There is not much time left for the Liverpool - Everton game. Most people must be looking at this game like Liverpool will be the winner side. I don't think different than that either. Liverpool are really in need of a win right now after losing points for two weeks. They played two tough games and couldn't get what they wanted.

Everton aren't much different than their performance in the previous season. They are still a struggling team I'm afraid. While they are having hard days I don't see light for them in Anfield today. Liverpool should be able to get even a convincing score here.

I'm willing to bet that Liverpool will have a hard time defeating Everton today and will not be surprised if they lose. They were able to beat Liverpool 3-0 in 2006 when Everton played hosts to Liverpool in another Merseyside derby and who knows, history could repeat itself today?
Liverpool have been turning tables around for the past three to four games, coming from a goal or two down to winning and so far, it's Tottenham and Brighton that has cut that streak short, who knows if Everton will not give them such an opportunity if they open the goal scoring and possibly keep a clean sheet?

Liverpool will struggle only if everton will be using fully defensive strategy. That being said that if liverpool will not be struggling to scoring the goals against everton as long as the club will be playing openly against liverpool. I think that everton's coach was also aware about the gameplay of liverpool.
Everton may also use fully defensive aka parking bus strategy against liverpool. I have no doubt that if everton will do that caused by that was the only chance owned by everton to steal full points from liverpool. Everton did very well by holding Liverpool to a draw in the first half but the way and manner the visitors are playing I don't think they can hold on for too long, because the Liverpool side are very fast when it comes to counter attack but when the Everton side are in possession of the ball to get a goal they ain't that fast to beat the Liverpool defense.
This is going to be another loss for Everton because I can't see them still playing out a draw after Ashley Young got the red card. Young was doing a great job by marking Diaz, but sending him off is going to be a disaster for Everton in the second half and I was hoping to see Everton get a win in this derby but as it is, is going to the home side to get a comfortable win.

The coach will certainly make changes to cover up the loss of Ashley Young at right back. Ben Godfrey can be deployed in the right back wing to fill in with an attacking player taken off, hopefully not Calvert Lewin. Darwin Nunez could be called in later on but for now, Luiz Diaz is manning that wing and he hasn't been doing so badly. I feel Liverpool can begin to call the shots now especially as a very key player has been sent off in the person of Ashley Young for Everton but it will be difficult. There's coordination in their passes but it's as if they've still not used that shoot from the outside tactics that they used in past games which is quite needed right now as the defense of Everton will not be able to predict that one, so far they've managed to block any chances of Liverpool when they try to get into their 18 yard box.

Yes, there is a hope that Liverpool will use second half to do wonders to flog Everton 2:0 to move to second position because they were able to maintain highest ball possession through out the 45 minutes in the first half, and their goalkeeper has show some improvement in the first half to save some balls not to enter the goalpost. Despite the prepare Everton defenders prepared to make this game hard for Liverpool strikers not to score goals like the way they use to scored goals to beat their opponent, but the second half will make Everton players know that Liverpool is among the strongest team in this tournament.

One of the challenge that is affecting Everton from the beginning of this tournament, which will still affect them in this game is that they don't have enough strength to display like the way they use to displayed in the first half which will surely give Liverpool the opportunity to win the game.
