Gambling as a profession: there's people who live out of gambling?

I've came across an article online written by a gambler whom was pointing out to himself as a professional gambler/bettor and it is clearly possible to be like him if you accept to take the risk.

Accepting the risk and taking more time to fulfill your desire, there's always a good way if you seek more deeper.
Most of those who failed are the one who wanted to take the shortcut ending up losing more instead of winning.

I'm not a gambler, even if i'm sometimes doing it for fun and not spending these profits on real life things,

Better not to engage if you are doing it only to have some fun, money can be use to other stuff if you've got some luck to win.

I might just buy gift cards with them or something like that but people in Las vegas for example made millions out of poker, football and dice betting which includes a huge risk pourcentage.

They are well aware on what they've doing that's why it's okay with them to spend those amount of money to stake with gambling.

I don't understand how anyone can live out of gambling, as the potential returns are very uncertain and there is a real chance of getting losses. Personally I haven't came across anyone in my friend circle, who considers gambling as a profession. I don't have anything against gambling (as I am a gambler myself), but it is impossible to make a living out of it.

During this year had being gambling larger than before beacuse in lockdown where you cannot move out so this was an entertaining resort left with . So overall when I see my stats goes in a negative side only and in previous years too when gambled was in loss. It really needs courage to do this full time and some good bank balance which can help you to pay bills even if you do not make money . Requires a lot of risk and all the luck to make it happen in gambling and survive just on it .

Even if you want to be professional gambler, you do not need to quit your job unless you want to gamble 24/7 (I doubt someone will do it). I'm serious, but I would not do that if I'm not certain yet that I can trust my skills to be profitable in sports betting. As a gambler, it's our ultimate dream to make money in gambling and if we feel we have the skills, why not try to make our journey?

I admire that kind of attitude, honestly, only few people really think they can make money from gambling "consistently", most of them think they can only win with luck, and yet they are still very aggressive with what they are doing, reason why they loss serious money.

If you are serious with getting in gambling as a job, you should carefully plan everything, start with proving to yourself first if you are be profitable or not, and be honest so you'll know your real score.

But if other people trying to follow their steps, that will not easy as they need to have those things, but they will have a chance to lose their money. That's a nice observation. Imo, it's almost impossible to learn from the successful pros how to gamble, because the pros themselves don't how to win constantly. They all have their ups and downs, and that's why the "leader-board", so to speak, is filled with new names on a regular basis, while the former leaders are no longer there.

In short, I think it's extremely risky, and overall not advisable to choose gambling as your profession.

It's not impossible to live out of gambling where we get our income from there, although it may be a rough path. Of course, we do dream of earning money in gambling that's why we gamble in the first place. But being a professional gambler will probably require a lot of experience and knowledge since you also need to be good with your funds, not only in games. Playing poker need to have good strategy if you want to win for long term. It needs to have skills and long experience to win continuesly it is not the same as other gambling games which is pure luck .in poker you need to have good experience in playing it many times and use what you have learned to beat others players .

It is not the same in other games that only base in pure luck.

It's possible but tough to succeed. There are people who managed to use this venue of activities to live a life, people who dedicate their time in quest of right patterns and skills to win over other gamblers / house if possible.

It's undeniable that this people are existing, some might quitely playing and enjoying while some tries to exposed their life in hope that

it does happen and i believe those who are into sports betting are more likely to have this kind of lifestyle. if you breath the sports that you are into, the chance of winning is really high. there are even a lot of articles tackling how to make living with sportsbetting. you can easily search that in google. but when it comes to classic games such as dice, keno, roulette, slots. the chance of losing is high as it is based on luck. so you can never make a living out of these games. or better yet, once you got the jackpot from playing on these games, better get out and look for stable business or job.

You can do it in skilled based type of games, but not on luck based games, like the games you stated. Making a living in sports betting or in poker, those are the games I heard only possible to do, or in black jack if you are good in card counting which is prohibited in most casinos.

I guess focusing in sports betting is just the right thing to do, at least you can just stay at home, study the games and analyze it, very fit for the current set up under the covid-19 pandemic.
