Really! This was looking a T20l match. Bad performance by the New Zealand team. I was thinking New Zealand has already won previous two matches and they will win this match too. But they will perform like this I was not expecting this.

I didn't expect such a bad performance from them either, but this isn't as big a deal as you are making it out to be since this is essentially a dead rubber match due to NZ already winning the series.

This win is a consolation prize for the Bangladeshi fans. Shoriful Islam impressed me the most throughout this series.

Although New Zealand won the series, this win was very important for the Bangladesh team. If Bangladesh did not win today's match, Bangladesh would have been whitewashed by New Zealand. Mind you, he belongs to a batch of the 2018 WC much celebrated trio of Shivam Mavi-Nagarkoti-Ishan Porel and he wasn't picked in the under-19 WC team but look at all of em now. Nagarkoti is nowhere to be seen because of his injuries. Mavi is doing alright but still can't make it to the national level. Porel is just struggling. It tells you more about the character of Arshdeep and surprisingly he's also working on his batting as a tailender.

The case with Kamlesh Nagarkoti is just tragic. I saw some of the India U-19 matches live, and this guy was extremely impressive. He had raw pace and terrified the batsmen, while Shivam Mavi kept things tight from the other end. He never got a chance to represent Indian senior team, and I really doubt whether he will evet get that opportunity. Last time I saw him in action was in 2022, when he participated in the Ranji Trophy for Rajasthan. From what I heard, he has taken a break from active cricket and is concentrating on his studies at this point.

The 2018 batch was quite good Tbh. Nagarkoti was a gun fielder too, only if he was fit enough to play regularly. I think i saw his name in the auction and guess he went unsold.

Mavi is with Gujrat if I am not wrong. Don't know about Porel. Overall it reminds us that transition from u-19 to senior level is not an easy task. Another example would be Gill vs Pritvi, the latter was the captain. All of these guys are from the same 2018 batch ( Riyan Parag too lol)

Honestly, I am not going to say that it was a bad performance from New Zealand. Because if you saw Bangladesh bowling, you would have noticed that even a part-time bowler like Soumya Sarkar was swinging the ball like Mitchell Starc. And even the leg spinner did really well. Bangladesh was bowling like they have the best bowling lineup in the whole world. I don't think any team could have done a lot in this situation. Of course, if this was against India or Australia, probably they could have put more on the board. But still, I don't think New Zealand had actually done a lot wrong in this match. In the second innings, New Zealand did not get as much purchase from the track as Bangladesh did. And that was a little surprising to me, to be honest.
