Rain again and they lost 4 overs of the match. Revised score is 270 from 46 overs. This is getting really boring now with rain ruining matches. I want a result so badly.

Gayle's over I guess. He wasted a review and his strike rate also was poor. Feel bad that such a good player is retiring when he is in such a bad form.

At one time West Indies were looking controlling the run chase but then again the rain made the target almost impossible for West Indian batsmen. They just cannot blame the weather, they should have player much better.

I wonder if anyone expected WI to win any match of this series. WI is a T20 team. We have seen their performance in WC, we are seeing their performance in this series. Against a team like India, they do not stand a chance.

What I am hating about this series is, the rain. Whenever I try to tune the tele I see rain LOL

I had some doubts in T-20 format but not in ODI, despite Indian team doing some experiments with the middle order. But you never rule out Windies team, if there T-20 mindset clicks then they are a destructive team, and that's precisely I want for Last ODI so that we can witness some excellent cricket from both sides, so far this tour is turning out to be boring.

My eyes are on Test series though. I remember when Windies beat the shit out of the English team in Test, so finger crossed lol.

Now we can only wish that the Windies team show some fight back in the Last ODI and Test matches. But as of now, Windies looks weak against the Indians. As an Indian perspective, these easy wins not going to help their cause in the longer run.

You really expect something from this WI team? They are not challenging much even in ODI then how come they will play Test match for 5 days? This WI team is so much into T20 mindset that in future we will see the board will ask ICC a special request that to revoke their ODI and Test status.

There was a time WI used to shit out of any team, not just England. The glories are not there anymore.

India played well against West Indies in yesterday ODI and rightly derive to won’t he match though match was shorten by 4 overs due to DL system coming into the match . But still even if WI had to bat 59 overs they were far behind the target and would not be able to achieved it . WI team will have to come together and play as a unit to register their first win .

I don't expect anything from WI team as they don't have good players and even not a single player can manage to play on behalf of the team and get runs like Smith for Australia and Shakib for Bangladesh. They even did not choose Pollard for what reason God knows. Lewis has been a consistent player but he had to get a 70-80 run partnership to keep getting runs but he also did not manage to do that. Very poor performance.

Not windies team per se. But only their bowling line up against Indian batting on a seaming track. I want to see green seaming wicket for test series even after 3 days. Why should batsmen have all the fun? 

And I don't mind if they kicked out from Test format in the near future, but next question pop-up is who is going to take their spot? There are already a handful of teams taking test format seriously and younger players taking retirement from 5-day cricket here and there for petty reasons, so not a right decision IMHO.

Pollard would have been a better option since he seems to have recovered his form recently. Russell is also a key player who is still recovering from injuries and a player like him could make a big difference in T-20 and ODI formats.

Lewis is good and hence after he got out, things got worse. Now Gayle may retire so they have to choose some better batsmen. Keeping Pollard out in an important match was certainly a bad idea.

Russell too is a great player in T20 and ODI matches but that knee injury is a concern if he will be able to perform well as players take a lot time to recover and then come in form.

There is no doubt that India is much better team than West Indies, but West Indies have players like Gayle who could change a match with his power hitting and if he gets going it is very difficult to stop him, i have seen his performance in a club T20 recently and the way in which he play is incredible, but against Indian bowlers it is a different story altogether but if he plays one good inning we could see an upset  .

What you guys are talking about? The WICB wanted Pollard to play the matches against India. But he refused their request and chose to play in the Global T20 league in Canada (for the Toronto Nationals). Playoff phase is ongoing in GT20 and Pollard told the board that he can't miss those crucial matches. If he don't want to play, then I don't think that the WICB can kidnap him from Canada and bring him to Trinidad in a chartered flight. They need to respect his choice.

This is one of the issues facing WI for many years. The contracted salary is too low to keep these talented players attached to the team. They are some of the best players in the world. You have powerful hitters like Pollard, Russell and Gayle, who are in high demand all over the world, especially for the T20 format. Playing for the national team may be a matter of pride for them, but what choice will they make when the offered salary is less than one-tenth of what they would get playing franchise cricket?

No mention about Gayle playing his last ODI match but mostly people were cheering him for playing his 300th ODI.

BTW, BCCI wants to include cricket in LA Olympics now by 2028. I feel it's a great opportunity if they recognize Cricket also and was wondering what took them so long to include this sport.

He played his 300th ODI which is a big deal and hence there was celebration for that achievement but never heard about his retirement from ODI.

BTW, BCCI wants to include cricket in LA Olympics now by 2028. I feel it's a great opportunity if they recognize Cricket also and was wondering what took them so long to include this sport.

I know that the BCCI is powerful but do they hold they key to play cricket in the Olympics, ICC have the say to those things and not a countries board, the players have to undergo strict drug testing and i wonder how many players will pop if that happens , the only case i remember is Shane Warne and he got suspended for a year for that.

Am not too sure about this news since he basically reversed his retirement decision recently which is why we can't be too sure about these things. He might still have some fuel left in his tank for a couple more matches.

He is easily one of my most favorite cricket players of all time, but he needs to retain his form asap whichever format he continues to play in. West Indies have produced many great hitters over the years, but Gayle is easily the best batsman that they have produced.

Atm everyone speculating about his retirement. As Gayle's fan, It's hard to watch him nowadays because he's playing bad and now he's waiting for Board to kick him out. (JK)

No doubt. May be, he is trying to play some more good innings and then wants to retire from the peak. In fact this is the dream of every player.
