Hi Pineapples, thank you for your interest.

Carboncoin is pure PoW with added security features and a very short halflife enabling it to run at a very low hashrate/energy usage ongoing while allowing the same features and functionality of Bitcoin.

PoS was debated at length at the start of the project and we concluded that our solution would be more effective over the long term in achieving our goals.

At this stage we ask people to lend some small hashrate to keeping the network going if they are able but other than that it is recommended that people buy coins - as it is much more efficient to do so than to mine.

If you'd like to have a think about joining the community and helping out please feel free to drop me your skype handle or come through the social media, would be more than happy to find some time to fill you in on the near and long term things going on

I'm sure you'll get yours soon. Your balance is probably a lot bigger than mine this why it might take a little more time because they are probably doing all the transactions manually.
