We have implemented the DigiShield difficulty re-targeting algorithm. This will smooth out the difficulty swings, to maintain a block rate of 8 minutes. We updated the protocol version also, so you will need the new wallet to connect to the network after the hard fork is released.

The changes we made begin on block 290. We are almost there. Hash rates are still migrating over to the new fork. Once everyone migrates over we will get past these last 10 blocks and on to the new difficulty targeting algorithm we implemented. Then at block 300 we will start seeing the block bounties which will help compensate miners who stuck with us the first few days.

New wallet is fubar. Says it's out of sync and 1 hour behind, yet it's also at block 279 which is the current block. Deleting and downlaoding the blockchain again did not solve it.

This is because no blocks have been produced for an hour, we have 10 more blocks to go on the old targeting algorithm then it will be smooth sailing. When a new block is found it will sync.
