Well, I have to say I'm surprised by the response. It's so hard these days to get the forum together to get into pools or other tourneys, and yet poker seems to have a big draw, even for those who don't know how to play! Should really look into the psychology of gamblers here. Is it the title that says exclusive?

Anyway, can't wait for the deets and timing. If it's pushed back too early though I may actually miss it, but I'll do as SyGambler promised, I'll throw in my buy-in regardless.

I am also very positively surprised and of course very happy about it!

So far it looks like around 2 PM GMT is doable for most of us - again, I will provide technical details hopefully on Monday. Smiley

Difficult to say how long the tournament will last but with around 20 users (if really so many appear), still it wouldnt last too long I guess - also depends on how berserk we go! Cheesy

+1 on both counts. 6am local time is gonna be a challenge, but i think i'll make it. Grin

given the structure in the OP, i would guess ~1-2 hours depending on how many people show up.

Let's expect that it would take longer, because 20 users take more time to play. We're not sure yet that it would not take too long since that it was dependent on the mode of their set play. Hopefully there's an accurate time frame in order to estimate the possible frequency of the game.

did the pool already fix on 25/01? with a minimum of 20 users?
but if you can make the buy-in last for 1 day before the actual day so everyone can join it

The schedule is not yet determined whether it is Sunday or Monday, but it looks like it will tend to be Monday based on user opinions here.
And also a minimum of 20 people I think that's too high since that currently interested in joining the tournament there are only 20 people.

Guys, please... why those spammy replies now... Dont mean to offend anyone but everything is nice and clear isnt it? If not, please shoot! We are trying hard to organize an awesome game and such posts dont help really.

Difficult to say how long the tournament will last but with around 20 users (if really so many appear), still it wouldnt last too long I guess - also depends on how berserk we go! Cheesy

Yeah, most likely we will play 25/01 at around 2 PM GMT - who said we would only play if we reach 20 players? I didnt... Regarding the buy-in, really dont know what you mean?

Quite some things to manage @efialtis, heh ? Grin

I would put my name on the participants list as well.

Did I forget anything? More ideas? Please shoot!

Afaik there is only full ring available at Sportsbet, no ? If not, I would vote for 6-handed, but thats just a detail. Full ring always gets me bored too much Cheesy

Nowadays I don't play poker that often - usually only when I am utterly bored - and I never was an ambitious player anyway. Will never forget my first and only Royal Flush though. Good old days at PartyPoker Wink

Well, you know how it is mate, always keep busy! Wink

Awesome, I was actually waiting for you to join! I would have forced you anyway...

Yeah, good point - will check with the sportsbet poker guys!

Oh my, Party Poker - I used to be an affiliate for them when the big poker boom arrived in GER and everybody has been playing there - I loved it and watching that image you posted, hard not to get nostalgic lol. Cheesy Funny side note: A friend told me just yesterday that Party has signed some online poker pros and wants to get back to old glories Cheesy

I wrote previously that I'll ask my friend who likes playing poker. He's also a forum member, of course. At first, he said no, but we talked and now he'd like to join you guys on Sunday. So how does joining the group work? Does he need to write something in the thread to have the name added to the original post or something or will there be a link to join the game? And with only a week left perhaps it's time to decide on the buy-in and other technicalities mentioned in that first post for discussion?

Hey, thats cool - Glad he will play with us! Smiley The list in the op is more of an orientation. I think the tournament will be password protected but I will know more on Monday. In that case, I would just pm everyone who said he wanted to play and give the password.

Regarding buy-in, I think most of us are cool with 1 mBTC, no?

All right. So I created an account on Sportsbet.io, the other day, and loaded it with 2.5 mBTC especially with the intention of playing in this amazing tournament. Thank you, Sportsbet.io for providing this unique opportunity to play poker with our fellow forum members!

2 PM GMT is perfect for me, and I agree with @figmentofmyass here that buy-in shouldn't be lower than 1 mBTC, in order to keep it interesting.

In short, count me in, guys.

Good luck to all the participants!

"Official" update will be coming tomorrow - I can already tell though that it will work like this:

You guys will be able to register directly via sportsbet´s poker lobby but you will need a password - you will get the password if I like you... just kidding of course. :p

When registering for the tournament, the buy-in + fee (1.1 mBTC) will automatically be deducted from your account and you will be ready to go.

I havent played poker for a long time and really can´t wait!
