I appreciate your efforts in providing us a good mining software like XMR-STAK-RX for free. I'm currently mining Loki (Randomx) and it is working really good, I'm getting far better results with XMR-STAK-RX as compare to other mining software.
Keep up the good work.

Haha, how can you get better results if this miner's RandomX code is a direct rip off from XMRig? It can at best give the same hashrate.

yes, people already tested and shared various screenshots like here and here for example showing that there is zero displayed hash difference and difference for miner rewards will be 5% more for xmr-stak-rx if he uses xmrig with default fee, or 1% if he uses Xmrig with min fee.

I have tried XMR-STAK-RX for 1 more weeks

I use R7 1700 can get 4000H/S at 3.8G
But when I use "-t 16" hashrate will drop to 1200H/S
By the way I have R7 2700 and 2700X,same problem.
I found other guys that use 3600 with all threads ("-t 12) can get 6000H/s
Why use all threads hashrate drops a lot forR7 1700/2700? But not affect R5 3600/3700X.

I have tried SRBMiner and XMR-STAK,same problem.

Because it has 16 Mb L3 cache, 3600 and 3700 have 32 Mb.
If you run more than 8 threads, you'll get out of L2/L3 cache (2 Mb per thread), that's why it outputs less hashrate.

A little help here.

I have a Ryzen 7 1700 machine and I can't get it to mine Random X. It says virtualmem aloc failed or something like that, connects to pool, it submits 1 share or so and it exits. Same behaviour witb XMrig.

It has 16 Gb of Ram, virtual mem is 32-64000 Mb, I enabled large pages (it was running fine with cryptonight r, memory was "pinned").

What I'm I missing here?

[UPDATE] XMR-STAK-RX - Free Monero RandomX Miner 1.0.4
Release Notes
This release implements better NUMA and config support, as well as MSR setting capabiltiy.

Changelog:
Implement Windows WRMSR #2635 / #2637 / #2638 / #2644 / #2645

Download link on Github version 1.0.4

Quote
Q: Are you just stealing from xmrig?
A: It is a popular Monero propaganda line. Xmr-stak has been around for much longer than xmrig. They copied xmr-stak code [ 1 ]. We didn't complain - that's the point of free and open source software. Xmrig developer actively pushed free xmr-stak versions - and when we made xmr-stak-rx free, he decided it has a virus =D [ 2 ]. If you feel that this kind of guy deserves your financial support, we are nice enough to put the link on the front page.

Q: Why is my "friend" saying that I shouldn't be using free Xmr-Stak-RX or faster RagerX, but instead - go through extra steps to get free xmrig?
A: This is cryptocurreny world. Everyone is looking out for themselves. What your "friend" is trying to do is advance his social position by giving you bad financial advice. Think with your wallet, don't put yourself at a financial disadvantage to please a guy you have never seen.

Q:
Why guys that say that want decentralisation want everyone to use one miner?
A: Because just like privacy it is just an empty marketing slogan, with no relation to what community leaders actually want.

I've tried mining Loki with RagerX, hashrate is far better than any other mining platform almost 10% extra.

But seriously;  Thanks.  The community needs more ofthis.   This type of thing has been gone since ~2015-2016.

On a very light note, compare it with Xmrig they have 1% dev fee and xmr-stak-rx is fully free, and performance is the same on both.

You can compare it with Xmrig which has 1% dev fee and when it comes to performance xmr-stak-rx is bit better than that in speed and efficiency and the best thing it is fully free there is no 1% dev fee and you don't have to mess with command lines if you mine with xmr-stak-rx.

I'm still mining Monero on my computers, with xmr-stak-rx. It is free and doesn't have any dev fee as other miners. If miners doesn't want to mess with command lines then xmr-stak-rx is the best choice.

technically yes - it supports gpu mining. But this (randomx) algo is worthless on GPUs. Check Cryptonight-GPU algo that was designed for it - it is better and more fair.

Are there any manual settings required for this miner?
not much, when you start the miner, it will ask few questions (pool, coin and wallet address) and generates all configs after the first start. If you wish - you can tweak some parameters in them, anyway

Might be difficult to confirm as one could implement a dev fee using the same pool as yours and hide it.
Honestly, the best way is to compare two rigs revenue over a few days.

Does anybody know how to mine solo against Monero wallet , on the command line using XMR-STAK-RX or XMRig please?
Monero.conf <- not sure what to put in this file.

I would like to mine outside of the wallet because the wallet is not as fast as XMRig or XMR-STAK-RX as im sure many know.

Only XMRig can do this. And you mine solo against Monero node, not wallet. You just need to set
Code:
"daemon":true,
and
Code:
"url":"your_node_ip:18081",
in config.json

HI and thank you for your reply,
I have run my wallet and it is completely synched now, it only took 5 days to do, really crazy.
Anyways so i know for example, when I used to mine Bitsend or Chainlink you would run the wallet and synch the blockchain fully, and then you would find inside %appdata% normally the folder pertaning to the coin and then a chainlink.conf or bitsend.conf... u would have the general settings in there like:

rpcuser=chainuser
rpcpassword=chainpass
rpcallowip=192.168.1.2
bind=127.0.0.1
rpcport=19711
rpcconect=192.168.1.2

server=1
listen=1
daemon=1

Anyways now i am stuck with what you gave told me -: I have also done a file search for "config.json" but i do not see this file in relation to Monero or Bitmonero.

I can see:
========
C:\ProgramData\bitmonero\lmdb>dir

 Directory of C:\ProgramData\bitmonero\lmdb

Is it 100% free, I mean there must be some hidden fees? XMrig has 1% but it is actually 2%. So wanna confirm if it is not the same as these fees.
there are no fees (besides pool that will take 1% or so - but it is not Xmr-Stak-RX jurisdiction). The code of the miner is open-sourced on github, and everyone is free to check it.

Anyways now i am stuck with what you gave told me -: I have also done a file search for "config.json" but i do not see this file in relation to Monero or Bitmonero.
This is XMRig's config file, you can find it in XMRig folder or generate using xmrig.com/wizard

Thank you for your help , it was straight forward after your config generation explanation, so i managed to mine now using XMrig.
i have received some odd messages about firewall and not receiving data ....on the monerod window... but i guess its because of a flakey network.
I just restarted the daemon and the miner windows and they working fine

I will see if i can figure out how to show more verbose information maybe on the daemon side.

Do such miners really work? I don't have confidence in this kind of thing, because I've tried several of them and either it just didn't work, or it turned out to be a scam. I want to find a good bitcoin miner to make it work, but it's very difficult to trust the people who publish them. A lot of people want to make money by cheating. Six months ago, my friend managed to find a good and free bitcoin mining due to which he managed to earn a lot of bitcoins, but his hard drive broke and he lost data from that miner. But it's worth noting that if the miner is working, it really brings a lot of bitcoins

IDK whats up with that URL you inserted, but im not going to click it.

This miner app is clean and real.

The source is open and available to compile yourself if you do not trust it.

Your choice.

XMR-STAK-RX 1.0.5 - Free Monero RandomX Miner

This release adds mining support of 2 new currencies. Their aliases are keva and safex respectively. If you are planning to mine a coin that has same algo: use randomx_keva and randomx_safex in pools.txt or in "currency to mine" setup parameter. Xmr-Stak-RX 1.0.5 is also now up to date with newest xmrig.

Since GPUs have no sense in RandomX mining compared to CPUs - we disabled it in Xmr-Stak-RX build. If you wish to mine GPU coins (Like Ryo with Cryptonight-GPU): use Xmr-Stak build.
