You can say so since the proper tail end batters managed to hold off the Indian bowlers. I view it as an inability of the bowlers to pick the remaining four wickets on the fifth day of the match. I understand the pitch was behaving oddly for a fifth day, but full props to Sonal Dinusha for his lone performance

I'd have liked if paddikal and dinuska had shared the man of the series award but from award committee's POV. Paddikal performances helped his side to win series but dinuska brilliant performance avoided the whitewash. Both are equally important and deserve credit but result oriented weightage also matters.

I do agree he should have shared the Player of the Series award along with Devdutt Padikkal. You do not always make 420 runs in a two-match series.

I am also eagerly waiting to see how the England bowlers will bowl on that pitch. It was a great bowling performance from Mohammad Abbas, so the entire match depends on how the Pakistan batsmen will play, and I have already placed a small bet on England to win.

36-year-old Muhammad Abbas has done an impressive job, but there is not daily good support for him from the other side, as 33-year-old Muhammad Ali is giving enough runs to too many bowlers, but having him is really weird for me, especially in English conditions.

We rarely see a pitch like that in test cricket. Devdutt Padikkal got player of the series award, but I think Sonal Dinusha deserved it more than him.

He is a talented batting all-rounder. He has scored 420 runs in four innings with three centuries in this series against India which is really impressive. Sonal Dinusha is one of the talented batsmen I see in the Sri Lankan team at the moment. I think if he can maintain his performance like this, he will soon be recognized as one of the best batsmen in the world. When Sri Lanka lost six wickets at the end of the fourth day, it seemed that Sri Lanka was going to be out of the match but finally on the fifth day, the Indian bowlers could not bowl Sri Lanka out and the match was drawn.

Lol, I learned today that Auqib Nabi is an Indian cricketer. Back when I saw him in DC squad earlier in this year's IPL, I thought he's Afghanistani cricketer; I was so certain of my delusions that I didn't even second guess meself but well, it's corrected now.

Management should keep grooming those young talents, he already got the recognition for his performance that alone saved SL from defeat and almost put an end to India in WTC run as well as per the latst report. So it's not like SL got nothing to gain from this series.

As far as India, they did good as well even the newbie did decent but India should have a primary spinner who is capable of wicket taking and by the looks of the last few games they are considering Manav Suthar for that spot.

Yesterday, when England finished the day's play at 258 for eight, I thought that maybe they would be all out by adding another 10 runs, but Josh Tongue played a wonderful innings of 30 runs and enabled England to take it to 290 runs, where England was able to make a great score in the first innings. On the other hand, what can I say about Pakistan, they have already scored 81 runs for the loss of four wickets, where the match may be stopped now due to rain, if the match had started, they could have lost two or four more wickets due to the damp pitch.

Honestly, the recently concluded Aus-Ban test series was one of the highlights for me while the remaining ones including the India-Lanka, Pak-Eng and anything else were boring as hell. We need more such David vs Goliath stories in the test format IMO.

That sort of stuff regularly happens in the T20 format which is primarily why it overtook all other formats in popularity overnight.

The batters of Pakistan, including Babar, do not have the ability or skills to bat on that pitch. They can only bat on flat pitches that are always available at home grounds.

Gradually, Pakistani bowlers lose the legacy of their legend because day two remains very costly for Pakistani bowlers, as they give fifty-plus runs on the last wicket. Pakistan batters are also showing very unprofessional cricket, even big names like Babar and Rizwan, and also Salman and Imam; these batters were the shine of Pakistan. Still, right now they are doing nothing for the reputation of their country, and the whole Pakistani team is out for 110 runs, and only a youngster, Azan Awais, is trying to stabilize the innings but lost his wicket on 46 runs.

Then England batters started the second innings, and here some improvements can be seen by Pakistani bowlers, and this time Khurram Shehzad got two main wickets early on. So according to the current situations, my sympathy is with Pakistan. If they get early wickets like they got all England's wickets on 100, then Pakistan has a target of around 280. If Pakistani batters show courage and chase the target, then there is a little chance for Pakistan to come back in this game otherwise, England is completely dominating right now.

Pakistani bowlers did a good job to restrict England to 291 runs but due to poor batting in first innings Pakistan is surly lose this test and the series. Babar Azam along with his best buddy Rizwan were not able to do anything for the team. The only batsmen who scored runs for Pakistan in first inning was Awais Azan with 46 runs. PCB was not happy with Sky Sports act of doing interview with Imran Khan sons but had zero worries about losing one series after another.

I don't see any difference in the performance of Bangladesh and Pakistan. Oh I forgot that Bangladesh was once East Pakistan. Bangladesh could not score 100+ in both innings in the 2nd Test against Australia. Meanwhile, Pakistan was all out for 110 runs against England.

Pakistan was trailing by 180 runs in the 1st innings, chasing this score was challenging for Pakistan but England scored 81/3 in the 2nd innings which put England ahead by 261 runs. Now the more runs England add to the score, the harder it will be for Pakistan. Unless a miracle happens in this Test, Pakistan's defeat cannot be prevented.

As far as India, they did good as well even the newbie did decent but India should have a primary spinner who is capable of wicket taking and by the looks of the last few games they are considering Manav Suthar for that spot.

They could have also used part-time bowlers to bring some variations in the bowling order. The part-time bowlers can occasionally create pressure on the batsmen. But India didn't have any players in the squad who can be considered as a part-time bowlers. Most of the team uses 7-8 bowlers when it becomes difficult to take the wickets. India had used 5 regular bowlers only till the 150 overs. They used Gill, Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel while it was too late.

What do you guys think about Pakistan's consecutive losses? When any substitute happens, everyone thinks that they will perform differently, but they perform the way they always do. In the second match, Pakistan chased 110 runs in the first innings against a target of 290 runs. Now, in the second innings, England is stuck on 81 runs with the loss of 3 wickets, and the total is 371 runs. If they stand for at least 100 more runs, they will cross 400. Pakistan will have to score over 380 runs in a single match to tie the series at 1:1 and then compete for the final. However, given their performance, Pakistan will likely lose this series too.

In the first match, Bangladesh , who performed poorly in the warm-up match, slayed the Goliath, which was really unpredictable. The odds were above 19 on many sites, and I am certain none of the gamblers had any idea that Bangladesh would win. In the second match, the Goliath killed David without even allowing them to reach three figures in both innings. That being the case in the second Test, Bangladesh made history by winning a Test match and sharing the series with Australia.

That sort of stuff regularly happens in the T20 format which is primarily why it overtook all other formats in popularity overnight.

If a match is competitive, it will be interesting. Most of the time, every team has a home advantage in Test cricket. Whenever there is fierce competition, the game becomes exciting, even in the Test format. Like India's win against Australia in Gabba, England win against Australia in the Ashes and many more matches.
