Telegram is very useful to discuss but you should not invest in projects based on their telegram active or not. The Xfinance project is not worth investing in now, this coin has no future.

That's right, telegram has many uses, a project that has an active channel doesn't necessarily have success,
it all depends on the roadmap and the seriousness of a team from the project,
and indeed telegram activity can also analyze a project too, although not 100% accurate it is also quite helpful.

Fake projects can be active on their telegram groups, real projects with good use cases can be less active on their telegram group, it's stupid to use telegram activities to judge any project, you should concentrate on how pro the teams are and also how usefulness the project will be for the audience

Hi all , I'm a newbie in bitcointalk but not in Crypto field. I have about 6 Years of experience about this field.

As an Investor , Still i have a doubt with some active telegram groups. I have analysed so many projects and Most successful projects had an Active telegram Group.

So far I have analyzed 500+ projects before investment  

My analysis Results are here

A)  9%      successful projects with an Active telegram group
B)  6%      unsuccessful projects with an Active telegram group
C)  25%    unsuccessful projects
D)  60%    scam projects

But Now I have decided to invest for a projects having an Active Telegram group , But tell me your openion about these type of projects.

If you have been in the crypto space for over that long period of time I believe by now you should be able to differentiate between a scam project and a legit one even without checking out their telegram group, cause it doesn't matter if the telegram group is active or not scammers can tell their friends to help them keep the group busy its that simple, having an active telegram group doesn't mean the project is legit, there's a chance it could be a scam project, about the project you talk about "Xfinance" have not heard about it, but it seems like it's one of those project scam projects trying to impersonate "YFI", I would advice you do more research before investing.

depending on the conversation they say whether it is in accordance with facts or just talk and does not prove the truth.
Some of the new projects that will be released sometimes even have telegram members above 20k members, sometimes I suspect where they get that much community, but after tracing several projects, they have already marketed or been active in social media first before making public sales.

Nowadays telegram is a mostly used platform to talk about crypto. I also joined a lot of crypto telegram group and getting information regularly from those groups. It's very useful as I like to do trade. but never I copy any trade blindly, I tried to get information from those groups. also If I found any legit trading setup I try to follow those. I never tried to join any VIP/Paid telegram group. Because most of them are fake and the owner of the group tried to dump his coin to us. so it's very risky at all.

When have new information will update on telegram channel so without active telegram channel discussion maybe investor not trust with some project and better looking for which one project have active telegram channel and wanna give more information. I will invest on project if always update on telegram channel and we can ask many information on telegram when asking many information. Right now almost project always focus on telegram channel to discuss which one good information and about exchange listing for their coin.

There are bunches of projects get scam with individuals who additionally had routineness and movement on gatherings. If my answers can be answered through any telegram group I'm ok with that but I will never make a decision by how active a project telegram groups is, both good and bad projects have weird telegram groups, sometimes they answer questions faster and sometimes a bit late

For social media I think only telegram group and twitter as most effective way with ICO project investing to get investor, maybe github is not good way how to get investor and telegram still interested to make investor trust, when looking telegram group active with discussion and update many time about ICO project investor could asking on telegram group how far development with ICO project, when distribution coin for investor until when listing coin on the exchange market, I think this why almost ICO project always have telegram group discussion to make many investor trusted with their project.

Telegram group activities can be seen as a way following the projects for newbies but scammers are also smart at using the Telegram activities to scam the newbies.
These scammers are sometimes a group of people networking together. Someone or two people may act as admins and about 20 to 30 who are scammers team will be the ones hyping the projects in the group so as to attract the people in the group to invest in their den and get scammed.

Telegram is a free messaging app. And most of the new or old projects wants to communicate with their fans and investors. So there is nothing better than a telegram group. Tg group are very easy to spread and everyone can join. And I think almost all projects whatever that is good or bad have 2 things tg group and Twitter handle. So I think it's hard to judge a projects by tg group is not appropriate. I think we should try other perimeter to judge a project.

Of course not, if you are real investor you won't just rely on active group since it can easily made some buzz on it by hiring some service or creating more accounts the best thing is to research and study the project on where you are planning to invest.

They can also give fake good news to keep lots of people interested in their project, so don't just focus on the telegram group if you don't want to be cheated by scammers who are very clever at the moment, but also look at their every activity, their road map, and their team composition, whether it's valid or not.

You are correct. There are a lot of fake news around Telegram and most of the news are for creating FOMO as well as FUDs. With these piece of rumors, telegram group owners can manipulate the market and buy coins in a cheap price and sell coins with a high price.

Moreover, there are many scam groups created to steal beginner cryptocurrency user. You can easily be stolen everything if you are carelessness.

Therefore, trust your own instincts and intuitions. Don't believe in anyone cause only you can make up your mind and earn money by yourself

Active groups do not mean the projects are going to be successful, sometimes they are just full of bounty hunters that just want to join the airdrop of the campaign that's why it's active, they also have some kind of rewards for active membership in the group, or if you have the highest invite in the group you will be rewarded, that's the reason why we though once active its successful, but in the end, after we have to spend money they just, I have disappeared, I also experience a group with only a few members but the projects are successful.

In my opinion, Telegram is essential as a form of communication between moderators, owners, and investors, and potential customers if you want to add that. It is not a guarantee though that a project is a good project just because they have an active Telegram group and the community is active. We need to get the whole picture about the project, what it is and what it is capable of in terms of delivering their goals whether it is a product or a service.
