Wow Castellanos, got a hattrick against Real Madrid. Girona lead very well at halftime with a score of 2-1 and 2 goal scored by Castellanos, I'm a bit surprised they were able enough to scored 2 at halftime against Real Madrid. But right now Girona got the score again by this man Castellanos and current score is 3-1, it seems like Ancelotti will must be to think hard in this match, because his squad can be conceded by 3 goals.

Now 4 goals from Valentin Castellanos, today is probably one of his best days in football. Which player has scored 4 goals in one match against Real Madrid? Is there anyone who has ever done that? After this game today, i am sure h be seen by big clubs, which hasnt happened before. When i look at how often Real have the ball, it is strange that they let in 4 goals. Real Madrid's defeat today was Ancelotti's big bluender in determining the line-up against Girona. They should have realized that it was very difficult for Barcelona to beat Girona, who at that time was playing at the Estadi Montilivi, then Real Madrid were humiliated by 4 goals from one Girona player in one match.

Real Madrid probably underestimated Girona too much in that match so they had to be satisfied enough to go home with a 4-2 defeat to a team that was previously said to be weak against Barcelona. I think the highest domestic league in Spain, the Laliga seems and appears to be far from the reach of Madrid after losing against Girona, and their rival Barcelona closing in on the title but I believe Madrid is keen on keeping their rhythm to best prepare for the champions league semi-final against Manchester although Madrid played very well controlled the ball they had three chances to break the deadlock 10 minutes into the game but failed to, Girona played a great game against a great team.

Of course a defeat like this is very embarrassing and very disappointing for me. To be honest, I never felt that we had to suffer a heavy defeat and fail to prevent one player from scoring 4 goals in this match, but I no longer expected Real Madrid to really focus on La Liga since Barcelona created so many points advantage.

For me, Real Madrid have to prevent defeat like this when they are favourites. I might not mind if Girona won 1-0 at home, but not 4-2. Ancelotti has to take responsibility for this match, I really have to be humbled by the result.

Its quite clear that they won't win the LA liga because their performance in the league has been quite confusing as they constantly drop points in matches that are not convenient enough. But you can't say this for their brilliant performance in the champions league, it seem that real Madrid are a totally different team when it comes to the champions league and if I hadn't known better I would have thought that they lost this match on safety reasons prior to the semi final clash they have with the most inform teams in the world at of now which is Manchester city.

It has been repeatedly said throughout this thread now that Real Madrid isn't fully focused on La Liga anymore and I don't get why people are still surprised that Real Madrid isn't performing at the top level in a competition where there is nothing to be won anymore? The La Liga title was gone weeks ago. That doesn't mean they should stop playing soccer altogether, which they didn't and they are also able to win their games even when they play at only 90%, but if I were the coach of Real Madrid, I would also signal to my players that it is important to stay healthy rather than taking risks as if it still was all about the title. It isn't and Ancelotti knew that for a while and the players knew it as well. It is all about the Champions League and the Copa del Rey and if they win it both, they have had another huge season despite the performance in La Liga.

They were fighting to check whether they can qualify for Europa League while Real Madrid is not fighting for the Laliga title again because they have already given up the title to Barcelona. What they already need is to keep maintaining the second to the third position of the Laliga table so as to qualify for the champions league next season

Yes, this defeat was indeed a nightmare for Real Madrid, the tendency that can be said in this match is Real Madrid weak point when Benzema is absent. I don't know exactly if they deliberately gave in because they have nothing in the La Liga. In fact, that's not a strong reference for assessing the results of this match because they still play professionally but the hosts are stronger than them in this match.

Agree. It is unacceptable that Real Madrid was defeated with 4 goals. Real Madrid should win the match because they are stronger and they need 3 points to secure 2nd place. Even though they don't really focus on La Liga, losing with a striking score like this is quite outrageous.
They were the favorites and their squad that was deployed in this match was actually mostly the core squad but the defeat was quite striking.
They still need points to secure their place in the top 2 and this defeat has hampered them a bit in distancing themselves from Atletico's pursuit.
It's a bit of a shame even if the reason for not being too focused is acceptable but still it's really hard to digest for a club like them.

I think the reason to focus with Manchester City for this can't be a reason that makes sense because even if they want to keep the players fit but come on the semi-final is still very long because it will happen in the 2nd week of May and that means there is still 2 more weeks for that.
Madrid had too much fun in attack so they forgot about the defense area which was actually a bad thing for them.
