There's a DDoS currently affecting https://solo.ckpool.org again. Mitigations are in place and the service seems to be uninterrupted for the time being, but if you experience any connectivity issues this is the reason. I have no idea what the motive for the attack is.

The reason ...

Is TFG ... Nothing Else!

I don't understand what anyone gets out of attacking the pool.
Let us know if you know more ck
So far I don't see any effects that disturb our miners, I'm glad that the pool is so stable.

Best regards and happy Mining

Thanks, I have no idea, but it may just be caught in the crossfire while attacking someone else at the same collocation. Anyway it's over now.

What is the minimum share rate (shares per minute) that the pool will accept before ignoring a miner or rejecting it?

Thanks

The pool never rejects any miners. It may appear to "ignore" miners with ultra low hashrates but that's just because they're too low to report, they're not being rejected or ignored.

OK Thank you.

I was experimentally adjusting one of my rigs to run with a high requested pool diff and of course the number of shares it submits are fewer with the increased diff and I wanted to be sure that it wouldnt eventually get ignored.

It all seems to be running OK even with a much higher diff setting.

Am I correct in thinking that the CGMiner SW will generate new work locally until a >pool diff share is found then it gets a new template to work off, or have I misunderstood the mechanics behind it.

Thanks for your help.

How does one know if they solved the block other than a surprise in your wallet???

How does one know if they solved the block other than a surprise in your wallet???

I can think of three methods in addition to your wallet as you say:
1) I assume you see the surprise in your wallet only after one confirmation or perhaps two confirms (meaning, Blocks solved after your Block), but you can see Blocks getting accepted in real time at sites like: https://mempool.space/

2) Plus, you can also see the stats for your workers/wallet where you'll see a huge number [currently 108+Trillion, but Difficulty changes every two weeks approximately]  as your new Best Share. For that go to https://solo.ckpool.org/users/INSERT-YOUR-WALLET-ADDRESS-HERE

3) Lastly, all the pool stats are reset after a Block, so if you check here you can see if the stats are reset: https://solo.ckpool.org/pool/

And I announce all block solves here and on X.

For the low total hashrate currently on the pool, and the very small number in the Asia-Pacific region, I can't justify the expense of another full node. AP users are adequately serviced by the main pool which is on the west coast of USA.

Re: https://eusolo.ckpool.org, sadly the anonymous individual who offered to fund the server's running has retracted their offer. This & the stats incident has confirmed my belief I should not rely on others. I will likely now fund it myself but will need to migrate the service.

Not here they didn't. That's not a solo ckpool block. It was just someone running the ckpool code.

That's sad to hear, please keep us informed when you intend on moving the eusolo server again.

In the mean-time, should we consider re-connecting to the main pool solo.ckpool.org?

Thanks for your efforts.

Eu pool will remain up at all times, whether the existing one or the new one when I migrate to it, so stay there if it's the better choice for you.

eusolo.ckpool.org seems to be down at present.

I guess you're moving the server, hope it all goes well.

No it's not, it's working fine.

I have ordered a new server for EU, and there should effectively be no downtime for http://eusolo.ckpool.org as I migrate services once the new one is provisioned in a few days. I'll post updates as they come to hand.

I've got no access to it presently and the main stats page is showing last update over 2 hours ago
