i'm having issues with solo.ckpool.org on port 3333 .. been mining fine for at least a month then just stopped today .. I've troubleshooted the issue and it looks like I cant ping it .. I'm using a bitaxe 602
i've rebooted my router as well and restarted my miner
ping 15.204.102.129
Pinging 15.204.102.129 with 32 bytes of data: Request timed out. Request timed out. Request timed out. Request timed out.
let me know what you think .. ChatGPT is saying my IP might have been dropped

Its likely gremlins in the matrix, I have no ping issues here and as far as I know CKPool doesn't go around blocking IP's. Could be a routing issue with your ISP, have you tried one of the other pool locations to rule out local configuration issues? Try running on eusolo.ckpool.org for a test

Well you could say the same about ckpool - it's only run by him - and only a couple of nodes doing block distribution. In the past ckpool has stopped providing new work and people were mining garbage, that wouldn't produce a valid block, without knowing it coz he doesn't treat is as an on going 24/7 concern (Edit: or I should point out how he's lost around 5 blocks also due to negligence)
Curious about this statement from Kano (from another thread) and if we're talking about issues at CK Pool from nearly a decade ago or something relatively recently? Not trying to bring up old beef or upset anyone, I just want to better understand if this was long ago and thus long since addressed (ie a non-issue today) or is this something that still comes up here to this day? Really I'm just wonder how often this pool doesn't "produce new work" and how/where we would become aware of this, should it occur now for example. Note: I've been solo mining here for about 4 years and feel fairly confident the pool works and pays out as intended - which are two of the most important factors to consider IMO. Lastly, judging from other posts (originating from Kano for the most part) I understand there is some sort of tension btwn Kano and CK, so I'll take Kano's statement with a grain of salt in the context of him comparing his pool to CK's pool. As an aside, the US pool is over 130% and personally I'd love to get a Block, so... good luck everyone, especially me!

How would anyone actually know if the pool had stopped generating new work, it wouldn't be obvious at all; you'd specifically need to be looking at each request and comparing it to the last. Kano does seem to have a flair for the dramatic in his replies so perhaps it was an old issue as you say. A bit of an odd thing to drag up from the past though.

Aside from the 24x7 bit (IRL -ck is an anesthetist so cannot constantly monitor the pool) it is all old history. The issues mentioned including the junk work bug are all buried in this thread and were owned up to and addressed by -ck long ago.

It just so happens that I live in Russia. A few months ago, one ISP on one my site began to block the miner's connection to ckpool in some way - the cgminer displays only stale shares. A couple of days ago, this happened at my house too. What options do I have to continue mining on ckpool, other than deploying my own instance of ckpool on some VPS (in BTCSOLO mode or in one of the proxy modes, which I haven't fully figured out yet)?

If you have some old hardware around you can run your own bitcoin node and ckpool instance locally. CK has provided this script that will set up everything for you https://bitbucket.org/ckolivas/ckpool/src/master/scripts/install-ckpool-solo.sh

Yes, thank you, I've seen the instructions. That's just the first post also says that Local solo mining is not recommended unless you have a high bandwidth low latency connection and optimised bitcoin daemon, And it is still unclear how exactly should the daemon be optimized. Although I think that proxy itself will not help either - when trying to mine on public-pool.io the same pattern is observed. I'll have to hide the traffic from the provider's eyes in some advanced VPN...

The better your hardware, the better your connection, the more peers you have, the less your chances of an orphan should you happen to find a block. Your old hardware can still do the job fine. And your context is that you have no connection at all. Pretty sure mining to your own node is better than not mining at all. Thats why I recommended it.

Is the US pool currently down? My ASIC is rebooting because it cannot submit shares, plus the pool status page is inaccessible.

solo.ckpool.org had a drive issue and was down for 50 minutes. I've had to restart it with fresh storage so stats will be off.

I'll be restarting the solo ckpools shortly for some internal updates. Downtime should be negligible.

After today's pool reset, half of the hashrate was rejected. Before that, everything was fine. On port 3333, it cuts up to 90%, and on port 4334, it cuts half. Can you tell me what can be done? Perhaps its a local issue with your network or something. Just re-start your miners and see if that resolves your problem. Also, please post in English if you can. It makes it easier for people to help. Thanks!
