City got a huge hit from Manchester Utd in their last match but I think they will be very focused on a win against Southampton to maintain their great general form. Southampton finally got a win after many weeks but it was against Sheffield though.    But still I think Southampton will manage to withstand City until a certain point but City will defeat them.

Perhaps the issue is that they gave up months ago once they realised they weren't going to win the title... never suspecting that they might even lose their Champion's League place.

Assuming this is correct, then why they didn't woke up and start winning again? They are risking not only a spot for CL but even the EL one right now! Chelsea and West Ham won yesterday with 2 goals although facing good teams. No one will sacrifice its position for Liverpool, they have to resume winning or else it will be a disaster for them this year.

There is always this weird kind of situation where let's say you are playing playstation with a friend, and you let him get ahead because you know that you can easily beat him, but then he comes in and beats you instead, that could always happen and I think there is a chance that may have happened for Liverpool, they knew they would be easily in champions league, and they just let go of the pedal, and when they tried back again, they just couldn't figure out what's wrong and failed.

I really doubt that they would go to Europe next season, if they do that from here that would be an incredible achievement, I can say that there is a huge chance that they will be just playing league and fa cup next season and not going to play any european cup games. That will be a wake up call for them, they will realize what is wrong and be a lot better next year with some fixes.

I wonder whether the defeat against Man Utd will affect City badly in this match and they will lose points again. To me, I don't think so. Because they have been winning for many weeks until that match and I don't think only one loss can demoralize them. Southampton are not a tough opponent for them too now as Southampton are too away from their performance at the beginnings of this season. I believe that City will get a win with at least 2-goal difference.

The lose againts manchester united was normal in my opinion and i believe city will contineu their show in the premier league...southampton have nothing to lose in this match and also nothing to gain and i believe man city can score more than 2 goals

They won't give any room for complacency against Southampton their loss against Man City has come and gone they just have to remain focus while competiting for  remaining trophies of which EPL trophy is guaranteed if they can continue to be consistent in their winnings the remaining matches of course they are also eyeing UCL trophy which had been elusive to them in last few seasons ago I hope they do well this season.

I also agree that Manchester City are the team favorites against Southampton, and should win the game easily. Regarding the defeat of
Manchester City against Manchester United, bad luck can happen to any team. managed to reach 21 consecutive wins is a very good
achievement. So it's normal for Manchester City to lose every once in a while, will not have too much effect on Manchester City players.
Moreover, Southampton performance is indeed very bad, in the last 5 matches only able to win one match. So it is very clear that
the Manchester City vs Southampton match is very predictable, I really believe Manchester City can get 3 points easily.

Of course, I don't see something that Man City needs to be afraid of against Southampton. Not sure if they will win easily or not, but I am sure if they will get 3 points this time. They already got no points yesterday, now it is time to come back to positive performance again. Winning at this match may be crucial to motivate all players after the previous losing.

Yes, they have bad luck in the previous match. Just look at the stats of the match! Actually, Man City was dominating the match but unfortunately they couldn't make even a single goal. However, it was not a big problem, they are still leading with 11 points gaps on the table.

I'll advise you not to bet on goals in this match as this is likely to end 0-0 at halftime. This is the period where every team apply caution, they pay more attention to their defence as every team are battling for positions. Southampton are not far from being drop to relegation red zone if they should lose their next two games, they will fight it all against Mancity.

Southampton also has their own injury troubles and with recent injury of Danny Ings their top leading scorer it becomes quite hard to attack the City defense line. Minamino is back and with Ings absence Che Adams would start alongside Nathan Tella. They could produce some good counter attacks but without Ings that fine edge would be missing. Saints need to focus on their defense as well. In Derby, United did well by not giving City players to move inside from middle like Gundogan and others used to do. They limited those plays from wing positions but they also did well to check those threats. Saints should do that as well.

I also think that Manchester City won't have much problem on beating Southampton in Etihad. The loss against Manchester Utd shouldn't misguide people. Every team lose a match in the end. We should keep in mind that they have a great form and Southampton are not a team that can stop them now.

on paper, the points collected by Man City are quite a lot when compared to other teams and if they win 70%  from the next match then it is confirmed that Man City will be the champion. for Liverpool, well I'm sorry about their setback this season.

Southampton are seven points away from the relegation zone and there are ten matches left (which is 11 for them) to the end. They finally won a match last week and took a deep breath. They will try to continue a good form to be at a safer position. But here imo, they really have no chance against City. The main goal of City will be making up for the loss vs Man Utd. I think that City will be victorious with at least 2-goal difference.
