Duelbits team posted an update earlier stating that they are performing final security checks to make sure everything is fully secure before fully bringing the site back online which is the right call since rushing could render the site prone to more attacks later.

Am pretty confident that they will return with upgraded security etc sooner rather than later, but I hope hackers didn't access users KYC information along with the 7 million regardless of what Duelbits stated.

I just checked and it seems their casino is back on track, I was able to access to their dashboard. So I assume they are already recovered in the sense they can again allow people to gamble and bet in sports.

I would expect a lot of people to try to withdraw their money because of the initial scare of having their crypto on a casino which suffered such a huge vulnerability.

Plus allow their users to withdraw from the casino. I believe that should be a more important matter, and it will indicate that the casino is OK, and therefore help in making their users relaxed and have less possibility to panic.

Furthermore, exchanges and casinos are probably the most profitable companies in crypto. Duelbits will earn everything back, secure their systems, and move forward.

In this case Duelbits is fortunate to be a very big, recognized and liquid company within the world of gambling and betting. Not all casinos in this ecosystem would be able to take a hit of over 7 million dollars and continue in business as if nothing had happened.

It reminds me when something similar happen to Stake, and Stake also continued as if something had happened.
But let us not be mistaken, if this happened to a smaller casino with a limited number of funds and gamblers, then everyone would have lost their money.

Plus those larger casinos have rich private investors that could send them the liquidity they need if they have some problems with their finances. Because the business is so profitable, they could also ask for money in exchange for shares of the company to get the needed liquidity.

Those smaller casinos don't have such massive advantage because they willbe left to die, unless another larger casino would want to buy them out of the business.

It's good as very first important steps of rebuild, security check, audits, and wallet top-ups were done for a launch of Duelbits 2.0 that is very nearly.

I followed up news about this hack as well as responses from Duelbits but as far as I know, there is no news about what to do with stolen fund $8M. Like a latest exchange hack on Bitget with about $390M, Bitget asked for support from Tether, other stablecoin companies and centralized exchanges to help them to freeze funds if identified as from Bitget hackers.

So far, not sure what Duelbits already did and will plan to do with fund stolen by hackers.

Stablecoins can be easily frozen by issuers.

I followed up news about this hack as well as responses from Duelbits but as far as I know, there is no news about what to do with stolen fund $8M. Like a latest exchange hack on Bitget with about $390M, Bitget asked for support from Tether, other stablecoin companies and centralized exchanges to help them to freeze funds if identified as from Bitget hackers.

So far, not sure what Duelbits already did and will plan to do with fund stolen by hackers.

Those funds are most likely gone unless the hackers do something really, really stupid which I doubt they will especially after conducting such a well-coordinated attack. Most cases usually resolve in this manner in the cryptocurrency world sadly.

Duelbits has pretty much returned with a 2.0 version, but they really need to improve their security protocols if they wish to avoid a 3.0 version, 4.0 version etc etc in the future.

I know about that fact but likely does not mean certainly and even there is small chance to get the fund back, why don't try it. In addition, I am realistic that there is no chance for getting 100% of hacked fund back but getting a part of it is quite possible, especially if hackers had stablecoins which can be easily frozen by stablecoin issuers.

Hackers are not free from fund freeze and legal issues, it's only we mostly fail to catch them and trace their stolen fund money laundering after hacks.
They swapped USDT to TRX and to ETH.

Good news, I know they will actually do everything possible to come back because they make huge amount of money and they have already built a very good and trusted casino and they can’t just abandon it like that.
They are very certain that if they should come back, they are going to recover all the money they have lost so coming back was the best option.
Now that they have come back, they should make their security system very strong so that hackers cannot penetrate them anymore, they should spend more money on their security.

It was in February 2024, not 2014.

If you're going to reply in the same thread, you could take the time to see if anyone has addressed you since your last post and answer their questions. Because what you're saying this time makes sense, but what you said a couple of days ago didn't make much sense. Although, seeing as you've only earned 6 merits in the last 120 days, it doesn't seem like you're very interested in debating—just in writing to get paid.

I saw the update as well because is not actually that easy for gambling site, but I am just happy that they have put much effort to stand strong to restore back everything so easily and quickly. At least, since they have changed their address those who usually make deposit with old address should be at least check back before making deposit. This has also strengthen their security system as well, it could be very hard for another attack again on their site.

Finally, congratulations to them, and their players are now free from temptation because the casino platform is back and deposits and withdrawals are also back. This is another reason to always chose reputable casino companies that can withstand much pressure because of this has happened to some small casino platforms, they will not resume activities again, but Duelbit has been active for long and this act and quick response proved to their customers that they are reputable and reliable.

I was talking about funds freeze or block in general. That is not normal, it undermines authority and reputation of not only crypto, but anything that can be accepted as payment. If someones "money" suddenly becomes unusable because someone has taken some actions, that not good. Anyway, hope Duelbits will find solution to their unpleasant situation and find who to punish for that
