Got rekt with that US vs Greece game so here is my take on the coming match-up between Greece and Czech Rep....

US had a hard time beating Czech Republic,
Greece loses to Brazil on a thriller,
US dominated Greece,
Czech Republic dumped Brazil,
So with ^^ game results i am convinced that Greece would be having a hard time against Czech Republic and i'm betting on that and if bookies would have Greece as the favorite, i would gladly take the handicap in case the game would be close.

IMO, Greece is over hyped with the leadership of Giannis, he can't do it alone and he need help, someone who could knock down those open 3's to loosen the defense thrown by the opponent on Giannis. Fearless forecast, Greece won't make it to the semis.

Apart from him, only Calathes is a player that has a great performance in the tournament. Sloukas is mediocre and all others haven't shown any positive progress.

I was disappointed with that they showed as well, I thought they were able to give a good game against the US but its unfortunate that they got dominated. With the betting line between the Greece and the Czech Republic, I believe the value is on the Czech Republic here.

I would bet on Czech Republic ML and will take the point spread at +9.5.

The performance they showed yesterday, it not a good one for a team that wants to win the world cup title. My expectations for Greece now is to finish around the 8th place. Unless, Giannis will find the strength to win the match against Czech Republic by himself.

In order to qualify for the next round (QF), Russia needs to defeat Venezuela by a good margin, and Poland needs to be beaten by Argentina. The Diff between Russia and Poland is 6 and 36. It's going to be very tough for Russia.

No way... Calathes is not at its best form that's for sure. But still he is a lot better than any other player in the team (except Giannis).
In any case, we can agree that apart from Giannis there is not any player who can drive the team in a winning streak.

No way... Calathes is not at its best form that's for sure. But still he is a lot better than any other player in the team (except Giannis).
In any case, we can agree that apart from Giannis there is not any player who can drive the team in a winning streak.

That's right only Giannis is playing well in their team but if Calathes will play his a-game against Czech republic then maybe they can pull that one through.

First real test for Serbia so far in this tournament (if we don't count the game v Italy) against a very-well coached and fundamentally sound team of Spain. Not sure if yall noticed but that mixed zone defense (3-2 and 2-1-2) slowed down the Serbians early in the second quarter and helped Spain make a comeback and take the lead. All that said, i think Jokic and co will clutch a win in the second half (2.00 odds atm). Serbia should reconsider leaving Rubio open on purpose at the 3pt line.

It's unbelievable what the referees did in that situation. It is obvious to anyone who watched the match that Gobert touched the rim, obvious case og goal-tending. It's pretty disappointing that things like this can happen on the biggest of stages.

So crazy really. Serbia seemed to be undefeated in the start of the world cup.
Now Spain is winning easily... I hope that Serbia is going to make the comeback in the 4th period...

Spain making things tough and really taking the charge though there's still enough time if they can rally back, but it seems that Spain is hanging and keeping it trying to protect and make this one out for them. There's still a lot of possibilities, knowing Serbian, as a whole, will do whatever it takes to come back from behind and win this one.

Will wait for the final buzzer and see who's going to win this game, unexpected things can happen from this two competitive teams.

Chezch team could be good but it all depends on how Giannis plays after a while. I mean if Giannis plays like MVP Giannis then Chezchia have no possible way to keep it under 12 points. Don't get me wrong there is still a chance of that happening but its not up to Chezchia to make it happen, its up to Giannis, so at this very moment the result depends on Greece not Chezchia, they will play like they always play, a good all around team play but in the end if Greece outplays their current system and plays better than they have the talent to beat them easily.

I am not saying it will be +20 point difference but 12+ is quite possible. They haven't utilized Giannis properly so far, I just can't understand what the coach of greece is thinking, if he can utilize him then there is a chance.

Serbs did not respond well to adversity, especially Jokic who lost his cool and was ejected on what was clearly a foul against him. Looking at the bright side, this loss could serve as a wake-up call for them, not everything will be a cake-walk from here on now.

The ejection of Jokic cost them the game. It was a close match in the first half and when Jokic was thrown out of the game that's when Spain took advantage of. Also Ricky Rubio played well for their team.

What I was thinking about this Greece USA game is why is Giannis benched in the last quarter of action? He is playing decently and why he is not in the game to chase the lead? Or is it because of Smart defense of USA and Smart's defense on him?

With Serbia and Spain, is Serbia is eliminated? I can't believe that they shocked Serbia with their performance.

Actually our coach - for some reason - had already given up the match even though we were "only" 10 pts behind, he let Giannis and others on the bench and did not even try to steal the game...

Anyway, regarding tomorrows match vs Czech republic. Obviously the Czechs are in the drivers seat... but and there is a big but... If Greece is going to play strong defense again and improves offensively - its actually impossible they wont improve, so bad it was vs USA - then there is a big chance Hellas beats the handicap. The team has much more experience, especially in such do or die matches and has the better roster. Yes, I am Greek and I hope I will be right but what I am saying makes sense... I guess

Yesterday's Spain vs Serbia match fucked up everyone's permutations and combinations. No one expected Serbia to go down, although Spain is no minnow. This world cup have been full of surprises. First we had the United States taken to the overtime by Turkey. Then we had an upset win by Brazil over Greece. And now we have the favorites Serbia beaten by Spain.

All of us were expecting that Serbia will be topping the Group J. But it was Spain who finished first. That means that the first quarter final will be between Argentina and Serbia and the second one will be between Poland and Spain. Spain got a relatively easy opponent and now Serbia will have to play hard to overcome a strong team like Argentina.

Oddsmaker thinks the other way around maybe because Greece had the NBA MVP.

I would be on the Czech here for the x4 on my money and it would not be an upset if they will win this game. Crazy FIBA World cup so far, fans expectations and assumptions getting derailed and one of those is that USA and Serbia will meet in the semis not in the finals (if ever they meet). Spain would be taking the easier way to they finals and they are at 6.60 odds at the bookies right now, worth the take.
