Pakistan team batted first in their first Test match against England and scored only 171 runs. The team was all out after scoring 171 runs, their team could not do a good batting performance in opening, Abdullah Shafique scored only 61 runs. The bowling performance of both Ollie Robinson and Josh Tongue was extraordinary, both of them took 5 wickets each which was the most important for the team. Meanwhile, England team has lost 2 wickets when they came out to bat, but the way they are batting, they will definitely meet the target given by Pakistan very easily. If they score 59 runs, England team will be able to meet the target and with their batting performance, they will bat well and patiently aim to give a big lead to Pakistan team.

This is considered bravery on their part, but they played foolishly and earned this aim while playing in vain. Their players played wrong shots, so a few of them played super, but they too scored only one day international runs. Archer took 4 wickets in his pocket and bowled 9 overs, giving away 26 runs. This wise thinking of the ENG team made the PAK players helpless and this is the aim that a normal team scores in T20 games. Still, ENG  is super than them. If you look at their 2 wickets, I am looking at 112 runs, which is as much as they have scored with 2 wickets. It is not a threat for ENG to complete this aim. If even 1 player scores 10 runs, then this aim is completed. They will invite PAK to play more in vain in this innings because the PAK team does not get motivation.

Yeah, Sri Lanka couldn't play better in the 2nd innings and lost the match by 165 runs. Which is a very big margin. But their 2nd innings performance was a bit better than India's 2n innings. I was expecting Manav Suthar to get man of the match award, but Devdutt Padikkal got it for his excellent batting performance.

I believe, under Gambhir and Gill's leadership india always play with defensive mindset. The way they go with selecting playing XI also suggest that.

India had a good chance of SL bat out of the game in first inning itself but they lost last 6 wickets with in 120 runs. Similarly in second innings as well, sometimes it felt like they were confused if they are setting up target or biding their time despite knowing that it's a rain effected match. Maybe it was stragic decision or maybe i am dumb and reading too much into it.

Maybe the coach and captain got the same defensive approach but we all know the aggressive era of Virat and Ravi Shastri combo was the best of all time for India and everyone will agree on that.

But looking how things are going, I am not expecting any hanges in the management nor how they approach the game for the next couple of years despite becoming a shitty team already in every format.

Yes, Pakistan team played disappointing cricket in the first inning except Abdullah Shafique. Salman Ali Agha was disappointed with fielding. When the pressure was fully built, they dropped the important catch of Harry Brook. Pakistan needed the most important wicket of Harry Brook, but Salman Ali Agha dropped the catch, and Harry Brook scored a magnificent century in his first inning of the test match. England currently lead by 195 runs so far, with just one wicket remaining in this inning. Pakistan spinner Ali Usman bowled a classical spell pick five wickets haul. I touched on the defensive mindset of our captain on our local thread, and it looks like they are trying hard to survive and not lose the match. As fans, we have seen exciting cricket played during the era of the Virat and Ravi Shastri combo, where they pushed aggressively and went for the kill every time, irrespective of the result. If you are not worried about playing hard and losing, you win most of the time—the old Australian way. Even when losing wickets, they always looked to dominate, rather than trying to survive and expecting to win.

If the current management and the captain continue the same approach, the fans will be definitely disappointed, as we had already seen exciting cricket and now shifting back to the old mindset of the 90s will not win any fans over.

Guess we all agree that ganguly was the first to bring fire in the Indian dressing room, earlier our team ( barring few individuals)used to take punches after punches be it racism or ridiculous amount of sledging. Ganguly ditched the good boys image and Kohli took it to peak along with performance. Ngl i feel we might still perform and win but won't reach kohli level of peak in captaincy, under him we were best touring side for like good 4-5 years.

Victory for England in first test by an innings and 103 runs. Pakistan team was not able to bat nor bowl well in Leeds test and result of first test is alarming as Pakistan has two more test to play. Abdullah Shafique was the only one from Pakistan team to score a fifty in both innings but no Pakistani batsmen was able to play a big innings despite getting batting twice. England bowlers and batsmen were both able to improve their stats in this match and in the end its a comfortable victory for England side.

The sign of a best test team is not to win many match but give the scare for your opponents, and yeah Virat is the best in that context and he even scared the opponents with the attacking captaincy even when they are losing the game which is why we still consider them best. But we can't every coach to have the same aggressive mindset which is okay but they should bring results or do what fans really expect them to, while under GG both are not happening which is even more pissing everyone.

England made their strength by scoring 409 runs in their first innings itself that they did not need to play a second innings and they also played very hard in bowling which made Pakistan play very carelessly and made it clear that they are not interested in this match and will not be able to compete with England. The England team has actually played with a lot of effort and it is also clear that they were working hard to victory the match but Pakistan looked enough weak and it seemed that they themselves were not happy to play in this match. Pakistan batsmen could not score 409 runs even after playing in both innings which is enough embarrassing for their effort and play. They should prepare with a good coach and then play the match. If they have to play like this then it is very sad for them and their loved ones.

The batsmen of the Pakistan team could not play a big innings and they got out quickly due to which the team was put under more pressure and therefore they could not survive the fight with England. The batting and bowling performance of the England team was very good and the way they played is really praiseworthy. The team that can play with good patience in the Test match will move forward towards victory. However, the England team played with enough patience against Pakistan, due to which they were able to defeat the Pakistan team.

The 103-run innings defeat was expected. Pakistan's batting was never the best, and this new lineup is worse, as expected. Imam-ul-Haq's highest score in England in Test cricket was made in this match. The way he got out in the second innings proves that he is not fit to be an opener. Except for Rizwan, none of the batters were able to cross 30 runs. But I expected him to stay at the crease throughout the day. Instead, his actions showed the least professional approach he has ever displayed.
