I am not sure about that. While the strategy of "why spend x amount of dollars if you can spend less?" is economical in the short term in order to save on costs for attracting new clients it is not a good marketing strategy in the long term. Some veteran members of the Roobet community will notice (as they obviously did in this thread) and they might take this as offensive.

Maintaining a loyal community is more important than advertising merely in order to raise the number of community members.

There is no argument if they decrease (or even increase) the prizes or number of winners. It's their call according to their budget and analysis, how much money to invest in the art contest.

If someone thinks that the prizes are low, they are free not to participate but we cannot blame the Roobet for this. I think people should be thankful to them to bring out these art contests every now and then and it gives the art lovers to show their skills and at the same time earn some money.

And what I like about this contest is that it is related to one's skill in art, indeed everyone can make art, but not everyone has above average skills. That is productive in my opinion, because they require participants to be as creative as possible in applying the art they think of into a work.
