Well there are tons of professional poker players that manages to win hundreds of thousands, if not millions in one seating/tournament. There are also those who live off purely of betting on sports and/or other events. One notable person I follow who lives his life through playing poker professionally is Erik Seidel. We all know his magic hands and how much WSOP bracelets he have in his arsenal (. You also have Daniel Negreanu who bagged 6 WSOP bracelets and was considered one of the best poker players in 2014. It is possible though again, you need to have an extreme amount of luck, experience, skill, and of course, starting money in order to live off your life with just gambling.

Perhaps, some people live from gambling, but I am not sure about the number of them. I am sure that there are professional gamblers who are playing gambling and make money from gambling. But I think they don't expose who they are especially for people who can make a thousand dollars from gambling. That is difficult to become a professional gambler because we need to master the games. We need to have much experience in the games, and that will need a long time before we can be a professional gambler.

Gambling is a multi-billion dollar business, the governments are running gambling casinos to fund their various projects, business corporations create cities for gambling and we all the know one president whose business is running casinos.

Gambling creates jobs and of course, there are professional gamblers who can make millions in one night along, these are high rollers who make a living as a professional gambler, they can do these because some of them are loan sharks who lend money to his fellow gamblers.

Some gamblers have developed a strategy of their own that they can employ to win in gambling, they may not always win every night, but they make sure their winnings compensate for their losses.

It is been ages, since from the  beginning of a new era, and I bet from medieval period there are already gamblers, and yet I haven't encountered gambling as a profession, like what other profession needs, a college degree. Why is it there are no such things, courses and subjects for gambling where the student must know all sorts of gambling and be an intern in the casino. I know there are courses in some cybers sport already, and cyber sports are only just showcased recently.

Indeed there was some of people who can make living from gambling but as far i know currently most of professional gamblers commonly poker gamblers which is some of them can make living from it because they were became the champion on particular poker tournament and if i'm not mistaken the last world poker tournament winner belong to Hossein Ensan that he can able to won the prize with million dollar

There is but it won't survive, gambling as a profession is not easy to sustain your daily income or the things makes worst if you lost everything you had. There is no stable profit on gambling if this is the way of living. I have friends that the source of income is only n gambling but after a year his life makes ruin and become miserable life. All savings are gone and next all his properties had gone. Nevertheless, gambling is not mean for a profession in living it is intended for fun only.

Gambling for living is like a joke for me. You aren't supposed to think you can make same amount or higher everyday / month or year from gamble. I believe you can only win in gambling when you are lucky, and its only happened few times.

There is a lot, to be honest.

If you do not know, there are a lot of tournaments out there that you might not know, of course, the most popular nowadays is the esports tournament but poker has a lot of tournaments too and we are also talking about thousands and millions of price here. As far as I know, there are a lot of people that won and lost here so I guess it is really safe to say that there a lot of there out there, gambling as their profession.

Besides professional pokers, I know some one in our neighbourhood that truly relies on gambling (cock-fighting) as his source of income. I know this for a fact because he is the father of my best friend. I grow up with his families and know this personally. And all of them are professional know, finished their college and a degree holder and employed to, you wouldn't believed it, a casino, how ironic...

I doubt that there are really people who lives off gambling winnings alone. Even the professional gamblers must have some investment somewhere else. Those huge winnings they get may sustain them for one year or two but gambling alone won't feed anyone for a decade or more.

In my reasoning a professional gambler doesn't totally mean the only job they do is gambling but gambling could be or is their main source of income. These gamblers can have other sources of income especially as those sources of income could serve as a revenue for capital rasing for their gambling profession.

Understandable we have professional sport women and men who are also professional gamblers most common cases can be found in the boxing and horse racing professions etc.  So to answer your question, Yes there's such a thing call professional gamblers but I doubt gambling would be their only source of income.

There are people earning out of gambling apart from pokers. Particularly using the cryptocurrency accepted gambling websites there were more people making an earning for their living. This is truly an unstable way as we don't know when things gonna change inverse. Even when someone is earning big through gambling a day job is the one that makes living more comfortable.

We can't guarantee stable and continous income from gambling due to no assurance of daily lucky wins. Sometimes we win, but mostly losses could likely to occur specially when luck wasn't really for us. That's not a wise idea to make it as your profession, and if you live your life out of gambling much better to treat that as a past time and no serious commitment.

There are many people who live off gambling and one of the best in my opinion is Phil Ivey. This guy used his brain to literally grab a edge against the house by working with one of their own people in order to amass huge profits.

The house tried to sue him multiple times, but he gets away cleanly majority of the time. He is just one example. There are many others like him primarily in games of skill(Poker, Sports betting etc).

Hmm possible and I think those people are the one who was born rich already, son/daughter of huge businessmen or even well known poker stars. On the other hand, I highly doubt that "rags to riches" kind of people with the right wisdom in life (not greedy or strong against vices) will become addicted to gambling or let's say become professional gamblers simply because they know the importance of money — that it was very hard to earn but can lose in a glimpse. I'm pretty sure they won't risk what they had right now which to a place which may probably lead them back to becoming poor once again.

I believe it's not impossible to treat gambling as a profession but I believe there's only few can do that and they don't announce their success online.
I have been trying to become one of them but I have reach my limit already and proven this is not good for me and I should shift to trading instead of focusing in gambling where my future is not bright.

It's possible for someone to become a professional gambler and make a living but as many mentioned there's only a few of them maybe 0.0. One reason only a few succeed because it's difficult to have a profitable record when you're gambling most of the time.

Just go on and get this thought out of your head before you take a horrible turn into reality.
Professional gambling is only something you see in the movies and I would be very shocked if there were more then a handful of pros who actually post on the internet
Unless they are trying to sell you picks that is 
Some may claim to be professional poker players buy again its not very common and the select few who find success in doing so are not very public about it.

There are really people that gambling is their profession. They are not just ordinary gamblers, they have the proper discipline and mindset when they are having a losing streaks in gambling. They are not just someone who is addicted into gambling, they are wealthy enough to treat gambling as a career.

I think that this is an impossible task to achieve.I know there are many people who claim to be gambling professionals but it is impossible to predict luck so I think no one will always have good luck and win in gambling continuously.

Sure there are Pokerstar players which we see on Tv but they are sponsored from big companies,they are professionals but they get paid from sponsoring companies as if they relied on gambling only they can't make it in the long run.
