It is very hard to start or earn crypto without invesying or mining even though trading, why? Simply because if you do not invest in cryptocurrency then probably you don't have any capital so how you will earn money from that? Actually there's a lot of articles which can help you in some ways to earn crypto without mining and I am one of those, as I am not really into mining as I think it is too costly, and I am more on savings my profit as I wanted to have a traditional income more than anything else. Almost dead means that there are good ones. Require special skill is something that can be learned. Even with your post conclusion is the same, who wish to earn will find a way, who doesn't wish will find an excuse.
There are ways to earn some amount in crypto, some little amount with what you can work with. Faucets are waste of time, but do 100 faucets for couple weeks and you can have more than couple dollars! You can use that amount and try to trade, to try to invest in some other coin.

Bounty is nice to freely get some crypto but is also best way to waste your time if it turns out as scam.

Airdrop for me happens to be a better means because it takes lesser or no time at all if you register.

I personally think a mix and match of both bounties and airdrops are good and I do both in my spare time when I can. You could also open a youtube channel and do things you like doing and have a tip jar in your channel for Bitcoin and your favorite cryptos. I am thinking later on to start my own music and culture/travel/ cooking channel and maybe just have a tip jar or open a Patreon account to get subscribers, so the money maybe I earn from that I can travel around and provide really funky content. That's something I would love to do in the future anyway. I think we need to spend more time on what we like doing and develop our talents and skills, then I believe naturally the income and money will come when you provide real value for others, a product or a service. There has to be both give and take in any relationship and that includes our relationship around crypto.

The Cryptocurrency market is large and I will love to say there are many ways to earn crypto without investing or mining. Well some of the way I know is through participating in bounties and filling airdrops. These are absolutely free but needs more of your time to do it. Another way to earn crypto is by helping some project as a community manager in telegram groups, like answering questions and helping those having problems whenever they complain in the main project groups.

If you have so much time to waste its all good to use these blogging platform. Its not really worth unless you have a good number of subscribers and you can promote the articles you have. I'm not a good writer myself so it must why I find it a waste of time. My choice would just be to join bounty campaigns to write articles for the new projects doing crowdfunding.
