They had a good run until the last few games of the first half of season and the second half. The double lose against Real Madrid really hit them hard as they saw further defeats further. This season he didn't get to maintain a stand in the title race due to injuries but he was able to finish up at the second position which I see as a very good finish for the season, he has been able to manage the team well enough through their financial crisis and I think he's been the best fit for them this period, xavi isn't a bad coach so I'd most definitely going to get a job after he leaves Barcelona, some of the fans did wish he stays back to help the team in the coming season and so they became emotional as they couldn't bear the fact thst he's leaving when they needed him the most.

Getting a new coach that will be able to cope with all that have to do with Barcelona is another challenge Barcelona will be facing for a while, altho they appear like they are gradually exiting that stage of the whole financial saga already, but it may affect their performance next season as they will need some time to get used toe the new coach and his tactics, it may take them up to half way the season or probably the end of the season.

Indeed, really sad farewell party. I really can't believe that this is the end of Xavi's journey as coach at Barcelona, after previously being strongly defended by them. The one who felt most sorry was Xavi because initially he had announced his resignation, Laporta held him back, in the end he canceled his resignation but suddenly Laporta fired him. Even though he wasn't that bad when he coached Barcelona. Just look at the first season (not yet full), Xavi entered in the middle of the season with Koeman's squad still teetering and managed to bring Barcelona from 9th in the standings to 2nd in the La Liga standings. The following season Xavi was in Europe, at the same time presenting two trophies for Barcelona since Messi's departure, and this season almost qualified for the top 8 of the UCL, finishing as runners up in LaLiga behind Madrid who were on fire.
