Consistency in bowling? He didn't do anything with bat. Honestly IMO, he did took wickets but I did not find anything extra-ordionary in his bowling, spin friendly pitches also played it's role.

If spin friendly pitches helped Parag with this bowling, then why wasn't the same applicable for Washington Sundar, Axar Patel or Kuldeep Yadav? And also, Parag took crucial wickets. He nabbed Avishka Fernando, Charith Asalanka and Dunith Wellalage during the last match.

It was applicable to all spinners, look at previous 2 games the names you mentioned took wickets, Kuldeep could be having 2 wickets yesterday too had Pant wasn't slow with Theekshana's stumping.

With bat, his performance was not that good, but we need to remember that he batted down the order. At no.7, he may not be getting enough time to get settled in. For Rajasthan Royals, he normally bats much higher up.

I don't feel like you. Bhumrah is the most talented and experienced bowler in the Indian team. However, it is not true that the Indian team is completely dependent on Bhumrah, the main reason for India's defeat in this series is the poor performance of their batsmen. Indian batsmen have not batted well in any of the three ODI matches. We have seen bad batting in every match. Apart from Rohit Sharma, no other batsman was in good form. Even in the last match, India lost by a huge margin of 110 runs.

Also I would say Sri Lanka were very lucky in this series. In each match they batted first and Descent provided a target. Indian bowlers had some weaknesses. But I don't think India lost because of the performance of the bowlers. Sri Lanka could not collect 250 runs in any match. It was not a big target for a big team like India. However, Indian batsmen have batted badly in every match. The batting of Gill, Iyer and Dube in particular was very poor. The collection of these three batsmen in three matches is given below respectively...

Bumrah being there would have helped make SL less runs but it was more of a Indian batting failure than bowling, also India winning T20wc was combined effort of whole team, I wouldn't put a single player on pedestal.

The Indian team's performance will not depend on bowling alone, as the opposition will never be able to rely on one player. So they face the same test again and again in the ODI matches, where the Indian team keeps failing again and again in terms of bowling and batting.

In the ODI matches, the Sri Lankan team put as much pressure on the bowling side but the Indian team could not advance in the batting side. Because in the T20I matches, the Indian team had a joint attack due to which they were successful in every match, but in the ODI matches, due to the bad performance in terms of batting, the Indian team fell into a difficult situation.
Especially in the ODI match Rohit Sharma could not control the players enough as the captain, because the batting attack was not right at the right time where the early batsmen performed poorly.

You are right, but I am right too. If Bumrah would have played, I doubt SL would have crossed 200 in any of their matches making it easier for the batsmen to play under less pressure. Chain reaction basically.

Every team match is obviously considered combined effort in literally every sport out there, but some players like Bumrah deserve being put on the pedestal because of their game-changing performances.

Here what I feel that India still needs to shake off the hangover from their T20 World Cup win. In this series, India's bowling was subpar, and their batting was even worse. Their middle order looked especially weak. Sri Lankan bowlers did a great job, while the Indian batters lacked the commitment to win.
Sri Lanka defeated India in the third match, winning the ODI series 2-0 after a long long time. This was one of Sri Lanka's best ODI performances in a while. Winning an ODI series against a full-strength Indian team is not an easy task. Congratulations to Sri Lanka!

Well.. I can agree. But it was a pressure situation, in your own words. By the time Riyan Parag arrived at the crease, 5 wickets had already fallen. He had the huge responsibility to stabilize the situation, with limited resources. When he arrived, India were at 73/5. Then Shreyas Iyer got out to leave them at 82/6. Riyan tried to build a partnership with Shivam Dube, but it was not his day. Anyway, I understand what you are trying to say. If unlimited opportunities can be given to players such as Samson, Arshdeep and Avesh, I don't think that giving a few more chances to Parag will hurt a lot.

After winning T20I world and having win in Zimbabwe we witnessed a first touch series for India, as their batting was completely out of the touch with middle order and lower order were at their lowest level just because of this we see this 2–0 lost for them even their bowling were good, but their batsmen were not on right track.

In three games, we saw 27 wickets for the Sri Lankan spinners; these statics are amazing because we all know how India are having the best quality against spinners but this squad having nothing, and they were down like crap now they should take time for checking their mistakes and fixing them because if they fail to keep things on better level surely it's going to be trauma for them in upcoming series and Champions Trophy. This is historic win for the home team as they are coming out of shadow and having some good development with most chances now things could be back on track for Sri Lanka cricket.

But how can anyone justify the Indian team losing to Sri Lanka? And this was a full strength squad, which comprised of legends such as Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Kuldeep Yadav and Rohit Sharma. The result was different and in both last matches Sri team did first batting and gave 200+ target and Sri Lankan team defend the score very well. In second last match Indian team was very close to win and score was level but Arshdeep did mistake to hit a hot . But in last match Sri Lankan team won the match by 32 runs ahmbd Indian all team out by making 208 runs.Indian team should work on their middle order and low middle order because that is weaknesses of them . Indian team should take batting first and hit good score on board and If Indian cricket team will give good target in today match then we will see different result. Now ,I supporting Indian team because they are hard working and they deserve win in  match.

The Sri Lankan main player Avishka Fernando luck was hard as he was too close to make his century but he was out on 96. Riyan Parag picked his wicket and did a wonderful celebration with Virat Kohli and other players after out him.



The openers of the Sri Lanka team gave a very good start to the Sri Lanka as Pathum Nissanka and Avishka Fernando  made partnership and this partnership broke in the 19th over but until that time, this pair almost made around 100 score, the original one was 89. In short, on 89 score (19th over) the Sri Lanka team lost their first wicket of Pathum Nissanka.

Yes I agree with you. India really needed Bhumrah in this squad. With Bhumrah in the squad, Sri Lanka would not have been able to score 230+ in every match. Sri Lanka lost wickets very quickly especially in the first two matches. Still collected 230+. And a collection of 230+ on this pitch can be called a big target.

We don't see a better performance from an experienced bowler like Mohammad Siraj in this match. He picked up only 3 wickets in three matches. He has scored a lot of runs in every match. Especially in the last match Mohammad Siraj scored 78 runs in 9 overs. The performance of the Indian bowlers was not good even in the match.

On the other hand, the bowling of the Sri Lankan bowlers was very controlled. Wellalage, Asalanka, Jeffrey Vandersay and Hasaranga all performed well. The Sri Lankan team was not dependent on any particular bowler. So the team was able to get good results in all three matches.

I agree that Bumrah is good but India has many other good players in the team too.

I think there is only one player who takes ODI like T20 in the Indian team but if he would take it like ODI then he could play much better but due to the pressure of the team and the opponent, he could not do this.

Yes, he is the one and only Rohit Sharma  .  Except of him, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Sheryas Lyer, Axar Patel, everyone is not in form and they take ODIs like test match and fastest they are losing wickets, also not with the good and high strike rates. They are playing slow and Shivam Dube has also done nothing in this match too, i think Shivam Dube is only able to play test matches or leagues.

Honestly, I didn't thought that Bumrah was needed for the Lankan tour. But then things didn't turned up that well. Siraj was inconsistent, and at times he leaked plenty of runs. Arshdeep Singh and Khaleel Ahmed are still not up to the level of tier-1 bowlers. Ideally the BCCI should expand their pool of pacers and think about other deserving bowlers. Arshdeep, Khaleel, Avesh.etc have got enough chances till now.

As such the ODI format has lost it's relevance. Everyone focuses on T20 format now, and the remaining attention is eaten up by test format. On paper, India sent a strong squad for the ODI series. Indians became a bit complacent, and given the recent performance of the Lankans you can't actually blame them. But then Sri Lanka got their basics right and went on to win the series.

Why he is not performing? Just over confidence.

Sad ending of ODI competition for Indian sqaud they faced a very bad defeat in ODi competition after playing amazing in T20I competition against same sqaud Sri Lanka and whitewash them in T20 Format competition. But in ODi competition, their squad made an excellent comeback and India surprised by their performance in all matches. In third match, scores of Sri Lanka squad in Defeating target was not much high Infront of India Strong sqaud but Sri Lanka bowlers did not allow Indian batters to achieve their Defeating target of 248 scores. All batters of Indian sqaud was wiped out at 138 scores and lost third match as well this competition with 2 lose and one drawn.
