That is a good plan from Barcelona if true, De Jong has been an important player in the squad since he was brought in from Ajax. Barcelona wants De Jong to stay longer because he is a midfielder who is really needed in the squad, but of course there are other players who will be sacrificed considering that Barcelona needs a large budget if they plan to extend their contract and rejuvenate their squad.
