it wouldnt be unusual for a first-timer to win - just donk your way to the final table!

Sounds good , a 20 $ buy-in should be easy . a 5000 chips starting stack with a 10-20 blind increasing every 10 minutes is fine . Though I'd suggest every 7 minutes or so .
How should we do about the buy-in , have someone hold it under escrow ? or we can create our own terms on Sportbet's poker room ?

It would all be set up on sportsbets poker room so I guess you would just need to have your account loaded in order to join - will update as soon as I can fully confirm this.

Thanks for organizing this, hopefully we will manage to have our first bitcointalk poker tournament. I am interested but a little sceptical about  my free time. All you mentioned in the OP sounds reasonable and I will gladly join if I find time. Sunday is probably the best bet for me but no guarantees.

Cool beans. Maybe do a small poll with 2 or 3 preferred time slots. I'm all for Sunday action. Maybe some time in the afternoon Europe to allow for US and Asian players. How long would it last?

For reference:
London = GMT
Central Asia = 5GMT
Beijing = 8GMT
US East Coast/EST = -5GMT

So a suitable time should be say 2pm GMT, then it's morning US, not too late night Asian, but maybe also ask each interested person to give a time? The poll should show most popular.

Buy in: make it 1-2 mBTC (about 8 to 16 dollars now) since Sportsbet is Bitcoin friendly. Keeps it easy to remember also as an entry fee.

count me in, I will try to organize myself on the time/date the majority will pick up, cause I'm busy as usual almost every day, maybe Sunday could be a nice day to play a holdem Poker, but you never know how Saturday night can be extended

Sound interesting for me and buy in at $10 shouls be good options because it's not too high but about time zone to started i think sometimes i having trouble with it because asian, europe and america continent have very different time zone but as this is the tournament and how about the prize pool did you already determine this

Although it's not hard, I bet a lot of players play without knowing the whole rules. You can try it for free in TeenPatti Gold (Can find in Google Playstore). There are other apps too but TeenPatti Gold is a good one I have tested till now.

You don't have to learn the game like nerds mate .

I have no idea too about these poker stuff , I just come and play blindly at first .
Now here I am still playing like a first-timer . But I do take everything in fun way at the end , not a big deal.

This seems like it could be fun though the biggest hindrance could be the time zone variance for people located around different countries(Even on a weekend). If you guys pull this part off perfectly, this could turn out to be a grand success.

I am a newbie level poker player myself and I feel like the $10 entry point is a decent starting point. Will try to join this one if the timings are alright. Good one op!

Its not that tough Royse. Just watch a couple of youtube videos. I learnt poker by playing Red Dead Redemption 2 myself.

Although it's not hard, I bet a lot of players play without knowing the whole rules. You can try it for free in TeenPatti Gold (Can find in Google Playstore). There are other apps too but TeenPatti Gold is a good one I have tested till now.

Without knowing the rules will put these players to losing possibilities. Some good tries can be better as you're going to familiarize the game to avoid losing your bets in the long run. Good thing it's now available and downloadable at playstore, it's a fun thing as we're having comfort playing with poker using mobile phone.

Well, this is a great idea for having transparency in every buy-in transactions. I love to join too and I make an account now on sportsbet just for in case if this will work. $10 is affordable in my part, IMO.
