Most of the best player in the Philippines did not play because of injury or even worse their mother team in PBA did not allow them to play. Philippine basketball should have a program that will allow player to prioritize their nation and set aside business oriented teams when FIBA and Olympic games are scheduled.

Sorry but the guy who posted before you is completely right - yeah, you may have some "okay" players but  obviously... the roster is not even closely as good as the ones of the top teams in this tournament... you will get trashed by any "solid" basketball nation

Just accept the fact that though basketball is a beloved sport in the phillipines, filipinos are simply not built for it. Skill-wise yes, but other countries have the same skill level and more have even better skill level. Plus the system itself i think isn't really made to be a long term system. You can't always beg for professional players' mother teams. Look at the bracket where team ph is included, at the onset, you'll see there's little to no chance of beating serbia and italy.

issue here i think is the advantage gaps between one another.

That's sad but true. Nevertheless, we're still happy even with the slightest chance of getting the trophy because basketball for us is not only a profession but a passion. It is already a part of our lives. At least we can see that we are improving, we able to cure the curse of Korea plus our ranking go up every year (currently Rank 18) so it's still a considered win after all . Tunisia fought really hard against Spain during the first match. But during the 3rd and 4th quarters, they underwent a meltdown and in the end lost the match by a big margin. And I don't think that there is any chance of an upset during the Italy vs Angola match. Italy is way too strong for them and the African teams are not performing really well in the tournament so far. On paper, Poland is stronger than China. But we need to take in to account the home advantage as well.

They are +36.5 against Serbia, that's too high but after what the Philippine Team showed against Italy, I think it's still another big loss for the Philippines.
