So I've been wondering a lot time now why some people choose to play lottery which is made in such a way that it's statistically impossible to win and not any other game that gives about 49% chance to win? In online crypto-gambling there are a lot of such services.

Personally I'd advice against gambling overall (ye I know I wear a gambling signature at the moment!) but if someone insists on playing something without thinking or using skills, then why not buy a random stock? That'd give them 50% chance to win and with some research they could increase this chance.

One main reason I can think of is probably low stakes, high rewards. We all know that greediness is, by default embedded within a human's psyche, ergo rendering us hungry for a high roll without risking a lot in the process. This has been pretty evident to the nature of gamblers, though there are still people who are willing to go nuts to chase losses etc. There also goes the factor of "feeling lucky" that some people carry on with them. It's a flawed belief, but given the low stakes of a lottery, why not go for it and hope to hit the jackpot, aye?

Great video but I don't think those who are an addict in a lottery will give in, some of my friends I've known have won the lower prize and I tell you, you have to kill them for them to stop betting, they are not going to stop, and of course those poor people whose only salvation is hitting the jackpot even if they don't have a chance to win.

I don't think that's the real reason why people bet in a lottery. Maybe the instant money that they are hoping for is the reason they want to do it. Common people for sure don't think about how many percents the chance of winning is but instead thinking that they could win because of their beliefs. I know some people who have wasted a lot of money with continuously buying lottery tickets in the hope of winning the grand prize.

Hope you realize everyone gamble in one way or the other, gambling general isn't bad but when you get obsessed with it which results to addiction is when it becomes bad. Back to your topic, The only reason I can think of why gamblers might prefer choosing lottery Instead of anything else is because they're feeling lucky, personally I only play lottery when I'm feeling lucky. We all are advising most of the readers here to insist on gambling but it turns out most of them are already addicted to it.

Nice video though, it is funny especially the part where he said, "6-9-6-9-6-9" so proudly and the guy is like "uughh!", well I think people are used to that joke nowadays. Anyway, that is so true, they are not thinking how much they can spend in 5 years since it is a small amount of money this day. I also play the lottery and people like me play the lottery because if I win the jackpot it answers all my needs, and unlike all the other form of gambling I only need to win once, and that is the jackpot, to become financially free , compare to other forms of gambling, you can win many times but your winnings are nothing compared to the lottery jackpot prize if you hit it.

The good thing about lottery is the participants are sure that 99%+ of the total collected amount would go to users. They are not playing against the house and the house just collects a commission from the winners.
I don't think there are any online gamblers that just sticks to lottery and nothing else. Though lottery is fun, it has a lot of passive time and has no thrill between buying of tickets and the draw.
