We are excited to announce that the new Chancecoin software is now available on Chancecoin.com!

This version is implemented in Java with BitcoinJ library so that users no longer need to run bitcoind or bitcoin-qt. This implementation greatly simplifies the installation process. In addition, the house edge has been set to 1% in this version, a change that we proposed a couple of weeks ago and received unanimous approval in the forum.

Going forward, we will keep working to improve this version implemented in Java. Stay tuned -- we have some exciting new features coming soon!

I tried on my laptop with 64bit Java from the link on the webpage. Synched 5 minutes once, then worked like a charm

Windows XP isn't officially supported by Java 8 but the workaround is actually not bad. You can follow the directions here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/20965564/installing-jdk8-on-windows-xp-advapi32-dll-error.
