Anyway, let’s continue watching. We’ve seen teams make big comebacks before, so it’s still possible.
I thought the comeback was real because Phoenix somehow managed to cut the lead to single digits. But we’re now in the fourth quarter, and ROS is leading by 12 points with just over five minutes left. It’s still possible for Phoenix to win, but ROS looks like the hungrier team tonight. They’re currently on a losing streak, so they’ll do everything they can to finally end it.
Phoenix fell short. Although they managed to cut the lead, there wasn’t enough time to complete the comeback. They failed to outscore ROS by enough points in the fourth quarter, which allowed ROS to secure a seven-point victory. Phoenix were probably around +10 on the live handicap when they were down by 20 points. Anyone who took that line was able to cash out, so congratulations.
That result gave ROS their first win and Phoenix their first loss.
Yeah, the comeback didn’t continue because ROS found a way to stop Phoenix. They knew that if they lost this game, it would become more difficult for them to qualify.
This tournament has a different format. I just checked the standings and saw that there are Group A and Group B. I’m not completely familiar with how it works, but I believe the teams in the same group will play against each other first. The teams from the two groups will only face each other once they qualify for the next round.
This format looks more exciting compared to the usual tournament setup.
