You are right, everyone thought about this match that India team will easily win the match against Sri Lanka. But the Sri Lankan team players proved everyone wrong with their performance. In this first match of the ODI series, I also thought that the Indian cricket team was the favorite team. In this match, the players of the Indian cricket team played an unexpected game. I never imagined that the players of the Indian team would do so badly against Sri Lanka. However, I am hopeful that the Indian cricket team will surely do something great against Sri Lanka in the upcoming matches of this series.

By the way, I think if there had been the super over then the Indian team could win this because but still there could be hopes from the Sri Lankan to win it. I am saying this because in the last T20 match, there the Indian team playing with full concentration in the super over and also the openers of Sri Lanka could not take pressure except the captain and Kusal Mendis.

Match was very interesting. Because I was not expecting such kind of performance by SriLankan team. Because everyone here was talking that India is stronger team. But SriLanka performance was incredible.
They showed that they can compete with Indian team. We can see the stats of the match.

The Sri Lankan team has really performed incredibly, it must be commendable because of the good performance from the bowling side.  Due to pressure from the bowling side, India lost all the wickets, Mohammad Siraj scored five runs off 11 balls for India. If he could have tried then surely they should have supported the Indian team's victory with the bat. But the Indian team also failed in this aspect, so the Sri Lankan team lost 8 wickets and all the wickets of the Indian team fell.  

Sri Lanka set India a target of 231 runs to win but the Indian team could not reach it, instead they lost all their wickets in 47.5 overs and scored 230 runs. Although the Sri Lankan team bowled well it has to be acknowledged that especially Charith Asalanka and Wanindu Hasaranga bowled exceptionally well with three wickets each. Although the Indian team tried hard enough to win but they could not hold the wicket at the last minute due to which they tied the match with 230 runs losing all their wickets. The first match of the ODI series most people thought India would win easily against Sri Lanka but this match ended in a tied.

Indian team's weak point is revealed here as their wicket fall is high. You will notice that Sri Lankan team has not got a chance to win in the past matches, as happened in the T20I match. But here is the luck of the Sri Lankan team as they tasted victory despite not winning the match.
Because putting pressure on the Indian team is a matter of experience, whereas Sri Lanka was much ahead based on the bowling experience alone. Even though this ODI match was a draw, Sri Lankan team performed relatively well.

This is a one-off occurrence. I honestly don't expect Sri Lanka to perform well in the remaining matches in the series. The gap between India and Sri Lanka is too huge at the moment. On top of that, the Indian selectors sent a full-strength side for the ODI series. Honestly, I don't think that in the remaining matches the Lankan bowlers will be able to contain heavyweights such as Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Indian bowling looks relatively weak when compared to their batting. But then, Sri Lanka could make only 230 against this weak bowling in the first match.

Charith Asalanka played the biggest role as he bowled the Indian team in the 48th over. Wanindu Hasaranga and Charith Asalanka, two important bowlers, have fallen in important places. Because they could not have drawn this match in Sri Lanka if they did not perform properly at the right time, so the situation of the match has been created because of the bowling. But the Sri Lankan team is definitely weaker than the Indian team, because the Indian team squad is much stronger.

Well, I have to say another thing. both of the teams also had given 8  runs as extras. So neither of these teams actually had any kind of advantage from each other.  this was really unexpected because India was in a very good position to win the match. India started to lose wickets  very frequently.  if anything, Sri Lanka started really bad and somehow was able to reach 230  at the end. This should have been a very easy target for India. but congratulations to the Sri Lankan team for actually being able to make it so hard for India and eventually not letting India win. But in the end  Sri Lanka was able to not win but draw the match.

Actualy they are going to celebrate light this is a win for them. Now there is a genuine chance for Sri Lanka to actually draw the series as well. because this is a three match series.  Sri Lanka will have to win only one.

Yeah, In the first ODi game Srilanka played first and made 230/8 runs in 50 overs. Srilanka team's average batting batsman Dunith Wellalage scored 67 runs with seven fours and two 6s while Pathum Nissanka made 56 runs played 75 deliveries and help their team to posted an average target of 331. A. Singh bowled an excellent took two wickets and A. Patel also took two wickets with economy rate of 3. India team batting nicely scored 69 runs in first 10th over of the game. The India team chasing the target not loss ant wicket. india needed 160 runs from the remaining 40 overs. I think it's very difficult for Srilanka to get back and win this game.

The Indian team almost won this match as they made 150 runs and also too many overs remaining. Yes, but there is one thing to be worried about that we are seeing that the Indiana team is losing the wickets fast but still i am sure the Indian team will win this match.

The two good players Axar Patel and KL Rahul are playing but still Sri Lanka could win this match at the same time because KL Rahul and Axar Patel are not playing with that strength and it seems they are not fully confident to play this. I think Shivam Dube has the good role in the team, he made fewer runs but important and crucial runs, that was the last stages of the game and he came to play in the end that is why he has to play well and he played to perfection.

Despite the low score in the match, there was great excitement. Sri Lanka's short runs might have pointed to their defeat, but that was not the case. I think Sri Lanka has been able to show enough skill here. Their bowling was so good that they restricted India to few runs. I wouldn't call India's performance as a team very good in this match as it was supposed to be an easy win for them but it didn't happen. Although neither team lost but there was a chance for India to win. Rohit Sharma was the only Indian batsman who batted with a strike rate of 123. A major factor in not winning the match was the incompetence of the batsmen. Kuldeep Yadav scored only 2 runs off 10 balls and this is where the biggest loss of the match took place. Hope India get a very easy win in 2nd ODI.

We need to have few things in mind as we are playing bilateral series in ODI format we will never have Super Over because this is only for the T20l now as we have this first game ended in tie this is huge booster for the Sri Lanka because they were playing against full strength Indian side and things were clearly favouring visitors for having easy win after restricting Sri Lanka on 230 runs in 50 overs due to quality bowling.

In reply, we have good start for the India as Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill give have 75 runs in just 12 overs but after this we have mini collapse which hurt Indians badly specially at the end players were overconfident which give bring problems for them, and they were not able to end this game as mostly were expected 189 for 6, and then we have 230 for 10 this was big below for them and good fightback for the Sri Lanka they have good all all-rounder Dunith Wellalage 21 years old having good impact on Sri Lanka with bat and ball he needs to be consistent for the future.

The target for India was 231 runs so naturally I thought that India would reach this target very easily but the result of the match was not like that. If India could have scored just one more run they would have won but India's wicket fell after 230 runs and that wicket was India's last wicket and that's where India failed to win the match. India was hot favourite for this game as odd were standing on @1.24 with now in last 10 games which play between these two countries in ODI format we have 8 wins for the India and 1 for Sri Lanka with we have two huge defeats where margin of win for India were over 300+ in last few years we are having huge decline in Sri Lankan quality because they fail to bring suitable replacements of players just because of this now things are already gone on wrong side.

There are still plenty of youngsters those can perform good and bring back their good days back but this all needed good strategy in this game while India were chasing 230 runs we have good batting in early overs but later batsmen were overconfidence which bring them down specially while they were near to win this game we have poor strategy from the Axar Patel and Shivam Dube because these were doing good, and they needed to stand till end, but now they will surely learn from these mistakes.

Sri Lankan team played very well in this match and match was ended with no result and both teams got equal points. Sri Lankan team showed that they are good team because after losing the T20 series they learned many lessons and thr result of that is in front of us. No doubt Indian cricket team is top class team of the World and no body expect that kind of match but the result is different and we saw different result and now there are chances for the equation of series  because only two matches are remaining and Sri Lankan team have to win only 1 match to draw this series.Indian team will try his best to win this series. Yeh to be honest still dube and axar are not fully filled Ravinder jadeja place and importance so I think gambir are much more experience coach so I believe he will sort it out shortly, but the things is who will be replaced in order to make things right, anyway they played worts they give a little bit room to Siri Lankan batter in order to settle down and build partnership especially after they lose 5 wicket under huge pressure, if Indian bowling continue executing pressure on them and restrict them for vital partnership then things will be easily in favor of India. I actually hope that the next match is going to be very competitive. I do not want to see one-sided matches. Because those are not entertaining to me. I like to see competitive matches just like the first match. Even though I do want to see competitive matches, I honestly think that the next match is not going to be that competitive. Because India is going to be ready for a big win in the next match. It is already a shame for India to not be able to win against Sri Lanka when the target was so low. In the next match, they are going to go all-out attack on Sri Lanka and will try to win the match as convincingly as possible.

And if I remember correctly wasting balls was not that big of a problem for India. The biggest problem was not being able to keep wickets in hand.
