last 2 decades.

Australian batsmen and bowlers are out of the game for seven months; they need good practice for having better results. Bangladesh is playing consistently despite having the worst results. This is a big difference right now; currently, the visitors are leading by 153 runs.
Two set batsmen will open procedures for Bangladesh tomorrow; if they are able to add 65 to 70 more runs, this could be a big lead for them, and they could be able to bring Australia under pressure. Even still, it's possible for them to fight back, but a 200-run lead is surely not easy to end; they needed a few extraordinary innings to have something to fight.

Bangbros are probably the most enthusiastic as a team and they are doing well already, so will try to continue further. But the match isn't over and  Smith or Labuschagne alone can give the comeback in the second innings so we have to wait for it and how they try to take this game further.

This player surprised me the most today. While it was expected that Bangladesh might not be able to score much, Bangladesh is still in a strong position based on the fearless batting of this emerging player. They have dominated Australia in the first two days, if they can maintain that dominance on the third day as well, Bangladesh might win the match very easily. At the end of the second day, Bangladesh still has 4 wickets left, hopefully Bangladesh might be able to take a 200-run lead very easily.

If Bangladesh can take a 200-run lead, then the fight will already be tough for Australia. Then Australia will have to score at least 400+ runs in the second innings to be able to fight for the match. But Bangladesh's bowlers might not let Australia play such a big innings. It might also be that Australia faced a shameful defeat due to interruption of the innings. Bangladesh is playing great in every department, congratulations!

Great to see the Bangladesh team again with such a good performance, especially from the batting side. The players' best scores gave a huge target and put pressure on the Australian bowlers. The target set by the Bangladesh team is impressively high and will make it very hard for Australia to surpass. Meanwhile, the Australians, who have the best bowlers in this series, face difficulties in stopping the Bangladesh team. Now, a good comeback is necessary for them, but that will only be possible with a positive mindset and a good strategy. If their batsmen make small mistakes, the Bangladesh team will not miss that opportunity. So, if they play more carefully, then their chances of winning can be increased.

Someone earlier mentioned that Australia is playing Test cricket after a long gap. After the Ashes series that concluded around the first week of January, they never played a Test, and maybe that is the reason they struggled. Moreover, the pitch was helping the fast bowlers in the first day.

Now when Bangladesh is batting, it looks like a flat wicket and Australia is not getting that much purchase. It is truly a surprising performance from Bangladesh, considering what you mentioned. Bangladesh already has a sizable lead, and the entire match depends on how long they can bat tomorrow. It will be a battle for Australia to avoid a loss from this position.

I would also agree with you that the current squad that Australia is playing against Bangladesh is their best squad for the current time. But the problem lies here that their current squad is not in good form at the moment and because of this they are unable to cope with a performance against a weak team like the Bangladesh team.

I won't put it this way here, that the Autralian team took the Bangladesh team lightly and that is why they are performance are also getting poor. But is Bangladesh going to win this match! I have not been watching Bangladesh matches for quite some time because of their consistent poor performance. Bangladesh cricket team has disappointed me every time. But after coming to this thread, I saw the scorecard of the match between Bangladesh and Australia and I can see how far Bangladesh is really ahead in the match, especially in the first innings, Bangladesh was ahead in terms of runs scored by Bangladesh batsmen who batted well. In the meantime, Australia has lost four wickets, which has put Australia on the backfoot. There are still 2 days left in the game, if Bangladesh can restrict Australia to a low score, then Bangladesh has a very high chance of winning this match.
