We have two interesting matches today in La Liga opening day, and lets see if Real Oviedo can score a goal against Villarreal after decades of playing in lower leagues.

Rayo Vallecano has surprised me yesterday. I was expecting Girona to win the match. But Rayo Vallecano has won it by dominating completely. I think most of us won't consider Girona as favourite in the upcoming matches. However, I'm glad that the free bet hasn't been credited before the start of the league. I would have wasted it by picking Girona to win in a parlay bet.

I expected Mallorca to score a goal in front of home crowd, but two red cards in first half made that impossible.
Barca could easily scored a few more goals in this match.

Barca could easily scored a few more goals in this match.

Solid opening game. Nothing fancy, but it's not needed at this part of season. Offcourse, I expected that they will score few more goals when Mallorca was with 9 players for such big part of game.

I don't really know why I backed Girona in this game. It looks that they will have to fight to avoid relegation this season. While Rayo looks great, I  see them fighting for spots in Europe again.

I watched the game up until Mallorca received their second red card. Jamal was a menace on the right flank he and Mojica had a real battle all the way through. After that, it wasn’t really interesting to watch Barca play against a 9-man squad.

If it had been the other way around, it would’ve been a super match  though Barca probably would’ve won anyway.

The biggest surprise so far is Rayo dominating Girona away with a 1:3 win. They looked fired up from the first whistle. Gazzaniga had a game to forget, and now he’ll have time to recover from this loss with a two-game ban.

Feels weird to wait until past weekend and still not yet Real Madrid or Atletico played, but I like them to wait. Simeone has not really done anything for this squad to suggest they can challenge for top position BUT I have a big feeling we haven't seen how Real will play for rest of season.

We all did. We forgot the Champions League quality Girona was a team from two seasons ago. They were regressing badly last season, but we have very bad selective memories. I'm guilty of it for the likes of Villareal too, even Celta.

No, on the contrary, you need to bet on Real with a handicap of -1 or -2, if we are talking about vulnerable teams then it is Liverpool which concede too many goals

I was also expecting them to win the match. I have used the free bet amount to place a parlay bet on Real Betis and Everton. I had 50% confidence on Everton to win and 80% confidence on Betis to win the match. But both of the away teams have disappointed me. Also, the penalty was easily given to Real — there was no significant contact between Mbappé and the Osasuna player. Other than that, only long-range attempts are worth mentioning from what Real created.

I don't think any team has figured out how to play effectively against a bus. Even prime Barcelona was regularly beaten in this way (games against Rubin are the most striking illustration). It's good that Real took three points, but it's bad that my multi bet (final odds 130 haha) burned out on the first outcome (Real's victory with a handicap of -1).
The next round will be very easy for the favorites, probably one game will be +- interesting: Athletic - Rayo Vallecano.

Last season, they sold their best striker to AS Roma, and Girona became a team struggling to score goals. Even if Michel was still the coach there or there was no change in manager, without good player resources, things would end badly. I've always disliked clubs that rush to sell their good players just because their market value has risen. They think that because they still have a good coach, they can still develop their existing players into even better ones.

Girona was already quite bad last season. But I think this season could be even worse. Last season, they finished 16th, and it's not impossible that they'll struggle to avoid the relegation zone this season.

Girona players seems to be enyoing the Barceloneta summer and not training enough.

The main problem for them is they are a b team of the Manchester City global management group, so they are not gonna be always on top, they receive the rotation of the players from the group and in some times that is super good and in other not that good.
