The problem was, that other users voting saw this as an opportunity that they could abuse it, which not only artifically increased the votes for certain users, but it also could have potentially reduced the votes for other users in the running if that user was going to vote anyway.

Thing is, you didn't have to be genius to predict what will all this vote-meriting lead to. Just some common sense, but as we can see its not so common.

I agreed to this offer, but not as a merit source, because I think that these posts are not worth spending on them merit, which gave me theymos for valuable posts.

Oh, so you agree that these posts are not merit worthy, yet you are meriting them nevertheless. And yeah, merit that you earn via other members is not any less worthy than the ones you are getting as a merit source.

What's everyone's opinion on leaving neutral trust on those that deleted, and posted again in an attempt to gain more merit? My thinking is that negative might be too harsh, but it should probably at least be recorded on their profile that they've looked to exploit certain users gratification in order to get more merit.

I believe you should leave feedback whenever you think it's deserved, especially if it's about neutral feedback. I also think it doesn't matter much for a spammer who has negative feedback for advertising a scam.

I suggest that given the Russian aggression on Ukraine and all the immoral things with the voting, all crypto awards should be donated to charity in Ukraine. Since @icopress is from Ukraine and participates in the defense, he certainly knows who needs help the most.

I agree with you completely. It would be great if we could give more support to Ukraine as a collective. I understand why some will disagree with their political decisions, and I respect that, but the fact remains that this is an aggression against a sovereign state and many innocent civilians will suffer. No idea how many other users there are or how their reputation is. Yeah, I figured as much. I'm just not quite comfortable with the deception so it wasn't the issue with earning the merit for me, but the way they went about it. Hence why I wanted to get some feedback from the community. I'll leave it.

As you can see, you are the only one who agrees with me on this idea, and I think that fact tells you enough how much someone is willing to give up some reward in favor of any noble goal. Yet that doesn’t stop anyone from making their own personal donation.

I also share this merciful thought. So there are 3 of us. If I'd win any prize I would gladly offer it to icopress thus he'll do what he knows best for poor Ukrainean people. Of course, it would be impossible to win, due to... various reasons, but if I'd win anything I would accept the idea of charity.

Those tickets to a football game, for example, may mean the food for an entire family for 1-2 weeks I guess. It's war there! The bombs sound is so loud that it can be heard from Romania... Romania, as a nation, already accepted thousands of Ukrainean refugees. There was also created a Fb Romanian group named Uniti pentru Ucraina -- United for Ukraine and it has 50.000 members, all willing to help Ukrainian people in need of shelter in my country. Therefore I as well, if I will be able to help anybody with a prize, in case I'd win any, I would prefer to know that I helped somebody, instead of being happy for my winning.

I know ... and I also do everything within my capabilities, but I don't quite agree as it should be a voluntary choice of everyone and not morally coercive, and if someone decides to refuse any prize, I think he will declare it himself ... And just a last detail - who is running away from Africa are mostly men, to get social security and documents in EU and then invite their family; all men 18-60 y on Ukraine are obliged to stay and defend their country. There is no problem with them. It would have been appreciated if those merit hunters or prize hunters were submitting their vote with their own research and experience. But most of them are just submitting their vote by following the previous posts of other users. Many of them got the false impression (but true) that they will easily receive merit by doing this.

Because everyone gives the merits they want to whoever they want.

Some respected forum member has given merit to those voters only who gave vote to them. Does those voting posts really deserve merits? Well, the respected forum members are giving merits to the voters as they appreciate the voters effort. But those voters doesn't deserve merit when it comes to copy-paste and following other users vote.

Here are some users who has earned their first merit in the forum just for submitting their vote (I haven't considered the initial merits as earned merit)

The unethical attitude wouldn't appear if there was no prize pool for the voters, and the users were not receiving merits for voting. I understand, that the fact that you voted in the copy & paste style, could put the justice of the lottery itself.
