We must be patient, mate. We are not in the same situation, some of us may experience a more difficult situation. Like in my country, you cannot expect to pay some goods at the supermarket as it is forbidden to use Bitcoin for payment purposes. Rupiah is the only thing that is allowed to be a payment tool. You are not alone...almost Bitcoin holders have waiting that moment to come and spend their holdings. This is the reason why most of us are considering Bitcoin only for investment, not a form of currency. In the meantime, and those countries that don't accept crypto for payment option they usually converted it into FIAT money which I also use oftentimes.

The development isn't that fast as we want it, many still not aware of this and also many people had been doubtful due to its volatility. Even though the use of crypto is already legalized in a particular area but it also depends on you as the owner of that establishment if you accept it. The same thing is happening to others. The price will never stabilise. It will calm down as the whole thing grows but sooner than we expect its inflation will become effectively nominal. It could be the accepted payments if you buy something that is more than the transaction fees, just imagine you are paying the transaction and the fee is more than the transaction itself. This is what I am afraid by using cryptocurrency in this case Bitcoin as the payment on supermarket, they could suffer with expensive fees and confirmation speed.

I also prefer the latter getting paid in Bitcoin and and spend Bitcoin in important stuffs like groceries and paying my bills directly with Bitcoin I have to convert my Cryptocurrency to fiat first before I can do that, but maybe it's going to happen 5 years from now depends on how fast is the adoption but hoping it will happen.

Yes indeed. As a part of crypto world, we all wanted for the crypto currency to be recognized around the globe but it doesn't happen because there are a lot of things to consider and one of the main points is the volatility of the bitcoin just like what you have said. I don't think some projects from DeFi, chainlink, and polkadot are competitors for bitcoin because bitcoin still leads the market. You can look around at the market what will happen with bitcoin price will happen to with altcoin and the other tokens. But the token mostly following with ethereum price, and ethereum price is following bitcoin price.

Perhaps, the stable coins can be used as the payment system as the stable coins' price is not too volatile. I think the customer will not worry about seeing the price up to and down when they want to pay something.

The first factor that I always doubted is government regulation, how they regulate bitcoin as payment system where as we can still money fiat for payment system. It can be a two payment system in one country and I think the government never regulate it especially in my country. They believe that our money fiat has long history and it is a symbol of statehood, so it impossible to happen in my country.

And the second factor is fee per transaction where now we don't need to pay any fee for any transaction when we use money fiat. But as you may know when you make a transaction with bitcoin then there is fee that will be charge and it expansive now. I can buy 3 kg of rice just to pay for one transaction using bitcoin. But who knows if there is a way like using lightning network or another way that makes the fees for transaction is low, maybe it would be preferable.

Stable coins are issued by third parties and you would have to trust them for not dumping on the market whenever they want, but this isn't the problem with bitcoin as it isn't a centralized cryptocurrency and due to its decentralized nature we don't have to worry about the exit scams as that of other centralized currencies or with the premined ones. So higher are the chances of either bitcoin becoming the widely accepted crypto or a new centralized crypto made by the union of banks or on a per country basis becoming the leading currency of the future.

Before the 2017 fee spike happened, Steam used to accept bitcoin as mode of payment. I wish that could be brought back. The experience of paying directly from your wallet on a desktop or an app with nothing connecting you to the payment except your address does feel kindda empowering. The problem is that the authorities, media and even general public is way too skeptical for people who want "privacy".

Another thing is that those with larger stacks to spend would obviously love to find a way to buy daily necessities, food etc for bitcoin. For the likes of me who weren't here early on, stacking up is more important. Yet if i had a reliable, trustworthy method, I would love to use the replacement method of spending bitcoin. You use bitcoin for the payment and buy and equivalent amount using the fiat you would have otherwise spent. Totally get OPs desire to actually be able to use it. I think the stable coins are not for dump or pump coins because so far, the stable coins price is not moving too high or low and tend to still stable. So if the government wants to use cryptocurrency, it will calm down people in the payment system because they can pay using the stable coins.

Bitcoin would be the investment type and the payment system, and the stable coins would be the payment system in the transaction.

You can try to pay something using bitcoin in the online store, and you will found that the price will always change, and the fee will always follow. But lets we wait for what each government will do related to use cryptocurrency at the supermarket.

It definitely is a dream come true but I do not think that we should hold on to that because I do not think we are getting close to mainstream yet, there will be a lot of blockades that bitcoin will have to surpass to have these things become a real thing I might sound like a pessimist but this is more on pragmatic, I believe that bitcoin can go to mainstream but their biggest blockade will be government, the more corrupt the government the bigger the blockade bitcoin has to surpass.
