Marseille have reached an agreement in principle to sign England midfielder Angel Gomes on a free transfer.

The French club had been in talks to sign the 24-year-old, who announced in May that he would leave Lille when his contract expires this summer.

Premier League clubs Tottenham and West Ham were also linked with Gomes, but he has chosen to remain in Ligue 1.

Since joining from Manchester United in 2020, Gomes has scored 10 goals and provided 19 assists in 134 appearances for Lille.

He earned his first four senior caps for England under interim manager Lee Carsley last year, but has yet to feature under current boss Thomas Tuchel.

Gomes' move to Marseille will see him link up with former Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi and reunite with fellow Manchester United academy product Mason Greenwood.

The 23-year-old striker finished as last season's joint-top scorer in Ligue 1 with Paris St-Germain's Ousmane Dembele, with both scoring 21 league goals.

Marseille finished second to PSG to earn automatic qualification to the league phase of next season's Champions League.

For a team that won the treble, it is going to be a very very incredibly difficult summer. So, we are going to see PSG make some changes this summer too. I am not expecting them to have some stupid changes like send Dembele away and Doue and then get some worse player. The depth of the French champion club's squad is certainly great, I think they should increase their depth even more so that they are not weakened by injuries. Luis Enrique will certainly be keeping an eye on this, but they have not yet mentioned anything about this summer's transfer market. At the moment this club is focused on the FIFA Club World Cup maybe after this tournament is over they will focus on the transfer market. The way this team's manager has developed their midfielders, it's almost certain that they will be able to show something good at the FIFA Club World Cup. To defend the title, especially the Champions League, is certainly very difficult, especially if you only rely on the current players, it will certainly have a bad impact on PSG next season, especially since many teams have built better squads for next season. So Enrique must realize that, he needs to bring in new players to strengthen the reserve players so that when an injury occurs, there is an equally good replacement from the main players.

I don’t think that any player will like to leave PSG this summer, unless if it a player with no enough playing time and will want to go for another club that can give him playing time; but for all these players in the squad, they will stay for more than one season because they have the teamwork any team will dream of and they understand themselves as a team and they can win more titles like this.

One thing in life is that if it’s not your time, no matter how hard you try to get it, it will never come. But when it is your time, no one can stop it from coming.

I don't see patterns between these players. Neymar was useless for a long time for PSG, like he did with Al-Hilal, so he joined PSG for the money with his famous escape from Barcelona then he indeed left PSG for the money but also because he wasn't helpful for the team at all.
Lionel Messi joined PSG because he has friends there and to stay in Europe, otherwise he didn't find peace nor the help from his teammates so he decided to leave.
Kylian Mbappe is another story. He was in PSG because he is French and playing in the best team there to join later his dream team Real Madrid. In fact the French president and PSG president, made a lot of pressure on the player and his family to force him to stay, which was a mistake by the way.

Three players leaving PSG are different, dude.

PSG took utter most financial liability by signing Neymar with record breaking wages.
Why? cause his consistent injury issues make him spent a long time on the bench every season.
And even then Neymar left PSG after receiving an offer of even higher wages from the Saudi club.

If Neymar was not at there, then Messi probably would not have wanted to come to PSG.

We saw excellent form by players of Paris Saint-Germain football team as they did 5 goals in one match and performance of that team was at hipe because they did 5 goals which is not easy to do for any team.  One person did 2 goals but others did 1 ,1 goal in this match. The effort of that team was hundred percent and we all minutes of the match and opponent team could not do anything in this match as they could not do any goal in this match. The stats of that team was also good and shots of that team were 23 and 8 shots were on target and possession percentage of that team was 60 percent in this match.The possession percentage of opponent team was very low and that was 40 percent.

Yeah PSG has tried several methods just to get the champions League but could not and they even went as far as thinking if they have all the highest paid players on the team it will be easy for them and they did win it, it has been years now they have been trying and now they didn't expect it was when it come without the kind of stress other clubs usually go through before it became theirs, perhaps this was there destiny last season because they were not the brightest nor the team with the highest reputable non underated players, they didn't have the best but they made it flexible.

The news today is that Paul Pogba is heading to Monaco. What do you think about this? Pogba hasn't played football for a long time, but he has been training individually and he will return to football. He has been linked with many clubs, but it looks like he will return to play in France.
I wonder how he will return to football after his successful days at Manchester United and Juventus. He is past his prime and the long separation has dulled some of his qualities. Still, he is a very talented player and I think he can find a place in Ligue 1. He shouldn't expect too much in terms of salary though.
