This financial situation has been something that has started for long due to funds mismanagement by the team, and it has been affecting the team for more than three seasons now since they can’t even perform in the same standard they are supposed to perform due to how bad they are financially; they are supposed to be the first team after PSG, but they finished fourth in the table this season behind Lens and Lille. If this financial problem extends, they might have poor performance come next season because other teams are preparing really well for next season.

You know that football is money and you need money to strengthen your team to gain profi. If Lyon are having some financial problems, let them sell the club to someone else who is rich enough to take care of the problem and liberate the club instead, of going on relegation because of debts.

If I'm not mistaken they were relegated to league two as an administrative sanction in the previous year but were successfully appealed, then followed by further demands during the John Textor era and now they have chosen a new leader Michele Kang, and because of that situation they also sold Afonso to Bayer Leverkusen but the salary burden supervision sanction that is on this team is now active, whether they can pass or not should be if with the latest results they can still survive despite having many cases that occurred, and as long as they can still play well and produce achievements they should still be able to survive in league 1.

So in Ligue 1, having only one or two financially powerful clubs competing isn't enough. The league needs at least 5 or 6 clubs with the financial strength to sign top quality players if it wants a genuine title race and a much more exciting competition overall.
