  • Miss Bitcointalk: Bitcoingirl.club

@BitcoinGirl.Club, It's high time for you to change your bio and write I am not a girl. I guess people think you are a girl because of the username. I was thinking the same for a while until I saw somewhere that you wrote you are not a girl, but you were also amazed to see you were nominated for Miss BitcoinTalk. LOL.

Question to GazetaBitcoin and icopress. Let's say BitcoinGirl.Club won the prize, would it be accurate?  Grin (Just asking to be sure).
To the voters: He is not a Girl.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

I doubt that the actual truth matters, and your comment makes me want to vote more for him to win Miss BitcoinTalk (not trying to lobby for anyone.. but just stating my ideas out loud).

1) Self-Custody is a right.  There is no such thing as "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

I also thought he was a Girl because of his username. He also admits that many forum people address him as she because they think he is a Girl  Cheesy. I guess BitcoinGirl.Club enjoy it  Grin. But I didn't forget that he is a man once I learned the reality from his post.

I doubt that the actual truth matters, and your comment makes me want to vote more for him to win Miss BitcoinTalk (not trying to lobby for anyone.. but just stating my ideas out loud).

If you think about fairness, maybe it's unfair to other girls who are real girls.
I am not against the voters, not against the idea. It's just my curiosity, and @BitcoinGirl.Club, please do not take this negatively. It's not his fault that others choose to vote for him. It's just because they don't know the reality. I wrote my starting post as fun. Please don't take it seriously.

For a second it seemed to me that the Admin was talking about all the Tor links... talking about this as something that is associated with the darknet. But I checked and I believe that you are right.
See:
To be clear: not all .onion sites qualify as darknet, right?
Correct. And something can also be darknet without having a .onion. By "darket" I mean something that wouldn't be able to exist for long outside of the shadows because it's being suppressed by the state.

I've been nominated for this category before. I'm just wondering, if I change my name to LoyceV.girl, would I win? Cheesy
Little did I know my nickname was female when I pulled it out of a random generator in 2015....

What lengths one has to go to for the sake of a bitcoin prize. If I say that the letter "m" in my nickname stands for matron, will that allow me to enter the competition for the title "Miss Bitcointalk"? Smiley

Actually, this category has always seemed kind of goofy strange to me. If in order to be nominated for other categories it was necessary to perform any feats outstanding actions related to the forum, such as writing a lot of high-quality text (Golden Feather) or expressing oneself in a discussion of a technical nature (Bitcoin Geek), then to be nominated in this category it is enough to simply be born a woman have a female nickname. Would the nominations Oldest or Youngest Forum Member really be any worse? This is food for thought.

I have an idea. Can the prize fund be divided between three users?

That is, among 9 people who take 3rd place, the winner will be determined randomly (based on the last hash symbol in the selected block), then such a user will receive a large amount.

The same applies to the funds due for 1st and 2nd places (then someone will receive $4500 in bitcoins, 1800 and 900).

Wait! I am sure the last time when I sent my coins to a mixer I never did a KYC.
Without my KYC you can not verify what I tell about my sexual status is always correct 😂

Would the nominations Oldest or Youngest Forum Member really be any worse? This is food for thought.

Remember there is an expression:  "on the internet, no one knows whether you are a cat."

Therefore, some new contest categories could be introduced based on various animals... perhaps rotate using the 12 animals from the Chinese zodiac, and perhaps drawing an animal randomly from a virtual bag would be the another way to mix up the years with various different animals...

I have an idea. Can the prize fund be divided between three users?

I doubt that making the amounts larger makes the contest more fun.

In other words, I frequently like to propose bets with other forum members to take the counter when I suggest that they are taking an outrageous position, and part of the reason for the bet is not to win a lot of money or even to cause them to lose a lot of money but instead to show that they don't even believe in the position that they happen to be taking.  It is not always easy to work out terms, even if a bet is going to be small, but I purposefully enjoy having small bets.. as long as the bet it large enough to cover the transaction fees... maybe in the future needing to send bets on lightning network, even though you guys likely can get away with on chain fees if you batch the sending out of bets, so then the bet amounts could still end up being relatively small... maybe the equivalent of at least $25..

Last year he was 1 vote away from winning Smiley Who knows what will happen this year

Wait! I am sure the last time when I sent my coins to a mixer I never did a KYC.

Part of the greatness is to leave some reasonable doubt, and mix it up from time to time, even though in the real world that might not be a very good way of interacting with people, but on the internet there could be some value in mixing up some of the things, especially some of the less important things, like sex, gender and/or animal status.

That is, among 9 people who take 3rd place, the winner will be determined randomly (based on the last hash symbol in the selected block), then such a user will receive a large amount.

Friends, with recent development and latest post from admin, does this mean no sponsor for this contest?🤔
In the past, casino projects like Sportsbet used to sponsor, also Bestchange but the major sponsor used to be Chipmixer. But with the latest development in the forum, I do not think that any mixer would be willing to sponsor the award. If there be any, I am looking forward to Tumbler because they have enough already in their escrow before the sad news arose.

I don't remember what I was doing. I was there. But I don't think I was old enough to understand what's going on and what's happening in the forum. Actually, I don't remember anything. It's funny how people voting for him. xD. I shouldn't have started the discussion here about it. I guess I shouldn't have bring this topic here.

Many people will start to know he is not female and he might miss some votes. So, I shouldn't have done that. I just asked out of curiosity. I hope BitcoinGirl didn't take it badly.

2. No merit sending is allowed from nominees to users which nominated them. This should improve dramatically the accuracy of results and offenders will have to support a penalty. For each merit sent, 1 vote is deducted. So for example, if in the voting topic Alice sent 5 merits to those who nominated her in any category, then we will not count these votes (but the rest of the votes that are addressed to other nominees will be taken into account). In addition, if a user voted for Alice in two categories, then the votes for each of the categories will be unaccounted for.

  •   AntiHero:                           franky1, JollyGood

  • AntiHero: Franky1

Thinking about it, the rule that merits cancel votes can lead to this type of situation: the user sending merits to those who vote for them in a category that they don't like.

It is expected that people want to win, but the opposite can also happen. So this management becomes complicated.

franky1 did the same thing at the previous event:

- franky1 tried to abuse the system, by meriting 2 of those who nominated him as antihero, in order to have less votes at this category (facepalm)

However, in his case I overruled the existing rule, as this user tried to abuse the contest in plain sight. Same will happen now. In any case, Royse "managed" to obtain even more votes at that category, thus franky1 got "only" second place. Perhaps he'll have more luck this year? Smiley

Don't forget about Ratimov, who is a serious candidate for this award this year.

I am considering him for antihero.
Many people will start to know he is not female and he might miss some votes. So, I shouldn't have done that. I just asked out of curiosity. I hope BitcoinGirl didn't take it badly.
I don't care and never took anything badly. I am not KYC verified [I guess we all were for a day though LOL]

It’s always fun to watch the bitcointalk awards. Some categories are easy to decide on a candidate than others. I sometimes think some people just copy what others have voted in categories where they are unsure.

As for vote manipulation, we have seen the effect merit has in influencing users vote and we all agreed on the penalty of meriting users who vote in your favor Franky1 doesn’t seem to care though. This is one of the characters that makes franky1 a valid candidate for Anti hero position.

Looking at the votes so far, I think the ‘Event of the year’ category is quite confusing to some users. Should we still keep this category next year?

The sponsor saves their money from this category but I think it's a good category to refresh your mind.
