Streamers and promoters would always go for the most exaggerated line.  So it is normal that promoters/streamers will always calculate the maximum multiplier/minimum wage requirement to entice viewers.

AFAIK the multiplier contest on chips.gg does not allow buy bonus feature, logically it will not be listed under the leaderboard as it does not count for the contest. Unfortunately there is no bet history (for the slot games) on Chips like what we used to see on almost all other casinos. If there is bet history tab, we will know easier about the exact multiplier and exact difference between winning with buy feature and winning with normal spin.

Even the casino doesn't have bet history tabs, he just can use a history bet from slot provider.

I do believe that people who stream on twitch (or any other place) would honestly just focus on the big lines but there are two types, one of them will do big lines and wager minimum and their shows are usually boring for a very long period of time unless they manage to hit a few, and if they end up in profit people do not really care about the 95% of the show where it was just loss loss loss loss loss because there are those couple wins that made him profit so they see it as a good strategy.

Or there are those who do not gamble that way and gamble with less risk and just try to make a small amount of return, when they do that they end up with either a small loss or a small win but they are steady and some viewers prefer that and if they end up steadily profiting, they get more famous.

I played money train 2 recently at chips.gg and I had luck to hit that bonus round pretty fast, but I got only x27, which means that hitting the bonus is just one part, you need to have luck in the bonus round to hit some crazy high payout! I had some nice wins recently, but nothing over x100 in last month!

It's the craziest part, when you wait that bonus bet after bet, bankroll is going down like crazy, and when you finally land on it, you get literally nothing, some funny & low payout! Been there many times!

In the beginning when I played slots, most of the time I only played 5-6 times on 1 slot and never really won anything. Nowadays, I manage to reach bonus rounds quite easily sometimes (in less than 20 spins) but I have not received a very high multiplier. My biggest multiplier was x100 on Pirates Plenty  .
But I agree, slots are fun to play but if you don't pay attention, your bankroll goes down quickly.
