CarbonCoin has been added to Crypto Wallet Notifier (Its a service that notifies you when there is an update for the coin wallet). http://cryptowalletnotifier.com/That's great news, thank you! We have one ready to go, just trying to get the main pools switched first. Hashrapid admin is MIA as usual, so if you are a miner reading this please switch back to the basshash pool for at least the next 24 hours. Will be releasing the new wallet as soon as majority of hashpower is on the new client. Will be V. 0.7 BTW we need to start a poll here for the logo designs because it seems like no one is willing to make an account over at coinstack to vote for a logo (I am one of them). I am going to give all of the people who submitted designs some amount of CARB proportionate to their efforts regardless of whether they win or not. I'm going to do the same thing and I'm giving away 500k CARB to anyone who submitted a design for the logo.

The low caliber of troll on this thread is really disheartening; it seems that wit is dead, but fuckwit is still alive.
New wallet working great!

But it was fixed, so how was that a fail exactly?

Major vulnerability and took over a month to fix it. Fail.
But it was fixed, so how was that a fail exactly? It is a fail because it shows that next time there is a major vulnerability to the client, potentially one where you can loose your coins, they will be slow to fix it. Other coins were fixed for this almost immediately and many other copy paste clones quickly followed as well. I'm not the only one to think this, here is a whole thread dedicated to this exact issue: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563790.0

Anyone want to tell the maggot that in order to push this, our first upgrade, we had to move the entire network onto an entirely new repository because the original repo was not being updated and we did not have access to it, and that is not as simple as downloading a new compiler - not that the maggot, who has never been able to demonstrate contributing to anything at all ever, would be able to handle a task like that anyway. You could also let him know that subsequent critical updates will be able to be made much faster as a result of the new repo, and that he will get to watch it all unfold before his very eyes - knowing that all his activities have ultimately achieved, if there are people actually listening to his brand of hogwash, is lowering the carbon footprint which we have already comfortably offset many times over.

You could only lose coins if you were using the SSL capabilities of the client. Were you using the SSL capabilities of Carboncoin, or of any coin for that matter? Personally I have never used the SSL capabilities of any coin client ever for pools, services or my own wallets. Give AM a break. The issue has now been fixed and I am sure future security updates will be dealt with in a timely manner.

Thank you for your support ethought! It's all good thouugh. He's been trolling this thread pretty consistently since he blessed us all with his hastily formed opinions on the environment all that time ago. If you address his objections he swerves and makes new ones. Nothing new or original. Low hashpower is good for our carbon footprint! Couldn't be happier with the state of play. I have client funds waiting to go into this coin but they are on the sidelines at the moment, i am not playing yet so as not to get the multipools excited. Right now this coin can pretty much be solo mined and certainly mined by a domestic computer, I'd lke to keep it that way for as long as possible. After the rebrand I shall be ensuring that the wallets are distributed far and wide to get people doing this. He worked out who I was referring to all by himself though - I see a great future ahead for high functioning tree loving Dimmy-tree-us. I hope he keeps up the good work.

Please upgrade to the new windows wallet V. 0.7 +Checkpoints & heartbleed fix Good work AM, all seems to be coming together nicely! What are Checkpoints btw? So checkpoints are reference points in the blockchain which the blockchain can be rolled back to in the event of a catastrophic attack. Basically until last night we didn't have any so if someone had wanted to kill Carboncoin they could have 51%ed us and orphaned every block back to block number two. Now we have a checkpoint in at block 60k so that is as far back as we would have to go if we got security tested - so things just got A LOT more secure.
