As excited as some members might be to know the results, there are many things any member could be doing outside of the forum. Also, they could be quite pressed for time with forum related issues that are engaged with on a priority basis. Maybe there is a grey area in between that we are not privy to.

Patience is a word that comes to mind  

Think maybe the workload is plenty maybe  that's why Icopress haven't updated yet.

We plebs do not have the minimal idea of how complex such a task is.
Counting the votes, then counting again until the results are confirmed, then recount again until you are sure of the outcome.
Then be prapared for a decent amount of drama.
Be ready for the inevitable backslash.
No, I cannot blame icopress and team to take a few extra days.

I know very well how complex it is since I'm doing the same thing for the second year with the help of icopress for altcointalks

This is the first time I’ve attended this event!
Why are you saying ‘brace yourselves for drama’?
The scores are public, so I don’t see why there should be any complaints. Then again, maybe I’m being naive, but I really don’t see the point.
I suppose, though, that organising this sort of event isn’t easy; it takes a lot of time and patience

Every time there is a slight human interaction, there is a possibility of launching accusation, and this possibility will be abused.
Actually the fact that the prizes go to the people who voted, and not to the people who have been voted, greatly reduces this possibility, yet I am sure that someone will complain!

So it’s now standard practice to hear a few complaints, but I’d also say it’s all part of the game – winners celebrate and losers complain; that’s how it goes pretty much everywhere.
Let’s hope we don’t have to wait too long! But the wait will make the verdict all the more special.

If the voting is public, especially since there are no privileges for those accounts that have been selected, what kind of dissatisfaction can there be? I may not have noticed, but if you bring up the story of last year, was there anyone in the ranks of those who were  "offended"? Then we can compare the past disturbances with the future ones, which, as you say, are expected. However, I can't think of anything to worry about here.

Nobody is going to worry. I am just expecting  someone trying to ruin the fun with some silly behaviour, that’s it. Happy to be proven wrong anytime!

It's normal for such things to happen. Hey, you know how delayed gratification makes the reward more exciting, I think that's what's at play. Also, Icopress needs all the time to curate the votes to avoid stories that touch the heart. This is the second time I'm participating in this but I bet you, this is the first time I'm hearing that there's a lot of drama that goes down. Maybe I'd have to save me a front seat row to the whole thing.

I'm an optimist, that is, if there are any I'll take the popcorn. Jokes aside, I have to say that among all of them, icopress has always been able to manage everything in a masterly way.
I admire his patience, I don't have much patience and I don't even have diplomacy

I couldn't decide until I saw LoyceV's post, and then I remembered something. About a month ago, I spoke with ico, and he shared his impressions of stwenhao and his unsuccessful attempts to invite him to a signature campaign. I read his post history and realized that this guy deserves this award, as his posts over the past year have truly transformed the tech section.

Did I overlook something, or is my nomination for "Discovery of the Year" a mistake?
