There is no simple answer to this since even good projects have failed in the past. You can make good decisions by making sure you do your research and invest in projects that are bringing something innovative to the market but there is no 100% guarantee that you will not lose money. Scam in itself is a broad term and people use it for many different things.
Yes, even some good project turn to scam after all so we can't never completely sure 100% that all people fall for scam project is because they're greedy. A lot of people although very careful and checking everything left and right but still got scam anyway.
indeed it is not unpredictable because behind a project that looks good and legitimate can turn out to be a scam. although always be careful but that is not enough to be able to avoid a scam project. maybe the opposite, sometimes it can happen like a project that doesn't look good but it works and there is not happen fraud. no one can predict if you are in the crypto world.

Indeed those three points you mentioned are correct. Greed will influence people to invest in a project without researching deeply about the project. Sometimes they are in a hurry to gain big returns that even the promises of the project are unrealistic they just ignore red flags and just invest right away. Add to it that scammers are getting better and more cunning in deceiving people.

Op is totally correct.. Most people don't even try to see through the project, they only look at the promising side of it and at the end get scammed. Before going into any project to invest, try to look into the project setup, background and team. Some have fake team or anonymous, always do your own research before investing. Many scammers device different ways, but it's up to investors to look before leaping. Be wise.

I think "no knowledge about the project" should be no1 because even if he is not greedy, they will keep scammed by people if he doesn't have knowledge. And I think everyone has their own greedy side, some people can control because of their knowledge and the remaining can't because don't have the knowledge. And of course i agree with another point

I think greed is still the main factor, because since the DeFi trend I have seen many people complaining about being scamed by that trend, even though if they are not greedy they might not be scamed because this DeFi trend has made many people think the DeFi project they are holding can rises easily like YFI which can reach 10x in a fairly fast time.

I think not only about greedy here, but they also don't have any knowledge about the project. They think all defi project can rise easily, they thinking like that because their knowledge is less. So I agree with OP, greedy and knowledge is the main factor people get scam. And about trust, I'm not really sure about this

Those who are scammed most of them are normally new to this crypto space. And most of the scam projects do some good promotions. So they attracted very easily and ended with those scam. And and there are many many scam projects are in this market. So it's hard to avoid them the only thing you can do is do some research before your investment only that can save you from the scams.

Not only newbies are scammed, even old crypto enthusiasts get scammed. Most times it's based on greed, whereby money doubling crypto schemes scam greedy investors. Or sometimes the project look so real but end up being scam. I once invested in a project which aimed to revamp the health sector, they looked so real and even listed on hotbit, not knowing the team members had evil plans. They cleared all buy orders until hotbit disabled their trading. This is the reason why i mentioned anyone can be scammed, not only newbies.

These are good info but I also add some more things due to which a lot of people got scam. trust too blindly on the project, never search for the project and just look at the website attraction where some good features copied from real projects attract investors. no real social media pages.

I've been trapped in a scam and I realize that if it's all because of my greed, I only think about profits without thinking about the risks that must be experienced, don't be too hopeful of project promises so that you don't experience things like me, keep doing research.

Too naive, I think. People don't get it that the project they have interested in will try everything it can to get people's money. That's included dishonest or disinformation on its own project. People need to remove their naive for not getting scam easily.

Not really, bro. I just read a thread in which people are discussing the prospects for investing in new tokens. Not in a scam, but in full working projects. They are like seagulls, swooping in and raising the price, the others see how the price rises and swoop in after grabbing overheated coins and tokens at inflated prices.

the main reason people get a scam is that they have no knowledge of crypto and don't know the goal of the project, they may be new investors! the second is greed and too much trust in team promises

This is real in crypto, we know that today many people who don't have the skills and abilities but just want to get their money are willing to deceive many people. This leaves a lot of people both defeated and gullible because scammers usually have big promises for their bullshit projects, so anything has to be done with smart work and hard work.

And that because a lot of people are falling from their trap because of greed. They thought they will gonna get those rewards or bonuses but the thing is, most scammers will not give you anything but will rekt you with everything you have. Phishing sites, high ROIs, overwhelming bonuses and more. If the offer is too-good-to-be-true, doubt its authenticity. Don't let yourself easily give in with those sweet words. Do your own research and remember to inform others if you found fraudulent activities.

Sometimes you have to give credit to a few scammers. They clearly know how their victims thinking and lay a trap that at least there will a few people got caught in their game. But that's only a little amount, most people fell for scam because of their own faults: greed.

This most times happen to newbies, particular those without exposure and it's good that you have kearnt from your mistakes.
Mosr of these scammers these days have advanced, but if you know what you are doing and you have knowledge about the project, then there is no way you can be deceived by anyone.
