Hi, recently so many past-ICOs turned into a scam or a deadcoin.
Is there anything what we can do to punish them? More than 2 years ICOs are scamming us and still people are investing, is this really a world what we want to create?
we need to identify scam projects at the stage of the first publication, to attract attention here on the forum and in social networks. This is a complex analytical work and depends on each attentive and not indifferent person.

Pursue them by reporting them to the authorities, they can help ua somehow. But you know, the real problem was on our self as well. If we didnt support and promote scam ICO then no one will be scammed. But this should be end right now, stop promoting shitty and scammy projects and support real and quality projects.
it is true that some ICO scam projects can succeed in cheating because they are promoted massively through the Campaign .... I think it is unfair if only the ico scam team is blamed, but the person who spreads the promotion also needs to get punished. But the problem is sometimes the person doesn't know if it will end up being a scam, so it's also hard to blame (stating wrong)

We have to admit that there are a lot of scam projects and it has become a commodity for short-term profit. agree with your opinion that there is no support for a scam project but maybe there is a problem how do we know that the project is a scam? all of this can be overcome if there is cooperation from all elements, so that it will immediately provide information if there is indeed a clear project scam. so the scam project cannot grow anymore.

There is scam involved in literally every investment opportunity you see in this new world of ours where scam is everywhere ICO scam was a thing of 2018 and early 2019 till we thought IEO was the solution to the ICO scam troubles but only for IEO to destroy the whole crypto currency world and 80% of IEO now are scam too, especially those hosted by P2pb2b
During 2018 and 2019 many sites of ICOs project and thousand investor have lost much money in ICOs investment, but now the end of ICO or IEO after bitcoin and altcoin going down, when bitcoin going back to higher price become new moment to start earn with ICO and IEO project investment.

I do not think we can do anything with such dead projects. It seems like the only option is to make an application in US Securities and Exchange Commission in case Americans invested in such projects.

ICO are no more and its not the only victim of scammers, both IEO and STO are already been used by these scammers so everything in crypto space is not safe from these bad guys, we need to protect ourselves only through good research or just rather stick with old altcoins

More than 2 years there are scammers and you still pay attention to them. Personally, for 2 years I have never gotten into scammers because I study everything before sending funds to any address.

Let's learn to skip projects like this, they are everywhere that's why one needs to make due diligence before taking part in any ico

I'm afraid that this will not help. What you offer is the main forum policy which is aimed at instilling in all newcomers.
However, still a large number of people go headlong into scam projects. The most effective method of dealing with scam is information.
Ideally, it is necessary to teach children financial literacy at schools at an early age and talk about the opportunities that can be expected in the financial world.
Thus, to instill in children the primary protection against scammers in their psyche.

The beginning of the bounties was very good and then there comes scammer and they ruin the market, people still invest in projects after taking precaution but if it is a scam they can not do anything, so if there is any way to get back what we invest or punish the scammer we must stand to deal with such.

I do not think that we can do an legal action to them. But the only thing that we should do is to try to report them and warn those people that this developers must not be trusted because of scam that happened. Remember those developers who is behind this kind of project because they are the one that must be punished.

Legally we don't have an option to punish them. However, through our bitcoin talk forum, we should upgrade our strict policies and delete the scam project forever. We need to create a team of verification to publish project on bitcointalk because this forum is the main marketplace of project to promote themselves.

What say?

There are a lot of user who still active to catch the scam project and I'm very respect of it even I always try to make my own analyst to find scam project but because my limited knowledge I can do that. At least I will make my own analyst to avoid being scammed when I choose some projects, I'm not dare to tell that this project is scam it is just my consumption. You have to see the scam accusation thread to know that and I believe if the user here especially newbie who active in scam accusation board then I think there is no one who will be scammed anymore.

Of course not, but because the ICO contract is so lacking in commitment it leads to so many fraudulent projects. Actually when we invest, we don't make any commitment to the team. just the act of sending money to others and expecting them to use our money properly. ICOs are just a capital raising program and it does not guarantee us anything. so scammers make use of this loophole to cheat a lot of people. Be careful and read the project's roadmap carefully before sending money to anyone. In addition, to be safe, you should invest in big exchange's IEO, it makes more sense. Binance's WRX has now been x8 times the price of IEO.

You are not right, you can set regulators and authorities on some projects. It all depends on the jurisdiction in which the project is located and also from which users the project raised funds.
For example, if these were US citizens, the project would automatically fall under the legal system of the United States of America.

It is important to collect all possible information about where, how and why the fundraising of scam projects took place.

Actually during the time of ICO there was nothing that could be done other than being mindful of them. Nevertheless, although ICO are gone, most IEO are doing theirs as well, that is, most projects after IEO, the price keeps dumping and the team suddenly going mute over their developments and before hand the project will be nothing to write home about. In my own opinion, whether ICO or IEO, let's always carry out our personal research, ask questions and so on as that is the best we can do.

The fact that this entire industry in unregulated makes it quite difficult to track down this Scam projects and make them pay for all they have done. However, I think with the financial rules of certain countries where these projects claim to be registered or originating from, anyone with enough evidence can approach the necessary authorities and file for a court case against these projects with a view to holding them accountable. Also, if these projects are fronted by a real owner with an offline presence which is traceable, the entire process of tracking them down becomes easier. This is the most profound way of going after scams and scammers parading themselves as project developers.

It is absolutely true, there is only few things which we can do. Firstly we can share our experiences for warning other users to be careful about that. ICO is most popular about fraud and that is fact people don't still trust on ICO, but it doesn't mean there is not any good ICO project.

It was only exposed as fraud after the bull run, people are already losing money because they got hype investing in ICO and in existing altcoins, and if people experience the last bull run, they will also witness how the altcoins made their ATH, and actually I made some money during that time but I still have some kind of regret for not selling all my assets, I was wrong to hold it.

The ICO is dead, any project implementing the ICO at the current stage is Scam. So never waste your time looking for good ICOs in this market, go to major exchanges and participate in their IEO. Those are good and safe projects for us to participate and invest

ICO is no longer an investment trend, and it will only make you more at risk. Of course, now IEO is the most interesting option because many IEO projects succeed at big exchanges like Binance and always have a very high profit if tickets are involved. Also, the risk will be very low because the IEO projects here have never disappointed investors.
