That is why right now you do not see ICO as much as it used to be in late 2017 or early 2018, because right now they are using IEO as a base to do it.
they did it to increase the faith and to lessen the scam, doing a sale on the exchange could help us eliminate a shit project or a fake project by a little.
and also there is a way to lessen it, which is regulation. But the problem here is, cryptocurrency is not a regulated asset and even some people see it as an illegal asset.

although I agree with you and I also think that the endless scams are a part of the problem... there is also the fragility of most genuine projects, that have teams with 3 or 4 young developers that lack in business/life experience and are definitely not ready to guide the product into the market... there is also the lack of product or the imaginary vision of a product that is not possible to develop...
after the initial "get-rich-quick" rush, all these issues started to come to the surface and serious investors are now very cautious...

I think to build trust for investor is how core team of projects creating awareness before IEO, STO or ICO. Building brand awareness with join few of blockchain events, open door to investors come to their office and joining regional blockchain alliance. I think in current condition, many organization related to blockhain project make it clear if that project not a scam. This is can be one of strategic marketing for dev team to promote their product/services to get more investors coming. For example, in my country, there is Indonesia Blockchain Association (IBA), for me if projects become a member of this organization, i believe that project is legit. Because as association, IBA wouldn't receive projects without clear vision, mision and business plan or anonymous core team.

I think it's still the same reason.  Many of them have been cheated by the ICO by taking their investment money.  The other part stalled on projects that failed to develop so investors drowned with the number of coins they had.  This is a classic reason why they seem to disappear in ICO investment.

You said everything that keeps the investors away from the market, can you point to ten ICO that gave big promise and collected millions still running and can you prove that they did anything after collecting this much amount. Every scammers found this as a hot bed to make a lot of money in the name of promising projects that could change the world and the scammers made their own world by taking those millions and keeping it themselves.

It`s hard cause there are too many projects. An ordinary person has some money for investing, but with a couple hundred dollars you can`t invest in all of them. It`s hard to attract investors cause everyone here already has so many investments, where to find the money for more?
Many people invest in the long run, they don`t plan to dump right after the end of ICO, and to jump in another investment. Projects don`t become successful overnight as some people would like.

It's not really hard to attract investors, only ICO projects are having a hard time investing new investors because that side of crowdfunding has a bad a reputation now, we have a lot of new investors coming in the market and they prefer to invest in IEO platform manage by reputable exchange.
They always watch for new coins that are coming in but prefer to wait for it to land in the market before buying, their alibi is a much cheaper price.

Scammers have ruined what so ever good is left in ICO and today investors have no more interest in ico projects, even IEO that is trending big now in crypto space many of them are still finding it hard to reach their softcap, only projects from biggest exchanges caught the investors now and i don't blame them at all

In fact, most of the investors right now are I scared to get scammed again because as an investor and bounty hunter I also get some of some new project. It's hard to rebuild or to regain the trust of some investor especially if they get scammed by multiple times but some of them still do invest in some new project. Right now some of them start participating in IEO where the token will list in exchange and they only need to create an account then they can now participate in that new project.

Because it is very easy to make an ERC20 token now, many deceivers have made a lot of tokens to disrupt the market, and many users have lost confidence. If there are good projects, we certainly welcome to the Chinese community to promote, I believe there will be many investors interested.

I'm not surprised, investors are now smarter than before and aim for biggest exhanges in crypto space to rely on now since IEO is the only option left for them, how many IEO from binance failed this year? not a single one, few of them only lose little value compared to IEO projects from other mediocre exchanges, investors know what they are doing now

There are many investors, if you look at those losing money projects like Uber and Grab.   Billions of dollars each series of investment.  They are burning money but investors dun seem to mind. But for ICOs even those extremely well planned ICOs at most get tens of millions.  Most cant even achieve their soft and hard caps.  To add to the injury, even when they are finally listed, most are pump and dump till they are basically dead.

Because the investors already get a bad experience before investing in ICO. Many of them have been tricked by the project, and the team are run away with their money. The investors don't want to get the same experience, so they will think twice if they're going to invest in the project. But some investors still searching for the new projects and they will invest if the project has the potential to succeed in the future. They will not use big money for this time, but they will use some money because they are afraid of previous experience. But if the market can recover, I think the old investors will come back to the project, and they will invest in any projects. But of course, they will search for the details of each project.

Scam is the main reason why it is so hard to attract investors nowadays ,
You already said it nobody wants to be scammed and most of the investor are playing safe now.
To be honest since early in 2018 I lost too much investment in ICO and IEO I know it is my fault because I didn't try hard enough to figure out that they were a scam project.

it is not at all hard to attract investors but only if you have something worth investing into! people are not willing to put their money in some shitcoin that has nothing to offer so it has no future. everyone has already smartened up after two years of losing and getting dumped on by the experienced traders.

by the way what you saw in 2017 with ICO scams was not "attracting investors" they were instead attracting gamblers and the market was filled with them at that time so the volumes that went into them was huge.
