I really dont like the hiked prices at airports, maybe in future some big person will complain about it and then the government will move forward with more meal options from udan Yatri cafe and not just chai samosa.

High prices inside the airport is not just the problem in India, anyway in international airports like KL, the options are huge so there we can find affordable ones which I always do. But here the options are very limited so we are just forced to buy it.

If we can see a change then it is from BSNL but they don't even have 5G yet while Jio is using BSNL towers for 5G coverage.

BSNL is not going to change, in the last 20years they have been playing the catch up game. It is the poor state of the government and not in our control.

Last years, people switched from multiple operators to BSNL as rebellion attack for the price hikes but BSNL is not in a stage to utilize that but if government wants they can make it while it will affect their most beloved person on the nation so they won't.

They'll keep it running even if it's in loss or not innovative anything, although tech absorption is a key and it always goes on okayish pace.

From the outside at times, it might appear that gov is hell bent to paralysing BSNL but that's not the case. In process they might make some compromise in favour of pvt sector but that's a nature of business in between state and pvt sec. To common folks like us it might ook like a result of crony capitalism but in gov POV, it's strategic as long as they keep upping the ante in indigenous tech, which is must and happening simulatounsly for example ; indigenous 4g stack ( only 5 countries have this capability) and the cycle goes on.

For a gov, it's a back up in a crisis because in tough times you can't rely on pvt companies even if they are desi. It also work as market balance in India, due to it pvt companies can't go full retard.

Yes, starting from December every network operator is likely to increase their plan and it will complete in the March so we have some time left to go for the annual plans.

BSNL is good in southern states? I am not sure, because whenever I tried I had no reception so all my BSNL purchases went for nothing and also their network speed is like under 10mbps while jio and airtel offering over 500mbps for 5g users, so there is big gap in that as well.

I once had a BSNL broadband connectio and paid them security deposit + the rent in advance and while the speed was find initially the problems started soon.
The local broadband goons in my aread used to cut the broadband connection wire and I suffered internet outage until the BSNL guy used to come and fix it.
The fix usually took 2-3 days and then the internet was up again. I faced this problem almost every week though.
So in a month, every week my internet was down for 2-3 days and so at the end of the month I closed my BSNL broadband connection and went for Airtel 5g hotspot.

Then I went to BSNL and asked for my security deposit back and their response shocked me.
They said you will have to submit a written application and send it to main BSNL headoffice and after approval only you will get the deposit amount back.
I asked them how much time does the approval process takes and their reply was that some people have submitted the application 3-4 years back and those are still in pending approval status.
Basically, forget the money.

Visual representation of how every government offices works in our country. I too had similar kind of experience with BSNL, once I had wifi router which sometimes works and most of the time not and when we had infrastructure development the wires were cut for months and BSNL took no approach to bring back the service back but I had to keep paying the bills then I finally decided to close their service. I didn't get the refund back but if I let it without closing officially then the bill will be generated every month and kept under my tab.

Very entitle of you to ask any refund or demand accountability from them, i also had privileged to visit them for submitting bills once. Ben choo paise lene ke liye bhi 3 ghante wait Karwa diya tha with so called " arey abhi lunch time hai".

When I returned my BSNL broadband and landline connection long time back I had to submit the old router and the cable after submitting the request. The money was received some time back.

Landlines are basically useless now, I dont think anybody is using them in their households.

The condition of another government office is bad - post offices. Wanna shed your own experience on them?

I would but I haven't had any bad experience with Indian post yet.
I have been using their speed post service since childhood and never found any issue with that.
My parents even had a post office savings account and invested in one of their schemes and withdrawn the amount on maturity.
So yeah, so far its going pretty well at least for me.

The government introduced new rules for the welfare of the employees which triggered IndiGo and so they went on a spree of cancellation of flights.
This is straight away blackmailing them since they kind of have a monopoly in the airline industry now.

But why is the government afraid of them, why don't they just stick with their rules and let IndiGo suffer its fate.
Yes, I know that the citizens have already suffered a lot due to the ruckus by IndiGo airlines but if the government gets scared this way then next time some other monopoly company will follow the same approach to get their things done their way.
This is not how things should have happened and the government should have handled this differently.

Aviation companies have always struggled in our country to stay profitable, that is why many big names shut down their airlines and focused on other business where profit making is possible. I am not an expert but to my understanding the taxes on fuel as well as the landing and other fees charged in the major airports are one of the reasons.

And the most important thing is the passengers here are very price sensitive, we want the best flight experience and the most economical rate while other country people are ready to pay thousands of dollars for the premium experience. If we need to change then companies need to enter with better strategies as well as help from government policies.

A single private company could twist the arm of the government. It only shows how naked the government actually is and even if they try to fix things, the aviation sector in India has been in a mess since a long time.

Lets see how this gets solved, but I will still continue to crib about costly food in airports.

If DGCA was capable enough then they should have atleast try to implement their own guidelines which came out last year's crash. Almost every one followed or tried to but not IndiGo and babu type official of DGCA were clueless.

Should have fine 100s million of dollars without any fuss when indigo pulled this stunt.

After RCB's victory celebration tragedy, One would think that all the state government will take some lessons and learn something but no, not a chance.

No life lost yesterday in Kolkata so that's a relief but saw some sorry visuals, only because families of politicians and vips hijacked the event and ignored the fans completely, such a shame and then we wonder why all big event goes to Mumbai and Gujarat.
