Football can never stop proving us wrong because I concluded the same thing about Atletico Madrid but it all turn against them. To be honest this unpredictable of football can be quite tough for gamblers sometimes because Atletico Madrid did very well in the champions league and there was a lot of hope on them to continue the same thing but they ended up losing to Real Soeciedad just like that after what they played with Barcelona.

Atletico Madrid is a team that is worthy of being at the top of every table and there is no doubt about this, but i don't understand how a team that is not consistent can do well, how they expect there to be teams that manage to stay at the top despite not being able to achieve good results continuously.

With Atletico Madrid performance like that when playing against the strongest teams in La Liga, of course Atletico Madrid deserves to be at the top of the standings, but once again Atletico Madrid is sometimes difficult to predict, as recently happened in the UCL and in the Copa del Rey, but I think Atletico Madrid is trying to focus on the UCL, that why they gave up the Copa del Rey trophy to Real Sociedad, it's just a shame that Atletico Madrid has reached the final even though they could have won it.

I don't agree with the excuse that Atletico Madrid are focusing on the Champions League, that's why they gave up the Copa del Rey trophy to Real Sociedad, forgetting that they last won the Copa del Rey trophy in 2012/2013, a long time ago, also close to 5 years they won a trophy to their name.

I will say, it was kinda stupid excuse to give because Atletico Madrid are not sure they will Arsenal, talk more of lifting the Champions League over the remaining clubs in the Champions League currently

They deserve to be at the top. There are other teams like Real Madrid who deserve to win trophies. To be at the top, those teams need to perform consistently, which is not possible for many teams. Barcelona have been performing fairly consistently since the beginning of this La Liga season and they are still at the top and have a strong chance of winning the trophy, but there was a stage when we thought Real Madrid or Villarreal or Atletico Madrid would be at the top.

While every team's performance has been impressive, some teams can maintain their performance and strategically advance in the tournament. Atletico Madrid did a great job beating Barcelona in the Champions League and have a chance if they can qualify against Arsenal in the semi-finals and reach the final.

In this season, Real Madrid did not play too well and consistently while Atletico Madrid performed even worse. So Barcelona are the best even they have not actually performed too excellently in La Liga this season. Because two main title competitors, Real and Atletico Madrid don't play well and consistently, Barcelona have taken advantage of it and gone straightly to lift La Liga title.

They are deserved to win La Liga title in this season as it is wrong to say a club with big point difference against a second club in a league don't deserve a title. It's too contrasting with Barcelona performances in UEFA Champions League where they even ended at quarter finals, that is a worse result than a past season when they ended at semi final. Barcelona must work harder, and think of adjusting their tactics, and dependence on Yamal if they want to win Champions League title next season.

Exactly this season Barcelona are the only ones to have made a huge impact on La Liga title. Besides them no other team made any progress for league title, whether it's a Real Madrid or Atlatico Madrid. Both of them are just awful, like the didn't even make sense. Right now Barcelona are the top of the heap and dominating the league title with 9 point difference like Real Madrid are 9 point behind them and there is only few matches has been remain to conclude the league title race winner. In the UEFA Champions League, Barcelona was unable to recognize into big stage but I hope for next they will made little more effort.....

This game should not be a hard one for Real madrid to win but till now it's still 0:0 they must have been affected with all the loses they were facing because there is no way that it won't affect them and playing with a very low spirit will only result to getting a poor performance and that is what have happened to real madrid and they need to do a review of that club because they are lacking a lot of things and they need to replace some players also because I don't see any all that they are given they just want the game to end they don't longer care about if they are able to win or not.

Real Madrid already leads 2-0, and it doesn't seem like they have much trouble beating alaves, As they been able to put pressure on alaves since the start of the first half. A win is crucial for real madrid, As it would reduce the gap between them and Barcelona. Although real madrid currently trails barcelona by six points in the standings, If they can maintain their lead and secure a win, They could narrow the gap to three points.

You're right. Atletico Madrid's loss to Real Sociedad, had nothing to do with them focusing on the UCL. They've not just been that perfect like most of us thinks. Too many inconsistent performances throughout the season... Losing games that they were the favorites.

This Copa del Rey was literally the easiest trophy for them, because they already sorted out the hard part, by eliminating Barcelona. Arsenal's performance in the UCL has been their best so far, so I doubt if this Atletico Madrid even stands a chance. And assuming they go on to defeat Arsenal_{(which I doubt)}, the final is definitely going to a living hell for them.

Everyone think Athletico Madrid will win the Copa Del Rey final since they defeated Barcelona in the competition and they don't have any big club to challenge them up. Real Sociedad is not doing well in the league but anyone that is playing final they will not play because that is there opportunity to qualify to win a title, Since from the first half the way I see real Sociedad start the game I get the believe that he will be very difficult for Athletico Madrid to defeat them and they end the game in a draw and real Sociedad succeeded in the penalty shootout.

Honestly I was very surprised as Real Sociedad defeated Atletico Madrid in the Copa Del Rey final, because with the kind of performance Atletico Madrid pulled out against Barcelona both first leg and second leg in the semi final, I never expected they would be this cheap to Real Sociedad in the final. I have counted the trophy in favour of Atletico Madrid just as others did but the reverse was the case. I'm very impressed by Real Sociedad performance they deserved to win because they played a very good game to earned them that trophy.

When Real Madrid had the opportunity to near the gap against Barcelona they misused those opportunities and where focusing on the UCL matches and now they have lost the UCL and are about to lose the La Liga. If they had given attention more to the La Liga they would have been topping the table ahead of Barcelona but even if they win all their matches now, there is no possibility of them overtaking Barcelona because it is impossible for Barcelona to lose about 3 matches before the end of the season, even if they lose to Celta Vigo, Real Madrid should not rejoice because the gap will be 6 points. Real Madrid are performing like a mature team today even though they are out of the Champions League and they are practically falling short of winning the La Liga title. I think Alaves are a very poor team compared to a high quality team like Real Madrid and their performance in today's round of 32 matches that perfectly. Real Madrid are currently winning their domestic league by playing one-sidedly and they needed this win against Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League. Actually today with an average team and Madrid's top two forwards were able to score, you are right that Alaves also need every point to avoid relegation and it seems that Madrid also need every point to close the gap with Barcelona.

Real Madrid got a win tonight, two goals to one with both goals coming from Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe. Real Madrid are already out in the league title race more likely and are not in any chance of winning any trophy this season but they will continue to strive for the remaining three points in the coming games thereby keeping their second position at least.

Not winning a trophy doesn't mean they will slack off in their coming games. This is Real Madrid although they are currently passing through some challenges and  also inconsistencies.

This current Real Madrid team is a team to manage and finish the season, they are not strong enough as a team to win any title for the team this season, they lack teamwork under this manager, they need a reputable manager to coordinate the team for title challenge and to decline all these players and to also strengthen the team defensively because their biggest problem is the defense.

However, the nine points has been cut down to six points gap before Barcelona play their match against Celta Vigo tomorrow, if Barcelona wins, then there is much work to do for Real Madrid, and I also don’t expect Barcelona to give up for the league chase especially as they have been eliminated in the Champions League.
