I've heard his name numerous times on the forum, but sad to say I still don't really know who he is.  He's made some wild predictions about bitcoin, correct?  Did he make a specific prediction that was supposed to have come true by now?  Just curious.  I wish I had the patience to keep track of all the predictions these people make, not only in crypto but also in other markets like gold & silver.  These "big names" have no compunction about saying bitcoin or gold is going to the moon by a certain time and then somehow that prediction gets lost in the sands of time and nobody ends up caring about the accuracy of their predictions.

And they make these predictions to keep their names in the news, to keep them relevant and also probably to hype whatever asset they're making the prediction about.  It's a fucking disgusting practice but a very common one in crypto and in the metals markets.

McAfee and Justin Sun are two showers and Fomo people. they are really right because they have money and power, but their predictions are never completely accurate.

Do you really believe in his prediction? I also see some thread that tackles his prediction and I guess it's about the price of bitcoin that will reach the price 250,00$ at the end of the year. Actually, I do not know who he is and talking about the price of bitcoin we might not see any skyrocket this year but do not panic because in the next few we might experience it again we just need to wait and hold. I am sure this has something to do with him as a good marketer or a communication genius but he should notice that the cryptocurrency marketplace is not made up of innocent and ignorant people -- we are intelligent and capable of using our brains.

John McAffee's name and brand is not getting synonymous with hypes and FUDs. Although I would be really happy if soon one of his predictions can be coming true, we all know the market realities that those are really impossible. I would love to be wrong though but I am sure that I have more than 80% chances of being right. So you're saying you believe Bitcoin's market cap will be over 18 trillion dollars, and the Winklevoss brothers will be worth 130 billion dollars by the end of 2020? if your answer is positive you are retired because that's not how markets work, you don't expect the value to keep going up just because it went up previously as McAfee thought. MacAfee is the man who made a very popular antivirus software and firewall in the 1990s. He left the company that bears his name in the mid 1990's and then moved to Belize where he appeared to go batshit (posting videos of himself snorting coke onto youtube and so on).

I think he managed to lose a fortune of about $100 million on living a wild life and then started shilling for dubious alt coins, and of course making wild predictions about bitcoin.

Basically everyone should ignore him - whatever brains he had have been well and truly fried by now.

Someone once predicted that the price of Bitcoin will reach $100k before December of this year, 2019. A lot of people even believed that to be true. Now here we are, it's almost December and we are still at the rate of $9000+. The price is even struggling to stay above $9000 and might soon drop back to $8000.

If you don't want to make mistakes that you will end up regretting later, I will advise you to stop believing what these people have to say and focus on your own. If you want to invest, wait for the perfect time when the price is low (that's during bear trend) and you can invest and hold for the long term. Lol, I also got into bitcoin as a free money in whole. Yes, I was misguided about bitcoin mining as a free money. I didn't know about bitcoin in 2010, I only got to know of it in late 2013 and I didn't get in immediately, till around 2014. When I started making use of it, it wasn't for buying anything, I only used it to accept payment and as time goes on I started to develop an interest and began to save some part of my money in it. I did benefit from the 2017 bull run but what I got wasn't much. If I had Bitcoin in 2010 I don't think I would use it in buying anything, I will also be saving it just like I did when I started, although I didn't have much.

This time around I has also been doing the same thing, though I'm not expecting the bull run to come anytime soon. I have seen people (some economists) that claimed there will no longer be bull run. There were a lot of such predictors, and all as one spoke of continued growth. Already then it became clear that not one predictor knows anything for sure.

I don't know if he bought cheap altcoin before and later announced his pump, or simply someone paid him for it, but it certainly wasn't everything he did completely normal. I don't know who he is but I always see some of the topics that related to him. Upon searching for that person it seems many people are now quit on believing in him especially after he predicts that bitcoin will reach 1 Million USD and then it not happens. In the speculation section, there are tons of predictions on the bitcoin and somehow I believe in some prediction but when it comes to his prediction maybe it might happen in the future because it takes a lot of time and support if we want to see that kind of price.
