Right time for gambling addicts to come out of addiction?

But the question is , is this the right time for gambling addicts to come out of addiction? The assumption I am making here is  that the gambling addicts are addicts on sports betting and not casino game addiction or poker .

A gambling addict will always find a way to gamble because obviously they are now addicted to that activity. Their mind will find that desire of doing gambling. They will never realized that it's time now to stop gambling just because of the virus scare. That's the reality and by far the closest thing to happen.

There are still sports events that open for betting so basically these gamblers still have options and gambling life will continue. Those who are addicted to sports betting will consider placing bets on other sports or games even that's now out of their knowledge.

In addition to that, there's no right time when you need to stop your gambling addiction. It is your decision when will that happen. And if you think this situation will help you stop your gambling addiction, then you need to be firm with yourself that you are now stopping your habit even after this corona virus is over. Because if it is only because of this pandemic situation, then, your effort to forget gambling is useless.

With the current situation, any sane individual whether he is a gambler or just a simple investor tend to stop. A normal person will naturally forgot doing vice (at least for now) simply because he will make himself or his own family his first priority. But if a particular gambler never do such thing and just continue gambling like there's no tomorrow then I feel pity for him. I might say he is totally crazy for it — a compulsive and uncontrolled one. I doubt any friendly advice will work for him any longer, if the only way for him to realize all his wrong deeds is get infected then so be it *knock on the wood. You are right. We decide by ourselves when we need to stop. But I don't think that if we are addicted to gambling will think about that since we know that we can play gambling every time. We know this is an unexpected break, but it could be a blessing in disguise for them to realize that they've gone too far, that they are not responsible anymore, maybe by the time sports that we love will resume in operation, we will see a brand new gambler that learn from a few days or months of break.

It depends on a gambler or person because not all sports bettor are just only on betting but also they can choose anytime on playing casino games instead

Safety first before talking about betting. Although, here in the country there's no form of coronavirus and every gambler are going about their usual ways doing what they know how to do. Am just back from Bet Naija where I went to place a bet on today teams, so, nothing like fear of coronavirus. But bad news for those addict in those affected areas, its time to come out of addiction as this is the only means they can be safe from the virus. I think for safety purpose no one will like to take any risk all because of gambling to go around the entire city which the pandemic still ravaging. This is the case here and not otherwise, gambling addicts will not present themselves in an environment that's not good because if they contact the deadly disease it may affect the entire family of the victim as we have seen in the news. There will be less activity for now on those gambling addicts to gamble especially sports bettors but it doesn't mean they have to get out from addiction because of the current situation. There are many ways to fulfill gambler's interest to gamble, a usual behavior from an addict.

Coming out to addiction is not an easy task to do. It's way better to limit the gambling activity slowly rather than stopping it fully.

For a time like this, taking a break should be considered. Gamblers can come back again once the situation got controlled.

But I don't think that if someone plays on sports and gets excited with the games will get the same experience if he tries the other gambling games because the feeling will be different. They will try many gambling games until they can found one or two gambling games that can give them an exciting feeling. yes of course they arent . thier emotions still need to adjust but the long time they play dice and roullete they will soon feel the thrilll and excitement that entails with those games   and who says there are no available sports book ? not all games are cancelled but there are still some sports that can be continued  playing with   . in this way gamblers can still gambling  so this isnt the time yet for them to quit thier gambling addiction but willing gamblers wont let the addiction win  , they can always quit and stop no matter what time whether there is a virus or not  .

Anyways, I think this is the great time to go out of your way and find a different one. If you think your gambling habits are harming your way of life, I think it's time to go in a change of phase. This is easier said than done, but as you can see, people who are addicted to gambling can use this time to gather resources for their home needs instead of playing. The world is in danger of losing to this virus. people are losing their job and most of them are losing their money in this pandemic. As a former addicted gambler I can speculate that with people hunkering down due to the fear mongering associated with COVID-19 we may see an uptick in online gambling and whatnot.
People tend to gamble when they are bored, have financial stress or to scratch social itches.. So it is likely we will see an uptick of gambling.

With that being said, some people should not gamble due to being entirely compulsive about it, and gambling more than they can afford to lose.
While an alright form of entertainment (albeit a potentially expensive one) it shouldn't be viewed as anything more than that.
