I wouldn't worry too much about the swings, the best part is every time one of these "pumps" happens, someone just playing the markets this time, more uno makes its way into stronger hands. This is all natural and should not be looked upon in a negative light. What makes Uno awesome is the ability to come back. Other coins, decimated by what took place. Uno is just back to where it was before someone had fun with it, well a little dip now but that shouldn't be an issue.
Lol, Uno, the coin that plays you!
+1 it's entirely normal pump and dumps happen in a free and unregulated market. These can be hard to play for noobs but once you have the experience you actually profit from it. Correct, a coin without community would have died from this. In Unos' case: what doesn't kill you just makes you stronger. Seems we found a floor for now. We're still 50% up in last 30 days. Longtermers can't complain.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Hi vector.iso, here is a post of mine from a few pages back, this applies to what you are trying to do. Please note that if you don't already have an unobtanium.conf file, you will need to create one and make sure it contains: Then restart the client. Another note, if your passphrase includes a space or special character, you may need to surround it in quotes, like "my passphrase". Good luck! Regards, On a more serious note, I was able to download and use the app to create a vanity wallet. Great app! Big thanks to the developer!!
Question is this, after backing up my wallet, is there anyway to unencrypt the wallet in order to import the private key and then reencrypt?
If so, what is the procedure / console command line prompts?
Thanks!
1) Unlock your wallet for 10 minutes (600 seconds): walletpassphrase <your passphrase> 600 2) Import your private key: importprivkey <your private key> 3) Lock your wallet: Glad you like the vanity gen, feel free to donate: ucrYPTxQPKkb2WTU57PjurHbCHf3rACMJh @Fredder check out the info above. It helped me awhile ago...

Gustav brother! You scared away Bryce with so many questions man. Just kidding that was good questions! Everyone be prepared with your question list- if you have different questions.... +1 They are the questions that need to be asked. don't know about you but i don't feel entirely well with the SC-proposal. I just hope Bryce doesn't push too hard for it. My position would be: merged mining: yes please but a little later maybe (if others vote for sooner i'll agree with it too) - i'm all for it as raising network security fully makes sense. sidechains: not so much, honestly. I'd really want to see this work in other coins first and see if it is even useful and safe. I think we won't loose out on anything if we don't follow the flock so fast with it. Look LTC wants implement it and btc too. Now wait for the drama once the exploit/crack is found and people start to mess with it and LTC and BTC need to hardfork again to undo their changes or repair their broken shit. For my taste it's too complex and not proven/tested enough. I don't trust it right now. I'm ok with waiting for LTC or any other coin to make the first move on that and try it out on their network, wait for the first critiques from the pros, wait for the hackers and crackers to have a go on it and then reevaluate again before actually wanting to see it anywhere near my uno. I don't care what funding and celebrities dev they have on it. They can't be sure it hasn't bugs before it's not time tested in the wild. All these people like to think greatly of themselves and how genius their new ideas are (just like Butterin who hasn't produced anything working to date. And where is mastercoin today?). Sure they may be good coders and all, but in reality the last word has the hacker who cracks it. This is moneyapplications and need to be military grade secure not some computergame style that breaks down or is cracked 8 weeks after release. So i'd really want to observe this from a distance for a bit longer. What makes me suspicious is also how they want to push for implementation on the high cap coins and not even announcing a new alt with it to test it. This whole story is strange to me. I would absolutely not agree on SC in Uno before i haven't seen it work from first hand experience and some time to go by for the hackers to try their things. Then if it proves to be viable i would want to see people actually use it for something else than scams (actually see the usecase). Let's see what Bryce answers to the questions though. I think the discussion is likely interesting. I'll probably ask a few follow up questions too. I'm such a conservative mofo, i know

Me tryin' to keep up here and over at Cryptocointalk -- v. v. busy over at Un-Ex.
Price-swings? Great! Each price-dip transfers Uno from Potato-Headers to HODLers.

No, sorry for the confusion. First, let me state that I am in no way a technical person. The private key that I needed to import was created by the vanity wallet generator, that is where I got my key. If I remember correctly, the crux of my problem was the "server=1" language in the .conf file. The person you will want to contact for help is Cryptapus. He is an expert at this sort of thing. I'm sorry that I am of no assistance!

Hello IMZ,
looks like you are a busy guy.
I am wondering if I am in the same weird-psychedelic-awkward-wonderful-nolimits kinda reality with crypto as the "first people" who started used electronic letters for the first time...
...may I be the 100th monkey...

when UNO is lets say 1000+ dollars whats stopping everyone from selling off their UNO and "cashing out" driving the price down? Whats stopping them from doing this? Wont this in the end drive the price down hard?

Remember there are only 193 000 coins, not 800 000 000. 1000+ is far ahead and when bitcoin was at 1000, I never cashed out, it even got to 1500 in canada, I didnt sell, only to pay bills. Manipulation drives the price down.

people will sell some but others will want to buy. Demand will at some point always be higher than supply (already is) - that's what makes prices go up. Even if it hits 100$ or 1000$ and people sell their coins (of course they will), others will already be lined up and happy to take them from our hands. It's all about scarcity as suppply and demand make the price. A coin that isn't reasonably scarce will never be worth a lot, that's the law of supply and demand. Welcome to the idea of Unobtanium. Of course when many people or a whale decide to 'cash out' that will drive down prices as supply increases but that will always only be a temporary thing and prices will go back up as soon the 'cashing out' is done.

Depends on if it needs to hardfork or not. I'm not convinced yet. I actually would need to see this work first hand. My position hasn't changed at all so far. Bryce only saying good things about it is not a surprise (it's his own proposal afterall). So far there is still many questions unanswered. I'm not getting a very clear or straight forward picture at all.

Unlike other more inflationary coins, this is a coin that is not scary to pick up from the dump since low emission makes it sure this coin has value.
not scary to pick up from the dump not scary to pick up from the dump not scary to pick up from the dump Boo Yah !! That's what makes UNO pretty cool. It may get dumps on rapid ups, but the risk of a prolonged down turn is less (reason low inflation). And unlike the pure stakes ... black, fuel, panda, rdd ... UNO is not coming off $Million dollar IPO market caps ... there is little incentive for guys that got $1M for not much to HODL ... UNO is the opposite it has traded in the $1-$2 for a long time. The strong hands are in for a LONG game. Plus this is a SHA256 coin ... 1000000x more secure than stakes. If you don't get that then please study up because it the difference between a bumblebee and a space launch vehicle. this when UNO is lets say 1000+ dollars whats stopping everyone from selling off their UNO and "cashing out" driving the price down? Whats stopping them from doing this? Wont this in the end drive the price down hard?
