Gambling as a profession: there's people who live out of gambling?

It depends, I guess because as far as I know, there are professional poker players and they become rich while playing poker and also I think these professionals are successful because they are wise enough in their gameplay and in managing their profits, however, i'm not sure in other gambling games if there is the same as professional poker players because I think other games are mainly luck unlike poker so you can't use any strategy to win.

Personally I know lot of people who were gambling everyday but not sure they can be called as professional gamblers or not.

SInce they are working somewhere from 9 to 5 then use their salary to gable everyday with the hope of making more money.Sadly they keep doing it without reaching their goal.

Yes there are professional gamblers and most of these "professional gamblers" are resourceful and knows what to do
when they lose or when they are financially bankrupt. among all the professional gamblers there are only a few of them
who are successful and living debt free.

I do not know how possible it is for one to live solely on gambling, one can make a lifetime living off it if you actually get lucky to win probably millions through betting, such amount can last one a very long time.

But having no money on you and devoting all your time to just gambling and taking it as a job is actually bad as you'll actually be unable to take care of your bills.
It's highly difficult to work simply as a gambler with no prior large amount of money.

In the current time, there are actually people who gamble as their main source of income (i.e. professional poker players, etc.) but I highly advise to follow the same pattern. Making gambling as your profession is like putting your whole life in a wheel, wherein the road is unpredictable with all ups and downs along the way.

For further proof, check our the present day and the people who gamble. Most of them are people who are struggling financially but still, they gamble as their last resort. Making this your main source of income may only give you a potentially dangerous life. If you really want to pursue this path, then get ready for the future as this may give you unexpected results.

There are really people that gambling is their profession. They are not just ordinary gamblers, they have the proper discipline and mindset when they are having a losing streaks in gambling. They are not just someone who is addicted into gambling, they are wealthy enough to treat gambling as a career.

I agree, because everywhere we can see a lot of gambling, they depends their income on gambling, and thats why some others people are addicted on gambling, but not all, because they know know to control their selves and have a right timing. They cannot live without gambling, because its already part of their life.

Well, although both of you are correct I think for me, gambling is not a profession. A sort of just only for fun and not by the intention of gaining money. Maybe there is, but I don't think how they can survive or maybe they had another source of income not just only relying on gambling. Indeed, we had different stories here but one thing that only I can advise, just moderate your self in always having gambling do first the most priority budget plan before the gambling.

Absolutely there are professional gamblers who are dedicated to the gambling industry and they are all succeeding with their strategies and methods. Basically those in the traditional gambling settlement are the real gambling professionals because they give all their attention to ensure they never lose or lost in a huge way.

I think it will start out that way. When you are playing poker in the weekends for fun but the profits surpasses your monthly earnings it will give you the opportunity to make poker your main source of income.

It doesn't need to be your main source of income because the earnings from games like poker like winds we never know when it will blow on our side and against our side.Better never consider it  as main source of income if we want to live better life without debts.

Yes it do exist.

Even people do know that gambling is a game of luck but there were actually people who do make a living with it.
Specially to those who do play poker and sportsbet.It do sounds impossible but these people actually exist.

For me this cannot be considered as profession for the rest of our lives, since it can't give us the affirmation to have financial source. There could be times you watch out for misfortune of your bets, so it's not a healthy financial way of making money for a living. Living in a gambling world, couldn't give us a manageable salary yet it could likewise give fun and fervor. Always do have gambling as your amusements however, not a reliable source of financial security.

In real life i have known of a person whose source of income to feed his family is gambling. Unbelievable and funny but that is the truth, everyday he travel to places where cockfights are being held. It's not smooth sailing everyday for him but he and his family have learned to lived with it. Gambling as a source of income is risky and unstable and will not work with most of the people in the community as it's not part of the norm of the society.

You can be in the gambling industry to make a living, but obviously not as a player. If you were a professional player, you could work as a fraud/cheat detector and catch those thieves in action. Or, you can also work as a card dealer.

The other option, If you got a skilled gamble like "Poker".

You can try to participate with an international poker tournament, But not all gamble game can get a tournament. Until now i only see a poker tournament for a gambling game.

Just my two cents over here. People who consider them selves as a professional gambler were/are already rich before they even started to gamble. Most of the people can afford to lose because of their vast wealth. I have heard stories about rich people becoming poor due to gambling and making some regrettable mistakes.
Most of the gamblers have a main business that gives them steady flow of money. I doubt there are any people who would risks themselves financially each and every day.

There are professional gamblers, that's what I know. But I am not sure if they are living solely out of their gambling prizes. For sure, even the professionals lose. And as far as I can observe, those who are gambling with high bets have stable sources of huge income. They can spend all their days gambling because they can fully support it. If you are living only on your gambling wins, I doubt if you can sustain your life as a professional gambler. The tide is not always on your side, after all.

Yes their are people who are making a living out of gambling, they are a high roller and special people in the casinos, they are separated from other casinos players, I believe they are well provided because they spent millions playing in their casinos, every casinos have their own high rollers, this is the reason why people keep playing big time in casino to be one of them.

As far as I know, yes there are. There are even poker tournaments these days, right?

But I think that even those "professional gamblers" don't solely rely on gambling to sustain their living. Gambling is risky, its results are always unpredictable. So if you really want to be one, you must have a stable source of income. And I don't think it's right to rely on gambling alone to live.

Of course there are, those who are professionals in gambling are people who can manage their emotions and finances. How can, when they lose a few chips they will stop and when they get a target profit they also stop. Lest we be too ambitious and greedy.
