That article is only mentioning one reason while there are so many reasons to dislike ripple.

It's centralized, it's not utility, it has a lot of pre-mined coins, it's also a quick-rich scheme for Jed, No transparency, not even a valuable product that generate profit and when this company has already said if they generated multi-million dollars revenue from its tech and it can't even create a transparent report to the people who have bought this coin. I have ever experienced in owned ripple coin in the past and i got nothing and just hope to get a capital investment return from the development progress.

It's very hard for XRP to even reach a dollar! Just on 1st Feb, they have released 500 million XRP from their escrow wallet and another 500 million is waiting to be released soon as per the initial plan of unlocking 1 billion coins to the market. Imo XRP had its chance to climb above $5 back in the 2017-2018 best time for market, but now it has absolutely no chance.
Even if whales from all other alts will invest in XRP it won't change much.
Moreover it has almost no use cases and it has low "adoptability" so its an ordinary cryptocurrency really.

Quite that really optimistic and I'd never think that it goes like that even Bullrun will come. We already have a huge struggle to even just reach at $1 how much more for $14? In a certain thing that XRP won't fly that high, it is because of being a centralized one and also investors never look that much profitability over the other.

I believe XRP will have a chance to reach another highest price besides the last bull run, but unfortunately, we don't know how higher XRP can increase. We can only predict the price, and we don't know the truth about that. Perhaps, XRP can hit more than 22k satoshi, and who knows, the price can run more than 30k satoshi. But once again, we still need to have the patience to wait for the time to see XRP price increases.

I am one of the investors of XRP, and I already buy more XRP since the last year when the price is down, and now, I am waiting for the next bull run for XRP. I hope that this year, XRP price can increase more than the last highest price, so I will come back to make the biggest profit from XRP. But I also invest my money in Ethereum from the previous lowest price, and I am glad that now, the Ethereum price increases higher than the price I bought. But I still waiting for another highest price of Ethereum so I can make the biggest profit again.

I'll have to contradict you about point no. 2. XRP has a huge lot of demand from banks all around the world, so you can't really call it useless or demand-less. It definitely had some success hence the reason it's in the top 3 cryptocurrencies.

I certainly am against its centralized nature and against the way its supply is distributed manually. Although the funds are locked, as we've seen very recently, a lot of XRP can be injected into the market. This works exactly like fiat, so banks are happy to work with a coin that tries to immitate fiat's inflation.

Their interest is to work with a coin that is more stable than Bitcoin, so from their point of view that is understandable as much as I hate the banking system.

Considering XRP's workaround with banks all around the world, its demand could trigger a price explosion.. that is unless they're going to continue injecting so many coins in the market. The max supply of XRP is 100B, so a $14 XRP with max supply of 100B equals a $14T market cap for it. IMO it's possible under the existing circumstances. $14T for global usage isn't a lot.

I don't dislike XRP, I even once invested in that coin. It's just for those who touch 14$ I think it's very difficult and what is the total marketcap if that happens. The initial target was only 5$ when the bullrun occurred in 2017 and that was not achieved at all.

It's possible if the planned partnership with money transfer moneygram push through, and they can keep up with the development of XRP, in general as long as the project keeps on developing, investors and traders will trust them pushing the price to an all time high so it's really possible.

Why do you think all major altcoins recovered the fall of 2018 but XRP never recovered? This is because investors lost faith in XRP. XRP is highly centralized and its supply can be increased any time on the discretion of Ripple Foundation. I'm not against with XRP and its functions but the speculation of 14 dollars per coin is impossible to attain, with its billions of total coin supply that would be a huge problem when it comes to price stability, even the last 2017 bullish market condition XRP coin did not even reach the half of that price so for me its too good to be true.

Just dump your XRP for now. It is making some big mistakes that is affecting its market. Though I'm an investor of XRP, I know its limit and reaching that high number is just a pipe dream because this coin goes against the original purpose of Bitcoin and most cryptocurrency which is decentralization. First of all, I'm not disappointed with current crypto markets. At first glance, it may seem that the price of XRP will not rise too much. Lets be realistic here, the possibility of bitcoin going over 100k is more likely scenario right now that XRP ever reaching 14 dollars, there is no way it is going that high now or even ever in the history (maybe in 50 years, who knows?).

The reality is that XRP will probably reach 1 dollars, or even maybe 2-3 dollars in the future for a while, but that is literally the peak level XRP will ever face, after which point there is not enough money in the market to keep pushing it higher and higher when all other coins are requiring money as well, Ripple may do it themselves if they want to, they are welcomed to it, but it won't be sustainable at all.

I think it's dreamful thought for XRP 14 USD there are 43.698.224.662 XRP (according to CMC) on circulating so even 1-2 usd would be great for XRP. Also i'm interesed with HOX Token lately. Which going to list some big exchanges and they didn't asked for investment or pre sale. My new safe heaven is HOX Token now.

I personally have no hard feeling for XRP but instead I love being with XRP. XRP is launching some major features which would make payments much easier and also it might be a huge step for cryptos to enter the mainstream monetary systems. Price for XRP is below $0.25 atleast for now so it does not place this huge number in front of my eyes but what I can expect XRP to reach maximum would be $1 as soon as possible.

I don't hate xrp in fact, I am using it for arbitration because it is fast and has a low fee but I don't think so, Circulating supply > 43,698,224,662 XRP X $14 = $611,775,145,268 is pretty big numbers if they can really reach $14. In the next bullrun I guess Bitcoin dominance will increase more and not for XRP. Just my opinion but who knows if bitcoin reaches a great All Time High, looks like it will bring along some altcoins too, we will see about that.

Well, looks like I was misinformed about the Ripple technology part. I always thought XRP was being used by banks, NOT just the tech. Ripple having their coin named "Ripple" makes me always confuse the two. I guess the name was not randomly chosen anyway

Besides all the centralization, the 20XRP minimum funds needed to keep an account active is a joke. That's $50 wasted away at the current price if you want to hold 10 different addresses. It was $50 per address when the price was at all time highs.

And yet, whenever I heard about XRP from someone in real life, I always heard the idea that XRP would be the one used by banks, not the tech. This confusion probably drives prices and investors in the wrong places and makes them believe XRP is the future.

Anyways.. as soon as the coins aren't 100% mine and someone has control over them, it's a no for me from the start. I did not come into the crypto world to chain myself to another fiat-style "cryptocurrency".

XRP to $14 is a madness... I mean, now under $0.264 it has a 4410.15% ROI. So, this mean people alread have a huge win with it. But the main issue about the $14/coin is the market capitalization. If the total of XRP is 100,000,000,000, then think how big has to be the market cap to see that price happens.

Why do you think all major altcoins recovered the fall of 2018 but XRP never recovered? This is because investors lost faith in XRP. I'm opposed to XRP mainly for its extreme centralization as mentioned in the OP, but I don't doubt that it could potentially reach a price of as high as $14 in the next major crypto bull run that happens (if it ever happens). I don't even have hope for such high prices because the hype is not good, the value of xrp in the past has been so much hype, even pumping to such an extent that unbelievable, and the consequence of this process is that many people are stuck at a fairly high level of investment in xrp, I don't know for what time and year they will probably recover the capital they have invested. XRP may be a good coin in terms of value storage and aims to have a light and long-term growth potential but it is not a coin with enormous development potential and will be highly priced by pumps.

I hate how xrp management works cause they completely set their platform to be centralized but it doesnt make it a bad platform at all. One thing about XRP is that it grows in any chance of uptrend in the market, this can't be argued but in reality believing that it will hit that price can be argued. The next bull run is not enough to push XRP price to 14$ as the demands will be divided to all the potential coins/altcoins. Meaning there is a chance that XRP will reach a new ATH but to his current price the maximum ATH that I think as of right now is x30 of it.

I dont think so, i guest ripple can hit 1$ if bitcoin price is more than 18 K $, we can see the chart when ripple have big news on bullrun in 2017 its only hit 3 $ max.

So, maybe this year we might extend the peak from $3 by 1 or 2 dollars. Expecting huge price would never be a good solution for us because we would constantly wait for XRP to at least reach 50% of our expected price and by that time XRP can reach the ATH and might reflect back which might miss our chance to sell coins. This is what makes a lot of people not have profits from the volatility nature.

XRP does not move that great on daily graph which might also not show us price above $7 in the peak of the bull runs. Bitcoins need to cross $20,000 in order for us to see XRP above $3 again. $0.23 was entry point for me which is already passed on so currently I am just holding.

Well it's true most people dislike XRP because it is centralized but looking past that issue in question, one will see a coin trying it's best to remain relevant. The team keeps looking for more ways to break every boundary through partnerships etc and it's pretty working. However that doesn't mean it is better than ETH or other altcoins in top 5 position. Nevertheless, saying that XRP will reach such high price during the next bull run do not really add up; I do not believe so. 14$ is too high, rather 1-2$ might be achievable.

I might not be among those investors who hate XRP. XRP is a good coin and also has some potential to invest into. The price for XRP has not been that high if we consider graphs from previous years so maybe this year we can see all time high peak for xrp in the coming bull runs. But yet, expecting such huge price as quoted by you might perhaps be impossible for XRP.

At the moment what I'm most worried about is that the market will soon have a big correction in the next few weeks and this will affect many other investors. It is not that easy, it is true the whales could manipulate the price of XRP just as easy as they can do with any coin but at least there should be some real demand for that coin and even if XRP is a the third coin in terms of market cap most of the business that accept cryptocurrencies only accept bitcoin and ethereum so there are limits to what they can do with a coin like XRP which is one of the reasons why XRP has not presented significant movements in its price for a long time.

I am not one of those that hated Ripple (XRP) because actually I am already investing into it since year 2019 which is just last year. Well about the price prediction, if you will look upon the last price chart that shows the price movement of Ripple, it is far beyond the expected price because it does not evenly reached even $1 and with that obvious manner of observation, I think although it can be possible to happen, yet it is still far beyond to happen as of the moment because Ripple still do need to establish stability to be able to increase its price to attract potential investors and buyer. It is possible for Ripple to increase its price but the price expectation is too far beyond what Ripple (XRP) is showing right now. Maybe not now but maybe soon XRP could reach up that price.

I believe that it's impossible for XRP to reach $14 in the next bull run, because of many obvious reasons. One of them is that the supply of XRP is enourmous relative to other cryptocurrencies on the market. And the other is that the Ripple company controls a large portion of the token's supply. With a massive inflation rate and a centralized structure, it looks very unlikely that it'll be heading to more than $5 in the future. It did get past $1 once (during the 2017 bull market), but that's that. The fact that XRP lacks real uses cases for the mainstream world, tells us that its price should slale or head all the way down the drain over time. It's been more of hype (bank partnerships) than anything else.

People will always value decentralization because it gives them the confidence that their money will always be there no matter what. That's not case with XRP as Ripple can decide to freeze your account at will (search Google and you'll see that Ripple had frozen accounts in the past). Bitcoin was created by Satoshi with decentralization/censorship-resistance in mind. It was intended to eliminate the middleman from the financial system. Ripple's XRP token goes against what has been established in the first place. It's like banking reinvented. Because of this, it's hard to believe that XRP will go to new ATHs in price anytime soon. I have store money to buy cryptocurrency since 2020 came, holding it for several months but I I'm still not profitable. At least I have a target price where I can sell my XRP coin. I have previously made numerous posts on this subject. The major vulnerability with XRP is that it is one of the most centralized cryptocurrencies currently in circulation. Somewhere between 80% and 90% of all the XRP in existence is owned by a handful of promoters. And that is the risk factor while investing in XRP. Exactly. XRP is too centralized, greatly defeating the purpose of crypto and Blockchain technology. It's more of a centralized database than a real Blockchain. The "cryptocurrency" is overhyped in part because of the bank partnerships with the Ripple company. At the end of the day, XRP is just another banking system where assets can be frozen and accounts deleted at will. Most recently, the XRP dev team has introduced the ability for users to delete their XRP accounts. This shows us how centralized the XRP ledger is, relative to other cryptocurrencies on the market. No one serious about crypto and Blockchain technology will invest into XRP because of this reason. Crypto is all about decentralization, and if you take that away, you get nothing more but a centralized database with a single point of failure.

With Ripple controlling most of the XRP token's supply, it's hard to believe it'll get past $1 anytime soon. There is a hard cap of billions of XRP that will ever be created, which greatly debases the token itself. There are far better coins out there (like Stellar) which put decentralization first above anything else. I believe that every bull market has a positive effect over altcoins' prices, even if they're unable to provide real use cases to the mainstream world. AFAIK, XRP is only a speculative "cryptocurrency" which is yet to prove its usability for mainstream payments. All I've seen is hype everywhere related to the bank partnerships Ripple has made over the years. But what matters is adoption above anything else.

Likewise. XRP is over-inflated and largely controlled by the Ripple company. It's hard to believe it'll go to "double digits" anytime soon. Even with the bank partnerships Ripple has made over time, the XRP "cryptocurrency" still hasn't found its unique purpose in life. There are practically no real use cases for XRP, probably because of its centralized design. I doubt that people in the mainstream world would want to use a system that greatly resembles traditional banks of today. But who knows? In the uncertain world of crypto, "strange and bizarre" things could happen in the future. Since altcoins follow Bitcoin's footsteps, there's a possibility that XRP will "ride" through the bull market.

I wouldn't recommend "hodling" XRP in the long term, simply because it has over a billion tokens in circulation. It's often good for short-term gains than anything else. I think so, in l last bullrun price overcome 2.5 USD why won't hit 5 USD in the next bullrun. My prediction says this is 100 percent possible. Ripple isn't new coin or out of the top 10 coins. Today we buy XRP at 20 cents. Just think about that. For BTC to do ATH it needs to X2. Let us say if BTC can x2 XRP can do maybe x3,,, then we have XRP at 60 cents. For XRP to get to $2 it needs to x10, and $5 is x25.

No one will tell you the exact answer, because no one knows. Everything is possible in the cryptoworld, favorites fall (I mean the price) and unknown projects become favorites. I can't say I don't like XRP, I have a few of these coins and I keep them in my portfolio.

This is a huge target for xrp. I don't think it will ever be possible. Many articles are published to create hype in the market. So that fomo buyer buys coins, markets go up. Agree. XRP is too manipulated and over-inflated by its own company. I don't see it as a viable long term investment. It's often good for quick profits due to its fast speeds and inexpensive nature. But knowing that it's a centralized coin, brings a lot of risks with it. A better alternative to XRP is Stellar Lumens. It's community-oriented, and decentralized with a fair distribution. Coin supply is not manipulated (AFAIK) unlike XRP. I'd bet that within a couple of years from now, XRP will fail altogether while XLM takes the lead.

As far as price prediction goes, the only ATH XRP will ever get is $5. It will not get past that because of the aforementioned reasons. For what I know, XRP is not as widely used as other cryptocurrencies on the market. It's been all about bank partnerships, than anything else. This shows us that people are not using it seriously for daily payments. With lack of demand and real-world usage, I don't see it going anywhere. Stellar Lumens are a better option, in my own opinion. It's far more decentralized than XRP, with the same technology and features. There are some decentralized exchanges built on the Stellar Protocol, which makes XLM much more attractive than XRP itself. I've heard that the SDF (Stellar Development Foundation) will be adopting the Lightning Network on the Stellar Lumens ledger soon. If they successfully adopt this Layer-Two scaling solution, XLM will be able to become a lot faster and more capable than XRP. It's expected that XLM will "topple" XRP on the market sometime in the future.

Nonetheless, $14 per XRP is a very optimistic target. If it does happen, it would've been because Bitcoin reached new ATHs. After all, altcoins follow Bitcoin's "footsteps" on the market. Exactly. I think XRP is a goner, because of heavy manipulation on the market. No one would want to "hodl" a centralized cryptocurrency for the long term. XRP is meant to be used in the short term due to its economic model. Being a "settlement system" could prove to be extremely beneficial for banks and governments alike. But knowing that XRP has been unable to provide real use cases for the mainstream world, it looks unlikely that it'll become a success anytime soon.

I'd say that XRP will be worth cents instead of dollars in the future. $14 per XRP seems to be a lot, considering the coin's total supply. The latest ATH of XRP was well over $3 per coin. Many people really do far-fetched speculations. The article posted by the OP was published at the beginning of this year, and look at where we are now. We are almost at the end of this year, and the pandemic mostly consumed the life of many people, bitcoin is already going up at a very impressive rate and yet, XRP is still in the $0.2X level. Don't get me wrong, I like XRP for transfer purposes but if given the chance to choose between XRP and BTC, definitely I will go for the latter. For XRP holders, reaching $1-5 in the next coming months is like maybe a dream already. But $14, I don't think they will achieve that price in the next coming years. XRP could never be that high, even 1 dollar seems to be something very high for it but lets give it a fair cap at around 5 dollars and nothing more. You explain how absurd the hopium on $14 price per coin then your target is still a moonbois price. Any price more close to 1$ is already a greedy price considering the marketcap of this coin and the reason behind the pump. The scenario between the 2017 bull run compared to current bull run is far different. The current price is just a hype for the upcoming Airdrop and this just a temporary hype. That's certainly true, mate. There's virtually no way XRP could reach new ATHs on its own. Only a bull market will make XRP increase in price within a short amount of time. If Ripple wants to make its XRP token more valuable, it's going to need to reduce its supply by burning tokens over time. Otherwise, I don't see it going anywhere. I believe that XRP will be valued below $1 for quite a long time. At least, it serves its purpose well in being a fast and cheap payments network for the whole world to enjoy. But it won't be widely successful as other cryptocurrencies on the market because of its centralized model.

Nonetheless, there are far better coins out there on the market with a better degree of decentralization than Ripple's XRP. For instance, Stellar Lumens is a decentralized version of XRP. It enjoys ultra-fast transaction confirmation times with a low-fee model. The XLM cryptocurrency could simply overtake XRP in the future, if the latter lacks real use cases in the mainstream world. With the Stellar team removing the inflation mechanism built into the protocol, the coin might experience new highs in the future. Personally, I did not consider XRP as a store of value as I work more with ETH. But after several years of working in the crypto industry, I realized that there is a cyclical development of the crypto market and if we are talking about the future peak of a particular cryptocurrency, we must look back and see how the previous cycles went. Having studied XRP from this side, I saw that the peak of this cryptocurrency occurred at the end of 2017 and amounted to more than $ 3 for 1 XRP. If now we are talking about the fact that the price can reach a new peak of $ 14 for 1 XRP, then this turns out to be an increase of almost 5 times from the previous value. Could this be? Every prediction will not help the XRP coin to increase its price more than 10$ because the Bitcoin market cap should be very high. Agree. A target of $14 per XRP seems too optimistic to me. It's an insane price for XRP considering the level of inflation it has. The hard cap of a billion XRP tells us that the token is not meant to be valuable over the long term. If Ripple wanted its token to be a store of value like Bitcoin, it would've reduced its supply by now. Besides, the company controls a large portion of tokens on the market. This means that constant dumps are expected, reducing XRP's chances to gain new ATHs in price. The only way XRP will go up in price is if there's a massive bull run on the crypto market. Other than that, it'll remain below the $1 range for a very long time.

AFAIK, the recent pump in XRP's price is only attributed to the Spark airdrop. So many people out there looking to make a quick buck with Spark's free token offering to XRP holders. After the hype is over, expect to see XRP's prices going all the way down the drain. Considering all of XRP's limitations, I think the most realistic price for it would be $0.25 - $0.40 per coin. A price above $1 will not be sustainable in the long run.

Nonetheless, there are far better coins out there than XRP. The utterly centralized model of the XRP Ledger, will lead it to its demise in the future. Not even the airdrop had a positive effect over XRP's price. It shows us that there's lack of interest compared to other cryptocurrencies on the market. XRP hasn't been able to rise on its own because of its utterly centralized model. Nobody wants a coin that's subject to manipulation, fraud, and corruption. Ripple's XRP token becomes no different than traditional banking. Aside from the way XRP is organized, the token itself has an enormous supply. Ripple should burn XRP tokens periodically in order to help increase its price on the market. Otherwise, it'll become nothing more than a hyper-inflated cryptocurrency like Dogecoin. I see XRP more as a short-term solution than a long term one, being useful as digital cash for daily payments than a store of value like Bitcoin. It does its job pretty well by settling transactions in the quickest way possible without breaking the bank. Sending micropayments with XRP becomes extremely practical for the public.

This is very bad news. If exchanges continue to de-list XRP, its long term price on the market will be affected. The reason why this is happening, is because of the SEC lawsuit. That's what you get with a centralized coin manipulated by a single entity. Ripple holds a large share of XRP on the market, giving it the ability to do as it pleases with the token's price. If Ripple wants to make the XRP project decentralized, it's going to need to distance itself from it. Otherwise, the government will be on its tail for not complying with securities laws. As long as XRP experiences difficulties in complying with regulations, its price will continue to sunk deeper. At its current state, it seems impossible to reach a target of $14 per coin. Right now, XRP is heading into being worth pennies instead of dollars. It's very unlikely it'll go up in price during the short term.

Nonetheless, time will tell us what lies ahead with the future of XRP. There are far better options out there on the market which are much more decentralized, reliable, and trustworthy. People can enjoy all of the benefits of XRP (quick transaction confirmation times and low fees) using a decentralized alternative like Stellar or Nano. XRP is in a terrible situation right now. The SEC lawsuit will cause damage to XRP to a point where it's no longer listed on mainstream crypto exchanges. This should make XRP's prices go all the way down the drain at a very fast pace. Unless the company complies with securities laws, XRP will be doomed. Whenever this proves to be a good buying opportunity or not, it's up to the investor to decide. Believe me, there are far better options out there on the market. Decentralization is all what matters in order to prevent third-party interference. That's what XRP is missing, making it no different than the traditional banking system of today.

Ripple cant distance itself from XRP cause they both belong to the same parent and if it happen that it distant itself from XRP more people that still hold onto their XRP will sell their holding cause it just like the situation of Charlie I used as an example earlier.

I expect XRP to dump below the price you mentioned since there is no positive news about their issue with the SEC and they seems to have loose some primary investors already but I believe the reason it still at the $0.02 is because of the Spark airdrop cause XRP have no benefit to the crypto community and the only use cases I think it had are the partnership with Money Gram and some institutions (of which I dont know it the partnership is still on).

The funny thing about coins like these is that it's not even exactly news that all these shady things have been going on for years. People just tend to forget or ignore what's obvious and proven. Myself included, not totally blameless. I bought XRP simply for a price temptation during the dip. Knowing very well what the risks are with this coin.

They should really be doing that if they dont like to go down in rankings in the entire cap.They havent still resolved their issue yet? It currently rank 5 on CMC.

The price is somewhat stabilizing after that price dip which does indicates that there are still people whom do trust up this project.

Going to $14 for XRP? It is even hardly able to reach $1 now at the moment excluding into those 2017 bull run days but well who knows if it would push that high
but for a centralized thing? i doubt that it would happen.
